I didn't break canon with ben reappearing.

I figured that Yoda had several more years left on him after ben, since he died close to four years later.

Only Yoda has talked like that. Even members of his own race speak correct basic.

In fact, yoda is credited with having a "unique speech pattern". Unique doesn't mean one of a kind, but to me, it means that few use it.

And holocron could be an excuse... if Link grew up with nobody around him for years and years. otherwise linguistics would say he'd pick up a different dialect and speech pattern.

It'd have to be pre-clone wars. Yaddle died early.

Which is dubious, since the OJO frowned upon love (which probably would extend to procreation as well). I mean, Kai got away with it because of species relations.

But the OJO would have known if the two had a kid.

Yeah, I don't think it would go over well if Yoda was a naughty Jedi. I guess a Holocron would be the answer.

wow. I didnt know we all still posted here.
As for Link's dialect, I seem to recall that Holocrons were a lost Art by Yoda's time.
My Reason for him having this Yodaish dialect is something else.
