She is one of my all-time FAVORITE authors. Her books usually revolve around love and family themes, like "One True Thing" and "Black and Blue."
I've read and re-read "Black and Blue" so many times that I can recite passages from the book. It's about an emotionally abused woman who flees from her husband, a New York cop, under something like the women's witness protection program, to Florida. She learns to live and love again there, and it's in first person, with the reader seeing much of her thoughts. <3 Such a sensitive and touching story.
Her prose is also beautifully written. ;A; She is an author I aspire to be like.
So yush, voice your views on her, and if you have none... well, pick up "Black and Blue" and see if it touches you in the way it touched me.

I'd go read it, but I have a problem getting into stories written in first person. S'why I could never finish Outlander. /:
