Ok so you might not know what I'm asking but here is what I mean. You know when someone just can't think straight and sometimes people call it a brain fart? Well to me when I can't draw because I can't find inspiration I call it an Inspiration Fart. Yeah I know sound funny. When do you normaly get an Inspiration fart?
For me, I would have to say, when summer break starts, I gess I get alot of my inspiration from my friends and knowing that I can't see them as much depresses me and I have a hard time drawing. xp

it's spelled "inspiration".
i get inspiration from everywhere. i usually have music on in the background to inspire mood and such. it usually effects my color choices and such. reading stories and poems also help me come up with cool concepts and ideas. when i'm obsolutely out of ideas, i start copying magazine pictures to see if anything else would come to mind. if not, it will just be a technique practice. if something does come, i usually discard whatever i was working on, and start the new concept.

i dont know that i actually get "farts" but i do go through periods where it seems like nothing a draw is any good. i feel inspired and draw constantly, but it all turns out suck. i agree with sox on this one, i generally draw with music on (for inspiration and to drown out the crushing silence that bothers me when drawing), and when i feel like i dont have any ideas, i look through magazines or just randomly draw things on the paper, like lines and stuff, and then i look at it and i usually see something and go with it.

If I can't bring myself to draw, I start practicing my calligraphy. Works every time. xD
Though I've only had mild artist blocks from post-exam exhaustion. heart

If I don't draw on a regular basis, I usually lose my edge, which doesn't seem to take much. sweatdrop

I seem to get really bad artist blocks right after I've drawn a really, really good pic. For a solid week or two thereafter, I can't even draw a stick man very well. No joke. xd

I call those times "My muse's unexpected vacation," "My muse has left me" or something along those lines.(Such phrases have inspired me to make a muse RP character. O.o)
There are periods of time when I can't think of anything, and my random doodles turn out horrid and burn-worthy. My painting teacher has to basicaly kick my a** into action to get me to do anything... I think my muse has been on extended leave, either in Tokyo, Naha or San Jose, because those are the only places where I felt any inspiration as of late within the past few months...

It's the capitol of OKinawa... I went on a few shopping sprees there this summer. It's an awsome city. It's basicaly right on the beach, and there are some really really awsome street vendors there too. Not to mention 10 to 20 story shopping malls and department stores. O_O (Hence the shopping sprees)
Just yesterday I worked out a few character sketches of me muse, and named her as well. Now I just gotta work out her personality traits. I'm thinking she's rather lazy. >>

ah....-adds Naha to list of places to visit-
i dunno, i wouldnt say my muse is lazy, persay, but i'd definately say he's pretty antagonistic and/or spiteful. it seems like when i want to draw something, he's like "eh...denied." and then of course i start to get frustrated and, of course, my drawings get progressively worse. so it's like the more i want to draw something good, the worse it becomes. need is different--if i have a drawing i need to do for someone other than myself, he gives me great stuff, hehe.
