Well, on the whole, it sounds good.

The difficult part is to attract readers. I mean, honestly...if I saw a certain magazine for the first time and decided to skim through it, you better pray that I'm not only attracted, but (in a sense) hooked.

It's special. I want more.

It would have to be appealing (in otherwords, as professional as possible).

True, true...it IS time-consuming...
Your best bet would be to start it while you're in school. By the time you leave school, the Magazine would already have subscribers, so it won't be such a bad job.
Interesting you should suggest starting while still in school, because I was thinking the only way to do this would be after you'd left. I left school a while back and find I have a lot more time and motivation now for larger project.

Professional looking is good indeed.
And I'll second the ideas both of you suggested-- it's good to START while you're in school, that way you can get to learning the basics and what does and does not work for you while it's not like your life depends on it yet, but it's once you're out of school you get down to the real buisness of starting in earnest, getting serious about it. It's what I've done with my writing. In 7th grade when I decided it was what I wanted to do I knew I'd start working and getting practiced then but it wouldn't be until I was graduated that I'd have the time to really put all my effort into the deal. It's a combination of the two ideas to aim for I think, or atleast that's the principal I've been working on. 3nodding

I think that's great a Non-Japanese(no offense)
person created a manga that is really popular
so far in the guild and somewhere else.

He even posted it on the internet before
converting it to paper! eek I didn't
know it until I found his website.
