Well, there are only two studio albums out so far, but which one do you like the best? Yes, Virginia... blew me away the first time I heard it. I think their sound has improved and matured a lot since their self titled album.

If i could make a cd of all three of their cd's i would. I have favorites and ones that i dislike on every single one of them. That, and all of their live cover songs. It'd have to be: Missed Me Coin-Operated Boy Christopher Lydon Bank of Boston Beauty Queen Truce Good Day Girl Anachronism Gravity The Perfect Fit The Jeep Song Slide Sex Changes Backstabber My Alcoholic Friends Delilah First Orgasm Shores of California Mandy Goes to Med School Me and the Minibar

They're both lovely, but I prefer the self-entitled album.

God, that's really hard to say.. :[ But like the first post: Yes, Virginia... blew me away. I was so shocked at how amazing it was. Usually, a band never comes close to their debut album. Sophomore albums are usually "okay, but not as good as their first" etc. Yes, Virginia... for me was just..too close to their debut. It was so amazing.
I wrote my own review for the album and gave it 5/5 stars.
They're both amazing albums, but it's really hard to tell which one you like better..

I think Yes, Virginia... is the better of the two. The listener gets a better glimpse of how creative and unique The Dresden Dolls are and what they are capable of...
(This is not to dismiss the first album entirely- don't get me wrong- I'm a fan of all of their work by default...)

Personally I'm a big fan of Yes, Virginia for whatever reason. I do enjoy them both though.

When I first got their self titled album I was amazed by how awesome it was. When I got Yes, Virginia I was expecting a similar sound, but I was blown away at how much better their music became. It was so creative and really makes me want to get the next album immediatly to see what new creative songs they make next. It was an awesome CD. mrgreen mrgreen heart heart heart

I think I will always love their first album more. However, after seeing them on their latest tour, I had a better idea of just how great the second album is!! Hearing alot of the tracks performed live made a big difference. When I first bought Yes, Virginia, I swear I didn't even listen to it for weeks (weird huh) but I was afraid that it would not live up to my expectations. But now it's just plain awesome smile

They're way different, so I couldn't say one or the other -- the first just envelops me, like you can sink into it, the second is more active and concrete.... That's how I see them anyway
