Wherever they are, they also have lighthouses and very large bodies of water. I don't believe that just because they said "Kentucky" in an episode means it's true. Why would they give away one of the biggest mysteries in a normal episode? I think it was just to throw some people off, because realise it was not one of the characters who said it, it was a voice. A distrustful voice, if you ask me. Anyway, I believe that in order for the writers to be able to have all sorts of freedom and not be bound by any one location, they don't have any one Sprigfield in mind.

heart heart heart well it cant be illinois because the capidal of illinois is springfield.and their capidal is not springfield. i think it is eather north carolina or south dakota. heart heart heart

They live in Kuntucky...it says so in one of the episodes, I forgot which one though.

It's the episode that shows VH1's "Behind The Laughter".

Yes, but in re-runs it says Southern Missouri. They changed it purpousfully, so fans couldn't go 'AHA!'. Besides, almost no one in springfield has a southern accent. Maybe they live just outside Kentucky. As for homer's 'Tennasee' quote, his geography is ntoriously bad.

If I took the same amount off time trying to find where they live as I did (and found out with pure evidence) trying to find out Comic Book Guy's real name i would probaly know

it is in one of the newer episodes... the one where homer leads the super bowl half time show
