I saw an interview with one of the producer/director peoples, and from what they were talking about I knew it wouldn't be horrible. They talked of actually keeping true to the original story and being fans of the original and things of that nature. More directors need to be like that.

I dunno. I mean, keeping true to the story is a good thing, but shaking things up a bit could be better. Or diabolically worse.

I'd love to see a movie in which Mario (Samuel L. Jackson) fights ninja koopas trying to murder Peach (The Rock), while at the same time teaching orphans the meaning of friendship. (Orphans played by the surviving munchkins.)

I roffled myself. heart

But I do think keeping true to or at least respecting the original is very important. Getting writers/producers who are fans of the original story, anyway. Presenting a new story while still not completely raping the original to death and making fans go WTFNO.

Anyone else pissed that Kal Penn(Kumar) got gyped in Superman Returns? Of all the henchmen, he was the most popular, and had the most screen time. All of that considered, he had no lines in the entire movie! His death sucked too.

I agree, with the exception of comic book movies. I really enjoyed X men 3, but nothing that happened in the movie was anything like what happened in the comics, and that pissed a lot of people off. But I really didn't mind. I mean, I've already gone through the comics. I don't need to see a film adaptation, and something completely new based off the characters is refreshing.

Superman, for instance...Superman Returns is a sequel to the movies, isn't it? And I believe the movies had very little to do with the comic series itself.

Yeah, all of the superman movies haven't been based on the comics exactly. If they did, then Lex Luthor would probably be in a large green suit, Braniac would be in at least one of them, and Superman would've died by now(which almost was one of the movies).

Superman has to be the greatest character in...anything, ever.

Think about the basis for the character itself, when it was originally concieved.

"He'll be fast."

-"Okay."

"And SUPER STRONG."

-"Right."

"And bulletproof. And he can fly. And shoot lasers out of his eyes. And blow hurricane-force winds out his mouth."

-"Good. What's his ******** you, that's his flaw."

Kryptonite and all these great plot elements were added later, but nothing fundamentally changed, except that he became vulnerable. He really could have used a makeover 55 years ago, though. Right now, if they changed the way Superman looks, I'd be pissed. But I can admit, it looks like really, really, cheesy.

They did change him once, after he died the first time. He came back made of lightning, several times stronger, faster than the flash, and could pass through objects. He was a pimp, then another part of him(named superman red) came around, and combined with superman to bring superman back to the way he was... only weaker(at least, I think that's how it happened).

His Name was Stanford in the credits.
I still called him Kumar. He gets killed on the land Mass Lex created and his corpse gets thrown into space by superman. How will he find White Castle?
