Today was crazy, man. It was far-out though.. I came over to my friends, which is where I am typing this, as my computer is down. But we walked over 20 miles today, into town, cause he lives in rural area. smile We followed railroad tracks, went under bridges, made walking staves, and got plenty of blisters to prove it wink I loved the travel, and I would love to travel far distances like that one day. What about you guys? You like to travel? If so, on foot? Bike? RV? '67 VW Microbus? smile Got any travelling STORIES?share em, man wink

Just yesterday I went into the John Muir wilderness to hike and photograph the awesome nature of the area. The drive from town, which was in the lower 100's when I left, to the cool of the mountains was...enlightening. Counting Crows playing, windows rolled down, driving between monolithic peaks and bubbling creeks to the evergreens and waterfalls of the Inyo National Forest, to hike for hours to one of the falls where these deer were grazing; I needed it.

I hate having to stay at home. I love my parents and sister, but I always feel cooped up, pushed in, and there's no privacy in my house. sweatdrop Today I rode my bike 5 miles or so to my boyfriend's and best friend's houses. It felt good to just...ride for an hour. 3nodding Next time I'm going 8 miles into the "villiage" that my school's in. I cant wait! biggrin If I were ever to run away, it would be on bike. But, it's kindof my fantasy to be a trucker or to live in my van or something. Make money doing odd jobs or selling stuff I make or even being forced into prostitution. (Not rape.) xd Sorry, now I'm just fantasising about how I'd live if my parents didnt love me so much. sweatdrop I could never be a prostitute. xp

I love hiking in the woods. My family's got this cabin out in the woods. It's way out, away from electricity lines and such. I love it.
I like to go out with my dogs and hike all day. Sometimes I'll bring my bike, but then I have to stay on the roads and I prefer the woods, I feel safer, no creep from the town driving around will see me if I'm in the woods.
It really sucks though because there's some criminal escaped from jail and they think he's hiding out in the woods in the region our cabin is, so it's not really safe to be up there since he's shot at a couple people since his escape.

I love travelling. I hope to make it over to India and Thai land some day, but for now North America will have to suffice.
I've done some cycling tours in past 12 months of living in California. One from Costa Mesa to Tijuana, MX. and one trip from San Francisco to Newport Beach.
I hitched from Seattle to Portland with my cousin a few years back. It was a relatively good experience except I forgot my sleeping bag in some guy's truck.
And in a few weeks, I'm hitching up to Oregon with my new dog.

As Abbie Hoffman once said, Straights are likely to pick up hippies, out of curiousity. So I wouldnt hitch with anyone unless they look REAL straight. How's hopping trains? I've always wanted to try. Oregon is a place I wanna go visit, too. wink

From my experience, most people who have picked me up are just looking for conversation.
I try not to get in arguments, just to be safe you know.
