If you're really avid about upping your post count quickly, you can bump people's quests (to bring them to the front of the quest forum in hopes that more people will see it) and if you keep at it, you can reach 1000 posts in about 2 weeks. Of course, most people take more time than that, and I only went crazy like that for one mule... redface
Yeah, if you vote in polls about once every 30 seconds, you'll receive about 10g per poll for maybe the first 10 or 15 polls, and then it won't give you the full amount anymore until after a certain amount of time. Once you reach about 1000 posts on your profile, you can vote in polls once every 30 seconds and receive the full gold for them no matter how many you do!
