I love Photoshop. But that's me speaking as a photographer. I love to edit pictures and make graphics with it, but I can't actually paint with it. I think people who can are actually very talented in their own way, because it looks difficult and can create just as nice effects as using a pencil.

Ahhhhh. Photo manips are... difficult. xd I once tried to edit my brother into a family picture that he had been absent for, and it turn out atrocious. In the hands of someone capable and knowledgeable in that realm, I'm sure it would've turned out fantastic.

There are a lot of good digital artists (like jiuge on dA, for one), and then there are those who need to learn how to use something other than the dodge and burn tools. *shrug* If you can use the medium and use it well, it's deserving of attention and praise.

yeah it is really difficult. Anyone who thinks that actual drawing or painting is harder is wrong. I find it much more difficult to paint in Photoshop with a graphics tablet because I have to look at the screen and not what my pen is doing.
I can use photoshop pretty well to make graphics (like sigs and stuff for messageboards) and I can edit photos well, but I can't add things to photos if they weren't in the picture when it was taken..I know how to do it I just don't have the patience to sit there for hours farting around with the lasso tool and the lighting. sweatdrop

Ditto. xd I like my pictures to be done and over with, or at least have something tangible. Digital art is a different arena altogether.

I like working quickly..I don't like having to return to a painting on another day..I like to finish it it one go...or at least 2 attempts..say..draw it one day..paint the next. I hate having to work on something for a while cause I lose the mood I was in when I started.
