It's just that there are usually 20 or so episodes in a season..They can't have a new episode every week...Doesn't the Uk hav e seasons the same length?

It varies. It's more like eight or twelve episodes in a series, on average, and series generally run straight through, an episode a week. Life On Mars, for instance, has eight episodes a series.
American programmes aired in the UK are also generally shown on a straight run, although awkward scheduling sometimes mean a break over Christmas. The American style just frustrates me. It's not just the breaks. Frankly I'd rather have a straight run of just a few episodes with no filler than a choppy run of twenty episodes padded out by gems like Wither.

So. my Maple addiction isnt really there anymore, but i have a girlfriend now >.>;
Iuno, i get CW on HDTV now, so i can actually watch smallville, so yeah, maybe ill be around a bit more or something. *shrug*
