Ripuka RP Fighting a GoddessKimaria Ripuka moved slowly across the sand, her head low and eyes scanning the area for trespassers. She had smelt the scent of strange lions on one of the slaves and had made it her job to scour the area to check for any other lions who wished to become a part of their pride.
She moved with head lowered and a cruel smirk on her face, ears flattened back, hackles up and tail thrashing from side to side. Every part of her screamed threat, so one would hope that she met no poor rogues who had chosen that day to dwell close to Firekin borders.
For Ripuka was known to be mindlessly violent, taking out her anger on all those not of her blood - Finar-si's blood. She had a lot of anger inside of her, built up after months of walking outside in the world that she despised.
Her strangely marked body sparked like fire against gold and as she drew closer to the borders there was indeed the scent of strangers still lingering. She turned her head round all the way so that her one good eye could scan the area but so far her golden eye saw nothing.
A shame really. She had looked forward to showing those inferiors a lesson, her run in with the slave had done nothing but aggravate her. chemicalstar Eir looked to the shimmering sand which lay under the dead tree trunk she had landed on. After she met Mrost, she had this urge to fly over the Firekin land and enjoy the view from up above. She could not exactly describe the feeling she had in her heart, because she simply did not know how to, nor ever felt the same way before. So intead of trying to describe, the goddess used her wings to portray the mood she was in. Being this energetic was not actually a lot like the white lioness but again, she had given up trying to understand the situation she was in and that was around her.
Her bi-colored eyes lovingly caressed the desert, which was the closest thing to a home Eir had ever experienced. These violent lands, full of suffering and pain, was the battlefield of Eir; her workplace and she came to consider the inhabitants of these lands, the Firekin, her chanrges. They caused pain yet experienced it too. The goddess knew it was her responsibility to heal anyone and everyone who asked for her help without choosing sides... and besides the Firekin intrigued her with their pride, arrogance and their corrupted moral conduct.
The borders were usually empty at this time of the day, yet when Eir saw a figure approaching, she was not too surprised. The Firekin had many demons inside their souls, and they avoided self-confrontation at all costs and used violence to silence the voice inside for a while. This lioness, for the goddess knew it was a female long before she had even seen her, was probably on her way to inflict some pain on the poor wanderers who mistakenly entered these lands. Kimaria Ripuka was not unobservant by choice, but the fact that she was blind on her right side made it extremely difficult to notice a lot of things. This disability had been inflicted upon her by a nasty rogue who thought to capture fame by slaughtering a Firekin. Needless to say that the moment the inferior tore the surface of Ripuka's eye with her claws she had lasted only a few moments before having a pair of flaming jaws wrapped around her throat.
This lioness had blood on her claws and she had killed without mercy. Her mate had died by her fangs and her newborn cubs too. Inferiors had been cut down, squashed like bugs beneath her paws and so this scar - though an irritant - stood for her victories against those who would rid her from this world.
She paused in step, the sound of wings reaching her sharp ears and for a moment she wondered what it was. For though she knew of wings she had never heard such a loud sound being created from a bird.
So with a thrust of her head she raised her face to stare up into the sky, eyes fixing on a strange and somewhat ubelievable sight. Ripuka's chest clenched with a sudden fury and her teeth gritted together as she snarled.
A Goddess here, so close to the Pride!
She clenched her teeth tighter together so that she might supress her rage but all that did was fuel the fire burning in her chest. For in the next moment her jaws snapped open as if on a spring and a terrific roar rumbled from her throat.
How dare this Goddess trespass on Finar-si's lands! chemicalstar Eir looked at the unfamiliar lioness with compassionate eyes; she knew she was no use to this Firekin for her wounds were deep within the skin where the goddess could not reach. However, living alone most of her life, the white lioness felt as if she could welcome some company.
When she heard the lioness growl angrily the goddess nodded to herself. Another Firekin with a hot temper. She slowly jumped down from the trunk and walked slowly and gracefully to the lioness. Eir was of a frail nature and was never much of a fighter if such a situation arose, yet her magic and power gave her the ability to protect herself to a maximum extent. She was not afraid of physical violence, so the goddess did not see anything wrong with approaching the lioness.
