Miller Milano

PostPosted: Sun Jul 30, 2006 9:35 pm

Grunts quietly spikeing his lacrosse stick butt first in to the sand takeing a seat at the bar stareing hard at the ground before him. "So to this Dr guy it's all just one big science experiment where we end up screwed? Splendied..."

He looked up to Gaius frowning at the way he seemed to study him and turned away looking at Sophie now, he gave her what looked like a sad smile frown all in one, "Er sorry... I guess about..." he looked back at his sick pokeing it with his foot causeing it to tip over.

He looked to Marshall now, "How do you all know so much about this?"

Gaius took his drink as well. He noticed Sophie looking away, seeming rather troubled. Hesitantly, as he was still nervous about showing affection in public, he sat down in the stool beside her and slipped his hand over one of hers to give it a gentle squeeze. She wasn't alone, after all.

At Miller's question, Gaius frowned, looking back at him. "How? Because... there's others that have been here for far longer than us... There's over fifty people all part of this experiment, and so we know from their experiences... Marshall here probably asked the labs about his animal. They're perfectly willing to inform people when they ask... I thought I would've been a dog at first, before I changed." He shrugged lightly, remembering how that went. "Such is how it goes... Who knows, maybe you'll be a 'lucky' one and stay a mammal." He averted his eyes, knowing how no one was ever 'lucky' when they came to this island.

Hearing the boy's voice directed at her, Sophie turned, blinking. She smiled at the apology, and taking Gaius's hand, began to absent-mindedly rub his hoove-nails. "You don't need to be sorry, really. I've just been a little...well, jumpy, since I'm about as used to the way I look as you are. I just changed a few days ago." Eyeing the stick warily, she moved in closer to the horse-man, just to be safe. You never know when a stick might attack.

"But...you know...the Island isn't that bad once you get over the fact that they're turning us into animals. I mean, there's a good rec room, and a cafeteria, and...well, it's not like everything's depressing, eh? You meet people you can relate to around here," she said, looking up to Gaius. "Not to mention, we're sometimes in the presence of online celebrities. Take Marshall for instance: he's the writer of Sno Cone. The original writer: not the TV crap." She nodded in approval, even though most people hadn't read the comics before the 'TV crap'.

Marshall blushed at Sophie's comment, flattered that she actually prefered his dinky little web-comic over the TV show. He had been partial to the theme song himself, but the rest of the show didn't feel like his.

"I've actually been here almost 4 months now...You find out a LOT fast, trust me..." Marshall said, as he continued to sip his coke.

Miller frowned again, so this was like one giant island all on it's own with it's own population of mutant animal people. Granted he did like Anthro art but the thought of physically becomeing one never occured to him as posible and even now not all that plesent. "Whats the longest some one's been here I mean... how can they hide this all from like... the goverment?"

He rolled his eyes at the lucky comment, he was the last person to consider him self lucky. Miller noticed Sohpie's werry looks at his lacrosse stick, carfully he slipped his foot under it poping it up before tossing it like a spear farther away from them sticking in the sand. "I always was bad with change, seeing ones belifes on the human body shattered and broken in a matter of minutes proably dosn't help at all."

He raised an eyebrow, so this place was both hell and a so called resort in a way at the same time then? "I suapose by relate that means where the only people to know what the others going through then?" He blinked again, "Never heard of it, I live a sheltered life of video games and a very narrow scope of the online world."

The familiar feel of Sophie's hands on his fingers helped calm Gaius, and a small smile came to his face. Yes, things weren't all so bad...

"We're not sure how they hide it... but they're very good. To have hidden this place for over a year, judging by what some of the veteran islanders have told me... They are very, very good."

He thought a moment, being similar to Miller in terms of lack of internet knowledge. Judging by the stick, though... "Hey, you're into sports, right Miller?" An eager smile spread across his face. "If you want, there's a bunch of us that play soccer around here, and I bet you could join us! It's a good way to break the boredom, and it's good to avoid being lethargic. I'm sure you'd have a great time!"

"You've never heard of Sno Cone???" Sophie exclaimed, feigning a gasp. "Blasphemy! It's a wonderful comic! Marshall will have to show you some of his work some time." She nodded, giving both Miller and Marshall a smile. It wasn't often that the others got to see Sophie's inner fangirl, what with all the angst floating around the Island.

