Are they allowed to use fire bending? I need to know, I was going to roleplay as a citizen but I need to know more about the lifestyles of fire nation citizens in order to do that. sweatdrop

Well considering the fire nation, i would think that fire nation citezens who could fire bend would be up-and-hoisted to the war. we know that not all firenation can firebend, it's sorta like the x-gene in x-men i like to think XD 'the benders must be exterminated!' ninja

I'd think citizen's would be allowed to firebend, but would be pressured to join the army, as the basic army is comprised almost solely of benders. The one exemption to this are the archers. 3nodding

i mostly see fire benders with main people in the episode and i see a lot of soldiers

And people who fire bend and they aren't in uniform they are usually entertaining. And did anyone realize that where ever the Avatar -gumi goes things almost always ends up on fire.

I don't think they show fire nation Citizens i know they show soliders but....i would suppose they could, although the people in Kataras tribe can't waterbend.

It seems that most benders are male probably because it is like feudal japan and other women opressing cultures but I'm probably just reading to deeply. And another thing why is it that earth benders have to almost touch their element to use it most earth benders seemed bulky or heavy set and it is hard to find and earth bending woman excluding Toph and Avatar Kyoshi, or maybe if you include them it still only really makes two who are really even seen.