She smiled reassuringly "What and why are you so angry at?" Eir did not know sweet-talking herself out of situatons for she was always strightforward and open. Asking the reason of this lioness' temper was only a natural thing to do for a goddess of a concerning nature for the well being of the others. Kimaria The Firekin quite simply trembled with rage as the Goddess approached and asked her question. She spoke as if she had no idea who these lands belonged to. It was blasphemy! Blasphemy! Part of her wished that Finar-si would come swooping down on her blood-hued wings and kill this white beast where she stood.
She would quite willingly revel in the blood of a Goddess.
Yet where perhaps Ripuka should have shown respect to the deity she had nothing but hatred. She was made by a Goddess and in her eyes that made her just as good as this white abomination standing before her.
"I thought deities were smart and wise but if you ask such a question you are a fool." She laughed, "I suppose that what happens to a Goddess who is worshipped only by inferiors, they become inferior themselves."
She tilted her head up at a proud angle and drew in a deep breath to puff out her chest. "Answer me this foul blasphemer; what happens to a mouse that dares to play outside the safety of it's hole?" chemicalstar Eir smiled again "You are wrong..." she looked at the lioness who was filled with nothing but meaningless and misaimed rage. Yet, it was better that such an anger was directed at her for a mortal would not be able to stand it whereas she could easily dodge both the verbal and the physical insult made by this lioness. It was not her aim to show this red female she was superior, not even to punish her for her arrogance. Eir wanted to get to know mortals more and this one particularly, who seemed to experience the excess of a feeling Eir herself had never felt in her eternal life
"I do not need followers to be powerful or to exist. I just do." She replied and nodded "My powers are a necessity to the earth so I am given the priveledge of not wasting time with mortal bounds to keep me strong" Her tone was not boasting, just simply stating the facts.
She circled around the lioness; she seemed well-built. Possibly a warrior. Were Eir a mortal, she would definitely dread crossing paths with her. Yet she was not, and fear was not something she carried in her heart, at least not for herself. It was not within her grasp yet that she had started to carry some sort of fear for other's wellfare. She would panic if she did realize, for she was supposed to be impartial towards anyone, including Mrost. Yet it was proving impossible, even in the subconscious level.
"Are you talking about yourself?" the goddess asked "for I can see no reason for you to insult someone who hasn't done anything to you" She curiously waited for some answer. Kimaria "Who are you to say what is right and what is wrong? You are a fool to even think of stepping paw here on this sacred land. Do you know what that means?" She bristled, aware that she was under scrutiny from the circling Goddess.
"A Goddess without followers is worthless, do you not realise your purpose is to serve us mortals?" She hissed the words spitefully, turning her head so she could follow the female's movements as best as possible. "You may not have done anything to me but you have tainted this holy land with your presence. This land belongs to a Goddess far superior to yourself."
Spittle gathered on Ripuka's teeth as she yelled each word, every one as sharp as daggers as it left her mouth. Hatred burned beneath the surface of her good eye and her hackles bristled up. Unlike most mortals Ripuka had no fear of deities and had no hesitations about attacking one. Even if she had known of Eir's healing power she still probably would have tried to hurt the other.
"Best you back off now before I tear off your pretty little wings." chemicalstar Eir nodded "I can say what is right and wrong about me and that is about it" The goddess placed a careful paw infront of the other and sat down gracefully "I do not serve mortals" she replied "I merely serve the system, which mortals are a part of, just like any other god and goddess to walk this earth." She looked away to the land around her "A goddess who thinks she is superior is only fooling herself" she smiled "So is a mortal..." She felt sorry for the lioness who seemed to follow this goddess mindlessly like a minion.. Was this what Mrost was looking for? Dedicated followers without their own thoughts but merely mirrors of the blue god?.. She felt something sting in her heart.
"Why do you think attacking me would solve your problems?" she asked "Without me gone, your pride will slowly disappear, being so fond of violence and pain..." She licked her silver colored paw. The words of the lioness which were probably meant to be hurtful has no effect on the goddess for she was used to the way of the firekin. "As I believe your goddess does not carry the powers of healing?"
Eir stratched her wings at the mention of them and waited for the next action of the lioness curiously. Kimaria Ripuka lowered her stance, fur along her neck, shoulders and spine still bristling with anger. She was as hot tempered and unpredictable as fire itself, her mind so intuned with religion and tradition that she could see nothing else.
"Shut up! Shut up you foul devilish creature. You have been warned and now you will fall. Your feathers will rain from the sky and settle as snow upon this golden blanket. Your blood shall feed the plants and your fur will scatter to the wind and be lost!" She leapt sideways and span somewhat elegantly on her toes so as to face her opponent, eyes narrowing.
