I was looking at VIZ.com, because I wanted to know how far North Amreica is with the manga (volume 26) and on the summery for volume 26 it said: VIZ ...Inuyasha and friends encounter a strange mountain that's so holy, Kirara, Kikyo, and Shippo can't even set foot on it... There are in fact a fair few facts wrong here... but the main thing that bugged me was they said Kikyou couldn't set foot on it. That's wrong, Kikyou could if she had wanted to, the reason she DIDN'T was because her soul skimmers could not. Now nomally I find these kind of mistakes okay, but I mean really, it's bad enough a lot of anti Kikyous who don't understand what Kikyou says half of the time would use that, but now VIZ is just pushing them to! I can see it now: "well, if viz write it it must be right" Maybe I'm over reacting, but that really made me twitch...

Perhaps Viz is assuming that her soul skimmers being unable to go through is reason enough to say that Kikyou cannot go through. Basically, Viz is half right, but half wrong. They want to sum things up, but end up missing a detail that would change someone's perspective on things.

I just dislike VIZ on the whole... ...and of course I heart "Manganet"

I find it a bit annoying at well ><
VIZ sometimes make Kikyou seem very weak...

omg eek lol, thats terrible whee Whenever I see stuff like that it makes me like anti-kikyo people a little more and dislike VIZ a lot more.

Eh... Well they probably wrote that due to a few things:
1) The current Kikyou can't step foot onto the mountain, or else she'd lose her lovely pets. xp What they said is logically right, but technically wrong. It's the truth, but not the whole truth.
It's like if my arm was trapped under a boulder. I would say "I can't get free!". Well technically if I lopped my arm off I COULD get free... But I don't want to lop my arm off, nor is that really reasonable. She could go onto the mountain, but it's just not reasonable.
2) They want to make things sound dramatic. If they went into detail like that, face it, the summary would get a bit boring. Like this, people read it and are like "Oooh even SHE can't go on the mountain thingy? Cool!"
3) They don't have a lot of space to write it in, so they simplify things a lot. Can you imagine if they went into detail on every little thing, how much longer it could be? It's just a basic description, and anyone who actually reads the manga will find out the whole truth.
So I mean, I don't agree with it, and if it were me I simply wouldn't have included her in that sentence, but I can see where they're coming from. It's not that they're trying to make her seem weak, I think it's more for marketing purposes.

Everything has flaws. This is a really minor one, that anyone could of carelessly made. I don't think it's really such a big deal. :/

most ppl know kikyo from anime, which thx to viz made her looks like some kind of ********************* and in manga, actually kikyo looks much better. and innocent
