Does anyone use proxies? What is your stand on using them, or why don't you beleive they should be used?
For thoes who don't know, proxies are blank cards used to substitute for another card you may not have, but want to construct a deck out of. So say I want to make a Victory Viper XX03 deck, but don't have any of them, I would add in a card and declare this card to be Victory Viper at the beginning of the game. So whenever that specific card is played, you would both know what it was.
For me, when i'm building a deck and i'm missing one specific card that i'd like to play with, i flip a card backwards in its case (So that its just the back thats showing) and call that the card that I wanna use. Some people don't like it though, and others don't mind.
Discuss!

who doesn't do that but you know i cant have yugioh cards in school so i make the cards out of little pieces paper with just the name of the card on them and me and my friend played each other with them
but then came the point were we forgot the def of something oh i dont know what it was but came to a confusion.
owell we also made up are own cards
and fliping one card over sweatdrop i use to but now i just put a replacement card in thier and play untill i get the other ones i needed knowing i would take that one card out.
but ya fliping the card over of course i did it
i think if any one wants to go threw the trouble of doing that and they remember what the thing is and the whole freaken card let them who cares i play the game for fun.
oh oh oh i thought i would mess with one of my dueling friends and i played him with a deck of sleeves with no cards rofl
he was known for waiting to see what you do and then think of howw to beat you so he would put stuff face down and i just put the sleeves face down we went for 7 turns each blaugh
i got him to look away when i said pot of greed and i put the thing in the graveyard face down so he wouldn't know lol
another friend sitted next to me barley holding back the laughing feeling lol
any ways this means i have used a fake deck now lol xd the protecter deck

Proxies are usually ONLY used in duels against yourself or a friend when you want to "TEST-OUT" a deck before you actually make it so you don't trade for somthing you don't need. Using this, you can also see what cards don't work. This is usually used by an experienced duelist when Deck-Making. 3nodding
Usually everyone uses it... But this is HIGHLY unacceptable at any Tournament, so never use Proxies unless in a user-friendly match. 3nodding

arcangel_8 i don't use them and i will not let others use them it is cheating Using banned cards can also be considered cheating. Proxy's are the same. As long as you and your opponent come to an agreement about it, it wouldn't be cheating. You would be playing with the same rules as the card you're substuting for, so its just pretending you're running that specific card in your deck
