Just as a suggestion, I think the guild should have a sticky or something regarding how to use/proper use of the report system and things like when to use that and when it would be better to just PM a mod/helper/whatever to move things.

Because, believe it or not, hila has never reported a single soul/thread/anything because she's too afraid of doing the wrong thing. sweatdrop And I'm sure I can't possibly be the only person who is confused with these things.
I was actually going to make a guide like that the other night.

Ask a Mod/Helper thing is great.

One thing that pisses me off is that when somebody says, "wrong forum"-- 17 people come in and say it after that. I saw somebody do that when the thread was almost off the page!

Yeah, frustrating.

Anyways, I like the new Guild Intro page and stuff...we just need to spend a few more days spiffing things up, etc. Let me know if there's anything specifically you want to do. For now I'm just patrolling the AMC, posting some feedback here and there and looking for other intelligent and concerned gaians to join our cause.

We pretty much need some tutorials, and a solid set of rules.

Well this is related to helping the AMC. For future reference, has there been a thread made discussing the detrimental effect of downloading on the Anime industry?

If so, linkplz?

well more along the lines of "I'd do something, but I'm already doing something" XD;;;

I have no clue if what you're doing is a bad idea yet. I haven't even thought about it.

You know what would be good? A thread where we can get a better idea from mods as to whether something is frowned upon or not.

You know, maybe something like an "ask the powers that be" thread so the people trying to explain the AMC's rules to the masses are explaining them right, as opposed to the ten thousand interpretations on every rule under the sun.

For example, just popping in to say "Wrong forum" or "wrong forum, moron" is bad, but from time to time if I honestly believe the original poster doesn't actually know about the rules, I'll post to leave a paragraph or two explaining the subforums, why we have them, how to use them, and where to get more information as to the rules and general practices on Gaia...

And then some jackass will whine at me for spamming the thread when I'm actually doing something to genuinely help.

Sorry about the late input, you guys know how often I have time to get out of my inbox and deal with something that isn't "FOMG!! WJ! Only YOU can do this!"

Anyhoo, while this isn't a bad idea I can point out several problems that come with implimentation. Firstly, with all the AMC mods that we've got, you know how frequently most of us tend to show up and check external things. I mean, if we aren't directly poked we probably won't ever notice because there's just so much crap in AMC itself that needs to be dealt with. I mean look at me, you guys haven't heard from me in months and even before I was global'd and then omni'd I tended to disappear for huge pieces of time because I had so much on my plate to deal with.

Another problem is that if you're asking questions about policy and the like we generally can't give you an immediate answer because any policy decisions we make should be discussed and agreed upon through concensus with the other mods, otherwise we'd all be doing our own thing and crap would get a lot worse. It also doesn't help whenever I get the "But X said to do this!" line when I clearly have never heard hide or tail of this supposed decision.

The last issue is more of a personal gripe. This is "your" guild, meaning that it's run by regular users with the interest of helping in mind. If you become too dependent on getting our input on every little decision then we may as well just be doing it ourselves. Or you become redundent to the helper system.

That said, I do like the idea, I just don't know how it can be implimented on a regular basis. To be honest, my biggest issue is just the lack of time to notice and check. For myself, you're better off just asking me "in person" if you have a question otherwise I'll never notice.
