Right before I came back to Gaia, I went to my first anime convention...specifically, Anime Next. It was about last weekend or so, I'd have made a thread earlier but I've been preoccupied with life and unable to unload pictures!
Anyway, it was lots of fun. My friends and I cosplayed as characters from Death Note. I was L :B I got glomped a lot.
ALSO, I SAW LADY LEONARDO, BUT I DON'T THINK SHE SAW ME. I YELLED OUT TO HER, BUT SHE DIDN'T NOTICE. Dx
Here are some pictures/highlights from the con for you monkeys to ogle at:
Me as L. You can't see my face!
All the Death Note cosplayers got together and took a whole bunch of pictures. Can you find Atticus? :0 The Raito cosplayer next to me is house hobbit on Gaia!
Greed cosplayer. He was really nice.
Plank from Ed, Edd, and Eddy. I found him in some courtyard at some hotel.
A neat picture of my friends and me in the park.
The infamous Baninja. Part banana, part ninja, all killer. I know this because I got whacked in the side with his katana.
 OH JESUS! IT'S JESUS!
Most original cosplay award goes to this lady for dressing as the Kyuubi nine-tailed fox demon from Naruto! Her costume was awe-inspiring.
If you went to Anime Next, feel free to post pictures/stories/cosplays/anything else up!

PLAAAANK!
I wish they had anime cons in Pittsburgh. I don't think they do. If they have furry cons, they should have anime ones. *Is a bit afraid of furries*

That sounds like a whole lot of fun.
We have AnimeBoston here, but I didn't get to go this year.

I live in the So. CA boonies. The most exciting things happening here are the people protesting Home Depot and the Ralphs that's closing. I think the closest thing we have to Anime Cons are birthday partys.
wink Be awesome if we had a convention here...

I'm spoiled coz I live right outside of NYC. There are anime/comic conventions up the wazoo.
@ Kaz: Furries, from what I've seen, are either convinced they're whatever animal they roleplay, or are egotistical. There are many nice exceptions to the rule, though...
@ Kirei: Shame :[ Well, I wouldn't have been there, anyway.
@ Su Manana: You should try hosting a cosplay Halloween masquerade! One of my friends went to one of those and she and I might host one this year.

The verdict doesn't love our soul ~
Plank! *glomp*
In San Francisco we have the JapanTown district, so conventions just flow in. I THINK I'm going to one in San Jose on Juy 13th. I'm cosplaying Tenten from Naruto...god, that vest was hard to make. gonk

~ The digital won't let me go. Heh. I feel bad, coz my cosplay was zero effort. I had the jeans, borrowed the shirt from a friend...it was all really easy. Hardest part was convincing my parents to let me go. My dad found out the day before and was like, "FHGJFHDHDFHS WHO IS GONNA B THAR" and then I had to convince him extra-hard that it was okay. That's the way my parents are, though: extremely over-protective. And then they complain about me being naive...

That was part of the reason why I decided to cosplay him! When we talked about doing the group cosplay, I immediately picked L because I didn't have anything that would've worked for Raito, and one of my best friends looks/dresses exactly like Misa.

Hmm... Now there's an idea... The problem with me is that I like to wait for other people to come up with ideas, or host parties and stuff. I'm not a moocher, cause I always volunteer or donate for things like that, but I should be the host for once. Thanks!
