The two looked at Jem in silence. Finally, James spoke up.
Yes, well I suppose Jem knows what's best for the boy...
We'll just be leaving, then. Sorry to bother you. It was nice to meet you all, but I think the Captain here is right. It wasn't ever our place to interfere.

The hook and tamborine watched as Olivia thanked them all and went on her way with Grumpy.
Bye, Jem. I'm so glad to have met you, and I'm sure Hook thinks the same. Perhaps we'll meet up again sometime... Esme's voice suddenly began to fade and her telepathy suddenly stopped, like a radio signal that was suddenly cut off.
Esme? Hook turned to her. Unexpectedly, the tamborine fell to the ground with a clatter. As if it were just that: nothing more than an ordinary tamborine. Esmeralda? What're you doing? This is no time for games...
He floated down and nudged it, but it did not stir. He began to fear for the worst. Perhaps Tymiko would know what to do?
I'm sorry, Jem...seems like something's come up... Glancing around, he discovered Jem was nowhere to be found. Hook looked up and noticed she was with her guardian. That's where Grumpy was. That's where they all should have been no matter what their guardian was like. Hook knew no matter how childish she was, Tymiko would never ignore something as serious as what happened to Esme.
Quietly, as not to disturb Jem and Kazu, he hooked himself onto the tamborine and carefully carried her away.

Kazu waved goodbye to Sophie as she walked off with Grumpy;; hopefully everything would work out with them.
She wasn't worried, Sophie seemed an adequate guardian.
Jem's glow warmed up as her guardian spoke to her. If she could have told her anything, it would just be that she was sorry for making her worry;; instead, she merely repositioned herself around Kazu's neck. When she heard Emse and Hook say goodbye, she flickered.
"Bye guys! Thanks for all of your help."
Emse suddenly being silent frightened Jem, but she was sure that Hook could handle it.
Kazu smiled and turned back towards the castle.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I know, I'm sorry I couldn't think of a more creative way for them to leave...XP But I already posted Esme's first post in the main thread as a child, and it happened to be still in traverse town...
Aww, don't worry, Jem! heart You'll grow into a child yourself soon eough, and so will Hook and Grumpy, and then you can all play together again!))
