I was just wondering if we could only have one character or if we could make two. I'm used to playing a master but decided to try a slave for this RP but I'm begining to think that I would like a master as well. Is that okay?

Yah, sure. Just make it very clear which is which. And try to keep one character per thread. You could always create a mule account to play as a different character. (what I do)
