My Uncle was just killed a week ago in a car crash. This got my mind thinking a lot about death and Fate vs. Chance. So what are your veiws on death. And can you die earlier or later then you really should?

Fate and Chance are so close that if they were people they would be identical twins. I'm personaly a strong believer in fate, I belive that everything happens for a reason and that we all have our ends set out already. I'm sorry about your uncel, *huggles* Its just that it was his time, I doubt he even knew what was happening. Car crashes usualy kill people almost instantaniously. He is with the lord and lady now, he also is watching over you always ^^.

Everything happens for a reason, whether it be fate, chance, or karma. All three can alter eachother, and although there is no set course for life, each has its own plan.

This is a really good discussion topic! =D
I don't know. I feel like there is a purpose for us to be here, but a lot of people just can't see that purpose, for whatever reason. I also beleive that others are so blind and reckless that they can throw a person off the right track.
In which case, lather, rinse, repeat. We get sent back to try to fulfill whatever task we were cut short from achieving.
I guess this means I beleive in both? The road to fulfilling fate can be an incredibly long one or a short one. It's all controlled by things that we can't detect as humans, but once our spirits are set free we understand.
It's like mice in a maze. They go around and around and around, getting lost sometimes and having to go back a few steps to get back on the right track. The maze was built by beings that they could see but not make the connection. Sometimes they get the cheese at the end, othertimes they don't. In the big maze of life, a mouse might get too far lost and die.
Sad analogy, but it works. ;-;
Sorry to hear about your Uncle. *hugs*

I think we are free to choose anything we want but we are reincarnated many times to achieve wisdom and kindness and so forth and to finally realize the meaning of life. I believe if you are given a fortune you can always alter it. Like a girl told me I was going to go out with this guy Cody but I never did. And I never will because I realized he is not quite my type. I personally believed I was going to go out with Cody but I slowly realized that I wasnt.
I think death isnt exactly planned unless you have learned all you can from that life (ex. elders)
No matter what happens I think we are free. Of course the lord and lady sometimes intervene to help or push us torward wisdom. I first realized this when I was roleplaying with someone and he was a god thrown in a different world to help it but without any power. He was telling me about his world when he said that everyone loved each other and peace was always there. Then I realized that if everyone loved each other they wouldnt be free to do what they wished. Of course doing something bad has consequences but it does help you acheive wisdom. I felt like some of those people were forced to love. I understood what it was to be religously free. (Of course these are my own opinions and I dont know if they are true or not but they are true to me and thats what I keep.)

That's true. Life can't always be good or else you won't appreciate it. Bad things happen and it puts life back into perspective. It's sad, but it's how it works. ;-;

I believe that there is a small ( very small) line that divides chance from fate, but also that in certain situations, they can be placed together. Whether it's your fate to die of a heart attack, or just pure chance, I believ that if you are meant to kick the can, then you will. But chance can sometimes have a hand in changing that small fact. I think that everyone is given multiple paths for them to chose, sometimes those paths lead to one end, sometimes there could be multiple ones. Some of us can have a defined path, that will not be changed, no matter what chance throws at it, while others can have theirs changed by as simple a thing as a cold...... I think I might have gotten a bit off topic.. whee

I believe that death really is a new beginning. And I also think that it is possible to die before/later you are "meant" to. It all depends on how quickly you learn the lessons that you had planned to learn in this life.

i beleive that allof these things comeinto play like you were fated to meet someone or getting something really cool unexpectedly by chance and someone being destined to do something.
