((Time for a time warp, and another crappy title biggrin DDDD!)) It had been a busy few days for Mafa, the alpha of the graveyard pack. Recently, she'd seen a surge in new membership in her pack, and she was in damn good spirits because of it. She prided nothing more than to be looked up to, feared, and respected, and the newcomers did just that. Soon, they'd be able to start building up their forces to drive the lions out... Once the young ones grew more, for they stood no chance now.
The female sighed as she partoled the borders of her packlands, making sure no lions leaked in. She was getting hungry, all these pressing matters had detoured her from going out to hunt, as she had planned to about two days ago. But the female still held her head high, she was strong, she could go a few more days without food, the safety of the pack was indeed much more important.

Close by, another hyena made her way ever closer to the graveyards, her scent not that of the pack but of a rogue. Jambazi had been wandering for some time, an outcast of her own pack and a lone hunter. She was an older female and a capable huntress, and despite the warning smells of another's territory, she kept moving forward.
"Let's see what sort of welcome is waiting.." She murmured amusedly as she boldly trotted closer, her red fur shaking in the air.((shortpost, xD;;; ))

As the winds shifted her way, Mafa noticed a new, unfamiliar scent being carried by them. It sure wasn't a lion, it was a hyena. Mafa held her ground as the stranger approached. Her icy, aqua eyes zeroed in on the hyena, examining it as soon as it was within range. Another female. Mafa tensed up immediately, a new female was always a sense of tension if it seemed like a threat. She could deal with young females, but older ones, there was a chance she could be here to challange Mafa's authority.
Mafa's head shot up into a tall, dominant position, aserting herself as an important figure around the place. The alpha's nose twitched about as the rouge grew closer until Mafa deemed the other female to be within a hearing range,
"You there, who're you?"

The scent of the alpha grew stronger as Jambazi neared, her maw curled into a smirk. It was obvious by her position that she was an alpha, and as such, Jambazi kept her pose low to show she meant no threat to the stranger, despite the fact that she equaled her in size.
This rogue was not looking for a fight. Even if she happened to win said fight, and even if the others of this one's pack accepted her as alpha (and that was a lot of 'if's), she was never the leader type; waiting for someone to kill you for a position you don't particularly want didn't seem so appealing. She was perfectly comfortable with submitting to the stranger.
She stopped a few feet away, her raspy, low voice calling out in response. "I am Jambazi, rogue and exile. I bear no ill-will."

Mafa licked her chop idily, taking smell steps as she hopped over dirt and bones to get closer to the stranger. Cold eyes narrowed further as the other female spoke. With this statement, Mafa's tension dropped a bit, but she still kept her guard up. The alpha's ears did perk as Jambazi spoke, this rouge had piqued her curiosity,
""I'm Mafa, alpha of the Graveyard pack... An exile eh, praytell, from where?"
Mafa's voice was monotonous, not holding any sense of kindness or welcoming, but it was obvious that she was interested. An exile from one pack could prove to be a powerful ally to her own.