Looking up as Gaius mentioned sports, she leaned back against the bar, relaxing. "Yeah, we've got soccer, and our best player has no legs," she commented, chuckling to herself. True, now wasn't quite the time for transformation jokes, but after all that awkwardness, she wanted to lighten up.

"Peh, I suck at Soccer, but its always fun to watch...Unless Rex pops the ball with his claws." chuckled Marshall, feeling a lot more relaxed now.

"Miller, the thing is...None of us WANT to be here. But we are. So...We're just...trying to do our best with it." Marshall said, putting down his now-empty soda. It wasn't exactly a "perky" comment, but still, it was true. He slightly felt like he was beating a dead horse now, but the kid deserved to know EVERY THING about being stuck here.

Miller sighed and tried to forget that he had a family for a moment, but it nagged him that they would never know what happened to him when he left for 'camp' and never came back.

"Only lacrosse to be honest, nothing else ever really held my intrest quite as much." He raised an eyebrow, "Soccer and Lacrosse are one in one, though I prefer a stick over my feet for controleing the ball."

He shrugged at Sophie, "I get stuff like that alot, people telling me I havn't seen such and such and thats how it offten starts out." He raised an eyebrow, "No legs? Should I even ask what he is?"

He sighed as the topic rolled back to the island and there forced life here. "Yah... I kinda get that..." he took the coke he had placed back down opening it up and drinking now, if only for an excuess to think for a moment.

Though his reputation for being thick was well-known, even Gaius could tell when Miller wanted a change of subject. It was understandable... after all, he'd only had half an hour to absorb it all. Letting Miller have a moment to think, Gaius picked up his forgotten juice and sipped it. His eyes went back to Marshall.

"You know, I haven't really had a chance to see any of your comic either! What's up with that? I thought I was supposed to be the best friend!" He pouted teasingly, pushing out his lip and making big blue Frodo-eyes at the comic artist. "I'm hurt! Hurt to the core! Where's the trust? The comraderie?"

Also noticing Miller's desire to change the subject, Sophie jumped down from her perch, looking at Marshall with a devilish grin. "You know...I think we should invade Marshall's room and see what kind of Sno Cone crap is in there...Y'know, I've never actually been in his room before..."

Turning, she grabbed Gaius by the hands, tugging at him so that he would come and follow her. "It should be fun, invading the Pengu-man's privacy." Blinking her own blue eyes in a way she knew appealed to the masculine senses, she added a long, held out, "Puh-leeeeese???"

Marshall instantly went red in the face, and slammed his palms on the desk, eyes bugging out.

"YOU LEAVE MY ROOM ALONE!" Marshall said, half-joking, half terrified of having people in his room. His messy, unkempt, dirty room, with DVDs lying around, and his DS games scattered, and the panthora of crappy doodles...OH LORD, IT WAS EVERY THING THEY PROBABLY EXPECTED FROM HIM!

Miller sipped quietly at his coke watching the three bicker slowly he made his way to the lacrosse stick leaning on it continueing to watch. "Yes I too wish to see this Sno Cone..."

He grinned at Sophie and Gaius, he winked before moveing quick to pounce and pin Marshall, "Goooo! I'll catch up in a second! While he's distracted!"
PostPosted: Mon Jul 31, 2006 9:18 pm

"Oh man, how can I resist such a face?" he chuckled ruefully, allowing himself to be pulled up. "That's cheating, you know! Girls shouldn't be allowed to make such faces!"

He watched as Miller tackled Marshall and laughed, pulling away from Sophie to catch Miller by the elbow. "Come on, let him up! After all, we need him to explain all the Sno Cone stuff to the clueless like me."

Turning his grin back to Sophie, his ears twitched up eagerly. "Lead the way, I'll drag Marshall along here! We'll have an 'exclusive' behind the scenes look at the process of this Sno Cone comic."

Sophie grinned smugly: "Well, it's not like I use it all the time, so there. I think I'm entitled to some feminism every once in a while." She shuffled over to the general mosh pit that had become the three guys. Laughing to herself, she balanced herself on the tips of her toes, and then began to run off towards the dorms, bouncing just like a roo only on opposing legs. She stopped to wave sheepishly from a small distance away, and then yell a challenge.

"Hey, let's go through Gaius's room, too, while we're at it, eh? Last one there's a rotten egg!"

And with that, she was off, ready to see anyone try and beat her. There was one advantage to having roo legs: it made her fast when she actually hopped.
