Elana's eyes were filled with awe as she nodded, replying, "Wow..."
Dragain walked back slowly, holding two push pops while she walked back, holding them out to the children. She smiled, "Two lime push pops, right?"
Elana gave a soft squeal as she took one of the push pops, enjoying the coldness on her hand.

"Thank you," Blue replied, taking the popsicle from Dragain. His arm felt heavy, and he rested it on his knee to hold it up as he lapped at the treat. Why was he so tired? Maybe he just needed a nap. But he wasn't a baby ...
"Hey, kiddo. Did you make a friend?" Prolixity padded over to the small group, Merlyn's hand firmly captured in his. He nodded to Dragain. "You got him a popsicle? - Blue, did you say thank you?"
"Uh huh," Blue nodded. "Dad, this is Elana and her mom. They're nice."
Merlyn tugged at his father's hand, leaning back towards the play structure. "Daadddyyyy," he whined.

"You're welcome, Blue." Dragain answered as she turned to look at the newcomers. Giving Prolixity a quick nod, she replied, "Yep, since Elana wanted to try one as well... We might have to leave soon, it's getting late."
Elana nodded, and greeted with a smile, "Hello."
She licked the push pop, and grinned happily as it touched her tongue.

Prox nodded. "We need to be off, too. Nice to meet you both. I'm glad to see Blue making friends - he's usually so shy."
"Dad!" Blue said, one ear going down with embarrassment. He put his feet down and started to slide off the bench. A wave of dizziness struck him, and he paused, blinking and almost dropping his popsicle before he regained his balance. What was wrong with him?

Elana bit her lip as she saw Blue's actions, guiltiness striking her as she held out her hands to him in a reflex reaction. She closed her eyes before giving her new friend a hug. She felt something surge in her, like waking up from a long nap, and quickly let go a split second later.
"Bye bye... Hope to see you again soon." She smiled, although there was a hint of sadness in her eyes as she hopped down from the bench, and dusted herself.
"Ah yes, Elana hadn't met anyone of late either." Dragain replied, "We'll be off now, see you." She took Elana's hand and led her away, out of sight.

Blue squeaked a little in surprise at the swift hug. He hugged his new friend back, a little clumsily, and then swayed back to lean against his father's side for support, tired and dizzy. "Bye," he called quietly after them. The push pop drooped in his hand, mostly forgotten.
Prox looped his arm around Blue's shoulders. "You ready to go, kiddo? - Are you okay?" He frowned faintly, noting Blue's drooping posture.
"I wanna lie down," Blue said in a small voice, ears flattening back. "I don't feel so good."
Merlyn, sensing his brother's mood, stopped tugging on their father's hand and peered at Blue. "Blue sick," he declared after a moment.
"Let's go home." The catboy steered Blue gently towards the exit to the park. Merlyn trotted along beside them, simultaneously fascinated and worried.
