Starlight wandered across the beach, the sand slipping through her toes with every step she took. Her footprints were washed away quickly by the lapping water that washed her feet gently. Yunalesca, as asoon as she arrived, headed for the water. Seawater was the best water for a mermaid, and she swam into it. She surfaced and sat on a rock with her tail in the water, like in traditional films. Hira hovered to collect seashells, like Starlight and Yunalesca had done last time, when she was little. She found a pretty pink one and held it up to the light. She decided to wash it and keep it- it seemed so special and unique. Aerith looked around her in awe and wonder. She had never been to the sea before- all she could see before her was sea-beautiful crystal water beyond the horizon. She carefully placed her foot on the sand and pulled it back up quickly, giggling at the new sensation.

Starlight sat right beside the sea, gazing out at the sun that glittered over the horizon. She glanced back at Aerith, who was struggling with getting out of her vase. She walked over to her and smiled, picking her up and carrying her to where she had just sat. "Now you can get off easier." She lay her palm on the sand. Yunalesca stared at the scene that was playing before her eyes. "Hey, you should come im, the water is lovely!" She called down to the beach. Hira heard her sister call to her. "Okay, I'm coming!" She flew over to the rock, her feet dipping and skimming the water every now and then. She landed on the rock softly, sitting next to her sister. "Now what?" She smiled. Aerith, after being carried by Starlight, placed both feet on the sand and felt herself sink. Her sister just watched, so she stopped struggling and watched as she stopped sinking. The waves, as they surrounded her, covered her up to her knees but she didn't mind.

Starlight watched Aerith, her youngest sister, but did not move as she knew she was safe on the sand. Nothing could reach them from over here. And...she hoped, she would be able to protect her little sister if the time came. Yunalesca glanced at Hira. "We could explore...for old times' sake. I would enjoy that, would you?" She smiled. "Yes, I would enjoy that." She jumped into the sea for a swim, but the waves were too powerful for her. She struggled back onto the rock, and, gasping, she flew back over to the sand. "I wont try that again soon. I'll look on the sand then." Aerith glanced up at her older sister. "Have you been here before? Before I was created?" She asked curiously, but a sence of dissapointment rung through her voice, clear and true.
