Well diets never seem to work for me because I can never stay on 'em. I'm a cheater sweatdrop but just slowly try to pull away from those starchy foods you love ever so much, try to eat more fruit and vegtables even if you're not craving them. If you get the munchies eat a banana or something, maybe drink a tall glass of milk too because that always fills me up when I get the munchies. (Make a fruit smoothie perhaps?) You can't just diet either, you have to stay active, try walking everyday, if you have a dog or something take it out for a walk every morning or close to sundown so it's not so hot out. Try to walk at least a mile everyday. My mom and I always do aroebics(sp?) at home or pilates or something when it's too hot to go outside. Got a swimming pool? You can do laps in your swimming pool his summer if you don't feel like walking. Well I hope this helps you, it's really not very hard to do any of these things but if you're like me then you have no motive to do them... xp My motive = zero...
I like to tell myself, it's great being a big person but it's better to be healthy. 3nodding

Quote: Diet is Die....with a t at the end Sorry couldn't resist. That was a quote from my fav fat cat garfield. buyt anyway. I hate dieting. I'm one of those people that if I diet..I wanna see results in the first few days..not two weeks later. And I've never been told I was at a dangerous weight level....unless you think a 5'4" , 250lb. is dangerous. Of course I wouldn't mind getting down to at least 200lbs. I'm thinking baout trying some of that trimspa when I get some money.

I have lost 50 pounds.... NOT Dieting. I exercise(6 miles a day on my bike and 2 walking plus free weightsand my ab lounger).... and use portion control. Also I added calcium to my daily regime and LOTS and LOTS of water.
I eat what I want... but in realistic portion sizes. I also eat slower and enjoy the food, not scarf it down as fast as I can. SO when 4-5 tacos was my old amount, I know only have 2.

It all comes down to burning more calories than you take in on a given day. My friend droped the pounds fast with just taking up running and eating less junk and more foods good for your body. A good book I would recommend is called "The Fat Wars" by Brad King. Excellent read.

Northawke_rs I've had my doctor tell me I had a 'dangerous' weight, but after he examined me it turned out not all that 'dangerous'. No high blood-pressure, no indication of diabetes (even though it runs in the family), nothing wrong with my heart, yadiyadiyada. Of course I'm only 24, but still... It was nice to see him swallow his own words. Likewise North. I've never had blood pressure and not Diabetic like my mother and grandfather or even showing signs of it. All in all I'm very healthy, because I do get up and move. Sometimes I think some Doctors are idots... someone had to finish last in their class right? lol
