I have a friend and things arent going too well for her. She cut's herself and tell me she has been stopped a few times from taking her own life. She thinks her family doesnt care for her and still makes the threats. She says I'm her closest friend and only I understand her, once being suicidal myself. If I'm the only one who can reach her then I need to convince her how it will turn out once she's gone. Can someone please tell me what I should do? It would tear me apart if she did it and I could have been the only one to prevent it. cry

all you can do is be there for her. tell her that you care and that you don't want to see her like this... you don't want to see her dead and that it will only crush you. Also be positive around her and say that her family cares no matter if she thinks different. but most of all just be there for her.. as long as she has someone with her and for her that she could turn to... she won't do it...
In other words sit her down and have a long heart to heart talk about what she is doing and how it is affecting you. if she realizes what she's doing to you then i'm sure she'll do something to try and stay alive than killing herself.

You are here closest friend an were suicidal at one point. Sit your friend down and tell her how much you care about her, don't tell her she is wrong and that he parents do love her, that will just make her even more mad. Just tell her all the things you wanted to hear when you were suicidal. If you believe in God or are a christan, then pray.

Besides encouraging her on how impotant her life is and that God loves her more than she can imagine, pray real hard for her!

Well, yes, you need to tell her how much you care about her. Also, talk to her parents maybe. Or she could call one of those suicide numbers. Pray for her.