"Snow melts under a fire's touch."
And as the words rasped free the Firekin leapt, jaws opening so that they might fix upon the base of one wing where the feathers erupted from the shoulder. chemicalstar Eir jumped back quickly which was not expected of a frail body like hers and with the swish of one wing she casted a reflect spell on herself. Being the goddess of white magic, she was equipped with strong defensive powers such as healing and casting safety walls, and preffered to use those instead of the weak offensive spells she was gifted with. Her nature did not allow her to hurt another being, but she has a hunch that her curiosity might cost much on this firekin, for it was one of the goddess' responsibility to protect herself. Her absence would easily tip the balance of the scale, which she could not have.
Behind her safety wall Eir smiled compassionately at the lioness "Are you sure this is what you want to do? After all, you must well know that the powers i carry makes it almost impossible for a mortal to hurt me with direct attacks as yours.." The red lioness attacked her wings... Just like Mrost did, yet how different were those two. The goddess was never put in such situations where she had to attack back, but she could not help wondering what the blue god would do if he was put in her situation.. He would surely jump on and kill this lioness. Eir closed her eyes in emotional pain.. Poor child, she thought, and I cannot even help her. She wished her powers were stronger to reach through to the aner of the Firekin but they were not. So she just watched the futile attacks of the female from behind her barrier sadly. "Why are you so angry at the world?" Kimaria And as she connected with the invisble wall that protected the Goddess, Ripuka knew that she had lost before the fight had even started. Yet despite knowing this she knew she could not stop.
She straightened and pounced again, striking the barrier with such force that she almost knocked herself out. Again and again she pounced, smashing her head against the barrier in a vain attempt at breaking it. Claws slashed harmlessly over its surface, her sides bruised as she threw herself again and again.
Then finally when she could do no more she stood, trembling now from fatigue as she turned her one good eye up to face the Goddess. Blood streamed from her nostrils and a gash was now visible above her eyes. Her paws were cut and bleeding and yet she had no one to blame but herself.
Eir had not harmed her.
She had harmed herself.
She growled, snarling menacingly as she tried to conjure up strength to try and strike again
"The world is full of fools, beasts who would seek to kill me and my Pride. Beasts who are not worthy of setting paws on these lands. Those who were wise are dead and the Goddess I love shows no sign of stopping them." She adored Finar-si but was also becoming distinctly aware that though other deities showed themselves it was Finar-si herself who remained hidden. chemicalstar Eir watched silently as the lioness attacked and attacked her again, hitting the barrier and hurting herself. She was trying hard to pull herself, trying hard not to beg the Firekin to stop, but she knew the moment she stepped out of the barrier, the red lioness would attack her and force her to attack back. She could not do that... A single tear fell from her green eye to the hot sand under her paws.
When the lioness was done and almost collapsed on the floor, Eir stepped out and approached slowly, knowing the Firekin had no more strenght in her to attack "We Gods can stop so little things really... " She slowly explained "It is you, mortals, who draw your own destinies and we are just the means to put those destinies in an order so light and dark can co-exist peacefully together...Chaos and order, sanity and madness, day and night... We just make sure they are balanced while you live thorugh them, we are merely the eyewitnesses of the history you write"
She held out one of her white colored wings. It was not her usual practice to heal someone in the lioness' state without asking, but the goddees feared the answer might be negative if she asked. So Eir, with the price of exhausting herself, healed the lioness who was so willing to kill her on the spot for no apparent reason and she did it without any remorse. After all, if it wasn't for the barrier she casted, the lioness would not wound herself in such a way. Kimaria Ripuka tensed as the Goddess drew near, her eyes angered slits as she watched Eir intently. She would have attacked again if she'd had the strength so instead she let a steady, low growl rumble ever present.
She wasn angry, annoyed and in pain and she wasn't in the mood for this Goddess any longer. Yet neither would her pride let her run away. She would not show fear in front of this blasphemer.
It was only as her pain ebbed away that she realised what the Goddess had done. She was...healed? Almost instantly she was on her paws, snarling and threatening with her eyes.
