I've just gotten into a show called Tru Calling and in the episode Star Crossed, two teenagers a boy and a girl found dead in a car after it had gone over a cliff and it was assumed to be a Romeo and Juliet running away together situation, because they noticed a beautiful necklace around the girl's neck.

(The premise of the show is occassionally the dead will ask Tru for help and she goes back to the beginning of the day to prevent it from happening)

So anyways, she's back and the guy and girl are both in a car during a road race and she steps in front of the car to keep it from going over the cliff and she thinks she's prevented it but then realizes when she sees the girl that she wasn't wearing the necklace. Later on she finds her in the woods being given the necklace- by another girl *SQUEE*

I've just started watching Doctor Who and Torchwood and I am SO impressed with their treatment of gay characters, it's never for the lawls, or because it's sexy. In fact one of the lesbian couples in season 3 were both old ladies, they were so adorable. And one of the major characters, we saw him in an alternate universe, and he had a boyfriend in that one.

Plus Captain Jack Harkness.. he'll... sleep with anything... I'm so straight for this guy *sigh*

I just got to this scene in Torchwood where he goes back to the 1940s and finds the guy whose identity he stole, and Jack knows the real Jack is about to die in battle... and he's urging him to live life as much as he can... and so the two boys get out on the dance floor and dance together as everyone stares and they are beautiful!

Yeah. Plus Dr. Who started in Great Britian. They are much more open to that sort of idea.

What is really cool is the raido station I listen to always includes it. They always say 'whatever gender you prefer' when they talk about love and other such. (Oregon, yay). Makes me damn proud to listen to them.

In fact, all the British shows I've seen have good treatment of gay characters... another one I've watched and never finished had a lesbian ghost.

Really? I seem to find (on american tv) that it seems people are more open to accept gay men and couples than they will accept watching gay women.
