It has always struck me as odd that the Morality and Religion forum here at Gaia Online prohibits threads which discuss magic and witchcraft on the grounds that they do not relate to 'religion.' As magical thinking and ideas were likely the very foundation of all religions worldwide at some point in history, I find this to be a little bit innapropriate. Granted most of the people here on Gaia would not post about magic in this sense, but even if they do not, does it justify prohitibing the creation of such topics? Are the M&R mods unfairly limiting the definition of what is 'religious' by excluding magical ideas which certainly have strong religious content?

That is odd but I don't think I would see witchcraft as persay a religion. But I understand that someone religion may involve witchcraft. I really don't know much about it to have a valid opinion, but that's what I think at the moment.

The M&R post shouldn't have prohibited it. But maybe the one who posted it meant it as keeping the discussion closer to one topic so it didn't go all over the place.
Afterall, If someone says something, and it can be taken two ways, take it the good way. Or make up a good way.

You've been here just about as long as I have. I remeber when the ED allowed such threads, and would expect you to as well. At that time, I usually strayed away from almost all topics. It was like a fluffybunny hayday. Everytime I entered the ED, I would find the most ridiculous topics. "spell to make him love me" "i can fly" ECT ECT. It was HORRID. ~shudders~