"Why?!" She snapped, her teeth clicking sharply together. "Why did you do that? Healing me would only give me the opportunity to try and kill you again?" Her confusion held her back from such actions for now. Weren't all other deities supposed to be pathetic in the light of Finar-si?
s**t...life had just taken another irritaing turn. chemicalstar Eir opened opened wings wide and with a swift movement lifted herself up in the air. She did not want the lioness to try and attack her and get hurt again. "Because.." she replied calmly "...because nothing in this world is worth suffering for no apparent reason.. even pride and glory" The goddess apologized "I am sorry our meeting has been hurtful, that was not my intention" She stared at the lioness who was now fully restored health-wise "But I hope if we ever meet again it will be on more peaceful grounds
Eir wished she knew better about the reasons why this lioness acted with such hostility.. was it her devotion to her goddess that she saw the white goddess as a rival who would want to claim Finar'si's place? Eir shook her head. She would never attach herself to the mortals like Finar-si did, for their own good. Seeing this lioness again proved her no good came out of blind devotion to a god. She smiled "I hope you a path worthy of you to follow.." With that Eir bid the lioness farewell and floated into the sky. Kimaria Ripuka said nothing as the Goddess swept upwards and simply stared at her until she dissapeared from sight. It was only then when she had been left alone that she crumpled to the ground, her body writing in the sand as she tried to control the anger, confusion and upset that spilled into ehr mind.
For a moment it looked like she was having some sort of fit and the only thing she could doto calm herself was to snap her jaws down on her own paw and let the pain drain away the anger.
Then finaly she fell still, rolling onto her side and lying upon the golden sand.
Why... She thought to herself, Why does Finar-si not show herself to us?
Had they truly been deserted by their creator?

Ripuka RP Future of the PrideKimaria Ripuka stalked back towards the dens with a grim expression on her face. Her mind was a muddle of thoughts; most of which involved a certain Goddess.
She had encountered a God many moons ago, a God who had stolen her away from her pride not by physical force but by his magic. He had taken away her identity and made her pride forget her existance. She had a distrust of deities for they meddled in ways that made her angry. Perhaps Finar-si did not show herself because she did not wish to meddle...or perhaps she just didn't exist.
No.
She couldn't think like that. She existed because of Finar-si, the great crimson Goddess who watched over them from some throne up above.
She had to believe that or she had nothing left to cling to.
"Round and round we go, yet the most certain thing about life is that it will end." She mumbled to herself as she reached the main densite and flopped down in the shade, "perhaps death will bring me to her. Yes...perhaps." Ripuka was in habit of talking to herself. Baneful Chomo was outside the densite himself, alone on the sand that lay in the shade of the stone, his forelegs crossed in front of him, tail curved around his body in an arch. He heard Ripuka's muttering from where he was but couldn't make out what she said. He glanced over, raising a brow at the vividly coloured female, wondering what troubled her so.
It seemed all too many of the Firekin were deeply troubled these days, the pride's cracks never fully smoothed over by a return to the desert. It pained him, pained him more than words could say that he slowly lost faith in the desert but never the desert-mother herself. Kimaria Ripuka had not noticed Chomo on approach for he had been lying at her blind side and it was only after her mumbling finished that she turned her head to scan the area for life.
Ah...a dark-pelted male, one she hadn't spoken to before, atleast she thought not.
"Injured I was, but not anymore!" She snapped, ears folding back as she lowered her head to lick at her foreleg from where she had bitten it previously. The wound was small and it did not hinder her but it stang a little if sand got into it.
"What is the world coming too when enemies heal one another!" Poor Chomo...perhaps he should turn away now. Ripuka was in one of her insane and confusing moods. Baneful Chomo frowned "I don't think the world could make any less sense if it tried. Enemies healing one another and breaking time honoured survival of the fittest rules would be just another chapter in the lack of order here." he really had grown tired of the breakdown of the pride he called Blood kin. It was unnoticable to most he found but to him it made him dissillusioned to the point that he was prepared to have his family leave the sacred lands of his forefathers and to head into the outside world once again.
He nodded to Ripuka. "Something isn't right in the sands." Kimaria "Quite right, quite right." Ripuka snarled to herself, annoyed too that the Pride had taken such a terrible turn for the worst. "Tradition is lost, respect for Finar-si gone. Perhaps that is why she refuses to show herself. She tested our faith and we failed..." For though her faith remained strong she had failed, for she had left the Pride and in doing so left the new generations uneducated.
"Trapped in quicksand, trapped and doomed to die." She gave a cackling laugh and paused to tend to her leg again.
"I educate the youngsters, the future heir in hopes that we will return to former strength...but...untamed they are. Untamed and flighty. Their loyalties lie not with the sand and pride but to themselves."
