Marshall pratically rolled off the couch laughing, not even noticing the movie any more. Mind you, if he was asked about Iona he would've been just as embarassed, but every one knows its funny as long as it doesn't happen to YOU.
"Okay, okay, you like her...Why don't you ask her out? I mean, she seems to like you, and you're a pretty decent looking guy. Not as good looking as me, but still." Marshall smirked, opening another Orange Soda, offering one in Gaius' direction.

"A-Ask her out?!" Gaius's voice rose an octave as he stared at Marshall, dumbling taking the soda pushed at him. "B-but... how would I do that? I-I mean, are you sure she likes me? What if I freeze up in front of her? What do I say? What do I wear?!" The poor guy was on the verge of panic, worst case scenarios bouncing through his head. He hadn't asked a girl out since middle school - a girl had to ask HIM out for Senior Prom!

Marshall sighed, chuckling. Gaius was about ten times better looking than him, taller than him, older than him, and more muscular, and yet Marshall was the confident one!
"Yeah, she really does seem to like you, so I really don't think she'd say no. I suggest just wearing some thing you'd usually wear. I mean, when I asked Ion-" he stopped in mid-sentence.

"When you asked Ion-who?" Gaius leveled Marshall with a enquiring look. He'd heard the slip. No way was Marshall getting away without an explanation! "Just who is this 'Ion-'? Is it... a girl?" His grin spread maliciously. "You mean you have a girl here?"

"...Her name is Iona. I really like her and asked her out for dinner..." Marshall grumbled, not making eye-contact and red in the fact, "B-But I asked her out! So! Whats your excuse?! Huh?!" Marshall said, trying to change the subject.

"Iona, huh?" Gaius ignored the prodding, leaning over to rib his 'younger brother' playfully. "And you've gone on a date already? Whoo! I can see the sparks are flying!"
Gaius was thoroughly enjoying this. Probably too much for his own good, but considering how often Marshall tormented him, it was time for some payback!
"Soooo..." he leaned in conspiratorialy and grinned. "Is she pretty?"

Marshall sighed, knowing that this was pay-back for all the ribbing he gave Gaius. He knew that he HAD to answer Gaius' question; otherwise, he'd never hear the end of it.
"Um...Yeah. She's really pretty...She, um...I guess she kinda looks like...I dunno...A princess?" Marshall said, embarassed beyond reason and red in the face because of it.
"...GAH! I CAN'T BELIEVE I ACTUALLY SAID THAT!" Marshall yelpt, falling back in his chair with a hand over his eyes.

Gaius burst into roaring laughter and fell back against the couch. "A princess!!" he laughed. "I didn't know you were THAT much into fantasy!" Gaius whiped a hand over his eyes, rubbing away the mirthful tears and trying to control his giggling. "Hehehe... alright, so... he! You like her a lot then, huh? And actually asked her out? For real?"

"Yeah, I asked her out. I was really embarassed and felt kind of...akward, but yeah. And I did it wearing my ugly green shirt. Proof that clothes don't mean jack!...Well, y'know, maybe she liked that shirt...But, um...Where was I going with this?"
Marshall laughed at himself lightly, picking his soda up from the coffee table and taking another swig.
"So, gonna ask Sophie out now? Kind of running out of excuses." Marshall asked.

"Ah, er. A-ask her out?" Gaius winced, rubbing the back of his neck and looked away. "I dunno... er, maybe soon? I'm just waiting for the right moment..."
Gaius fiddled with his soda. Sure, he liked Sophie well enough, but they were just friends right now, right? They'd only met at the party a week ago... Gaius was not the sort to rush into a relationship. Hell, he wasn't one to crawl into one. He'd wait and see how things went...
"She is really nice..."