"Firekin have become selfish and weak. Where are the lions like you and me? Where are the lions with true fire burning in their hearts?"
Ripuka was in turmoil. She was held here only by her love for the desert but the pride that resided here were far from family now. She was alone in a land she had once thought a heaven. Baneful Chomo was glad to have found a lioness who understood the decay that seemed to come from within the pride, a lioness who reminded him of the elder females he had once known, powerful warriors with tales of the goddess to tell. He frowned "No doubt the great goddess is ashamed of what we have become, so fallen are the mighty Firekin that Finar-si cannot even look upon us." he gave her a nod, having seen first hand the self-driven new generation that looked set to lead the pride in the years to come.
They had not inspired great confidence in him. He smiled in a feral manner, his gentle nature pushed aside when words of the goddess were discussed.
"In the old days such arrogance would have been punished with claws and humiliation. We are all part of the same pride, treachery was always expected without but never within."
He flicked his tail and added sadly. "Where are they? I think the goddess called them all back to her side, leaving the rest of us to pick up the pieces as best we can." he had never been able to voice how forsaken he felt by the goddess he loved most dearly, she had taken his parents from him then with no explanation and refused to show her face to them.
"You say she tested us once? I say she tests us still." Kimaria Ah, so she was not alone in her thoughts. It was somewhat comforting to realise she was not the only one who could see the corruption in the youngsters. She had tried des[erately to swing them back to the ways of old but her words eemed to fall on deaf ears.
All except for one.
Young Kidondo who was heir to the throne. He had been keen to listen and understand, though she was sure that whilst he listened to tradition he also listened to corrupt ways too. That could prove a problem in the future. "Agreed, for now that the Pride is collapsing what use would there be for her return? I'm sure if she appeared to us now the younger of us would try to chase her away." She growled fiercely, gritting her teeth as the mental image brought with it an incredible surge of anger.
She listened to his saddened words, finding herself thinking back to her own parents. They had taught her everything she knew and they had perished at the jaws of plague. "Death....death will be a release." She murmered, almost wishing that the plague had taken her too.
"If she tests us still then I must use my life to try to return the pride to it's former glory. Perhaps it is an empty goal, but I must try to make up for past mistakes. I must try to make our kind see the light and follow it. I will not give up on the Pride I love."
If she did leave, where would she go? Would she return to her rogue life and face being hounded by others for the rest of her life? No. If she could not live here and be happy then she would die. Baneful Chomo nodded, anxious that if the goddess returned even his own beloved children would try to drive her off, they had been talking a lot lately of there being other gods and goddesses in the world outside and he had simply let them, not wanting to seem stuck in his ways and to drive them even further away.
But still part of him felt like a bad father.
He shook his head at her mention of death "I couldn't face death now, not with my cubs to look after. I would not leave them fatherless the way the plague left me. Besides, after all the time I've spent lost and away from these sacred sands, I don't think I could look the goddess in the eye any longer." His heart was that of a firekin, but in it's depths it held a love for the graveyard too.
Nodding to Ripuka, he smiled sympathetically "Then you take up the reins of a job I could never do. I have all but given up on the pride, seeing few redeeming qualities left behind, of what there is, there is every chance the corruption could quell it. I cannot have my family grow up in a land steeped so deeply in twisted tradition, so far from the truth I learned in my youth."
He sighed "There is every chance that my family and I will be leaving the deserts behind us and seeking pastures new. But no matter where I go, the goddess will always be my guide." Kimaria She smiled a genuine smile for a change and turned her gaze upon the sand that surrounded her. "No. I could never leave this place, not even if I wanted to. I am a part of the desert now and it is here that I shall live the rest of my life. The world of rogues is not one for me and my beliefs will forever keep me from other prides."
She let her tail fall still against the ground and breathed in a deep sigh, "There is no place left in the world for a believer in Finar-si especially now that my own Pride turns against her. If I give up on them now then I might as well give up on life itself."
At Chomo's last words she turned her head to look at him. It was sad, very sad to hear that one of the last /true/ Firekin might leave the lands. She cackled and moved to rest her head on her paws. "Then with your leave goes the last of our hopes. The Firekin have entered a new generation, one that will bring disaster upon us all."
She sighed, "tell me brother. What is your name?" Baneful Chomo listened to her words with both sadness and understanding, if he had never had the fortune (misfortune?) to end up in the graveyard when he did, he too would have ended up like Ripuka, tied by belief to the great desert, unable to fit anywhere else. Only in Ausha's pride were his Firekin beliefs encouraged, Ausha sharing similar veiws in terms of survival and bloodlines. "I always assumed the desert was constant, unchanging as Finar-si herself, but I suppose that in these dark days, outside influence has tainted our sanctuary beyond repair. " he sighed "Still, as long as your fire burns brightly Finar-si will still have one ember of hope in our pride."
Chomo looked slightly guilty at leaving the pride in such a state but added "I would have stayed behind if I felt I could make any difference to the corruption, but when even the royal line suffers what is a simple hunter to do? All I can hope to do is to save my family."
He bowed his head low "I am Chomo, son of Moto and Kimwitu born of the line of hunters."Kimaria She nodded with agreement and knew that in the end this desert would claim her life one way or another. Her heart constricted painfully and for a moment her body trembled as she fought to hold the tears back. A growl broke free from her throat and she shook her head violently from side to side, calming only when the bout of grief passed.
"Hope. Yes, strange that hope should lie in the paws of a mad creature." She cackled, letting her head fall roughly to her forepaws once more. "The corruption lies within the royal line themselves. For this Pride to change perhaps the royals should step down altoghether and let us not blinded by status rise up to lead them."
"It is a pleasure to meet you Chomo. I am Ripuka, only daughter of Paytah and Nui'lua. Not an ounce of royalty lines my veins but I am Firekin all the same and more so than our King and his family." It was not often that she was heard badmouthing her royals but she had had enough. Her Pride was dying and there had to be someone to blame.
"I will take my leave of you fire brother but come and seek me out before you turn tail of this place. I have plans to make and tell you." With that she was on her paws again and trotting across the sands, obviously eager to get somewhere.
Only time would tell what madness the femme was plotting.

Amari RP I'm Back!Kimaria Amari had just finished giving his son a hunting lesson and was now heading towards the waterhole for a drink. The sun beat down on his back as he lowered his maw and watched the water ripple beneath his lapping tongue.
A fly buzzed around his ears and he shook his head before continuing to drink, his rusty coloured tail twitching from one side to the other. Lightning Shadow X Sukutu padded from the main den's up on Pride Rock, he felt ancient, his children had grown up into adult's and it made him feel like an old fogie. He sighed and rolled his shoulder's back, shaking his creme main before padding toward's the water hole, paw's padding against the ground and making it crackle slightly under his weight.
As he started to approach the waterhole, he saw the rusty coloured figure and narrowed his eye's slightly. Now who was that? However as his memories clicked back into place, he blinked and laughed.
"I don't believe it, AMARI!" Kimaria Amari was definately no spring chicken but he hadn't got any grey hairs just yet! He'd only had one child and he'd lived a good life despite a few set backs. He was still alive and kicking and very much full of energy. In fact he planned to start yet another family as soon as his son was old enough to take care of himself.
The voice startled him and in a second he had whirled around to face Maawio's adoptive brother, his eyes lighting with recognition at the brown male.
"Sukutu! Uh yeah it's me." He gave a wide green and a laugh and loped forwards in a cubbish manner, his gait clumsy but energetic. "I'm back." Lightning Shadow X The large male padded toward's him and sat down as he saw the younger male lope forward, a chuckle escaping him. Amari had grown so much, it made him think about how old he was getting even more and how Maawio and his 'nephew' where doing. But he drowned his thought's for a moment and smiled.
"You rascal, it's been too long." He said, a grin on his face. "How are you?"
He was genuinely pleased to see the rusty male, because indeed it had been too long since he'd seen him. Kimaria He raised a paw and gave the lion a friendly cuff across the ear, jumping back and giving a playful growl. Yes he was still the same old Amari.
"Too long, yes. Didn't think I'd ever see yah again, not after i messed up things with Maawio." He smiled, "I met an old friend when I was wandering as a rogue and he talked some sense into me. I came back, apologised and Maawio forgave me."
He took a breath and nodded to himself. "Now I'm an official member of the pride and trying my best to be a good father to my son. How about you? How've you been?" Lightning Shadow X Sukutu laughed at Amari's antic's and smirked at him, he then placed a more stoic look on his face as he listened with interest to his old friend.
Wow, he had a fall out with Maawio? He never thought anything like that would happen, but a smile placed itself on his muzzle as he heard the end of the story.
He moved slightly while he sat to get more comfortable and smiled at him. "I've had a less interesting time then you, staying here and looking after my kid's and such, not exactly the adventure I've had." Kimaria "Kids...oh yeah your little devils." Amari joked light-heartedly. "I bet they're pretty big now aren't they?" He smiled softly, "I mean my little sprat is coming up to adolescence now and I'm pretty sure he's younger than your little army." He laughed, sitting down and scratching at the dirt with an extended claw.
"Time flies, don't it? It feels like just yesterday when I met you as a juvenile. You were getting to leave the Pridelands and travel the world a little bit and Maawio wanted to go with you, though she ended up staying a Pridelander in the end." He sighed at the memories.
"Things sure have changed but definately for the better." Lightning Shadow X Suku laughed softly. "Oh, they're big enough to take me down a peg or two, they're all adults now...make's me feel like an old fart." He then smiled at his old friend. "I bet he'll be fighting of the ladies with a stick by that age then."
He then nodded softly. "Yeah, it does seem like all of that happened in such a short a time, Maawio having your cub, now that was certainly a nice suprise." Kimaria He laughed aloud, shaking his head from side to side. He hadn't laughed so much in a long time and he was sure if he didn't stop soon his sides would split. Then finally when he calmed enough to speak he raised his head tog aze into the adult's violet eyes. "You ain't old buddy! If you were than that would make me old too and I darn well don't feel it."
He grinned, "feel young and you'll be young, that's my advice to you."
At his last comment he nodded, the smile slipping very slightly on his maw. Mbari had brought him such joy and yet such pain. "Yeah...it was scary at first...being a father I mean...but I'm getting used to it now. Hopign there'll be more cubs on the way if Maawio agrees, though don't tell her I said anything. She'd kill me!" He chuckled again. Lightning Shadow X The large male had to chuckle at his younger friend's laughing fit, before stretching slightly and looking into the younger males auburn eye's. He gave a soft hearted chuckle.
"Good advice, my friend."
He listened to Amari's next set of word's before raising his brow and then chuckling at him. "Well prepare yourself, you have 4 or 5 more cub's and you'll be in the same jam as I was when mine where little." He then smirked at him. "Never let them use your tail for teething...and don't worry I won't tell Maawio." Kimaria "Thanks pal." He winked and padded past the large male, pausing to gaze over his shoulder. "Well talking of my golden goddess I should go see if she's okay. I told her I wouldn't be long and I think a good long chat with her is necessary."
He chuckled, for laughing was something he loved to do. "Next time yah see me there might be more little-Amari's running around." And with a huge grin he turned and headed off towards Maawio's den, pausing again to call. "If you need me for anything you know where I am Suku ol' buddy and I'm sure Maawio would love to see yah again sometime."

Hakan'mawasii RP The Fiery RenegadeKimaria The adolescent lay draped casually over the warm surface of a rock that curved up out of the ground like a wave turned to stone by some unknown magic. The sun was still in its clim to its zenith; casting warm but comfortable rays down upon the Pridelands that lay stretched out below.
It was at the Pride's borders that this dark male relaxed, contemplating on things that were important to no one but himself.
He lowered his head to rasp his rough tongue across the back of a forepaw and with a comfortable sigh allowed himself to sink deeper into his meditation. Even a warrior needed some time out to ponder on the more peaceful things of life and despite his reputation Hakan wasn't all bad. He just wanted to prove to Mrost that he was strong, that he was capable and it was this - along with the desire to protect his family - that made him the bully that he was.
However, for once Hakan was in a relatively good mood. His mother was up and about today as were his siblings so for atleast a couple of hours he had no one to protect, no one to worry about. The feeling of being void of repsonsibility proved to suit him and the gentle smile that curved his maw transformed him into one who would appear safe to approach.
There were few in this world that Hakan treated kindly, but to those that he did he was a kind and loyal friend. Apart from his immediate family, Kizuka had been the first, a kindly creature who had warmed his heart and tamed his anger. Next had been Mrost - the God who he deemed a father and slowly but surely Mbaya too - though he accepted her for different reasons.
"Perhaps..." He mumbled to himself, "I should do some exploring of my own today seeing as I have some free time..." dustfeather Dhyn was out wandering again. She'd found a nice little den, away from pridal lands, to stake out as her home of sorts...but she didn't mind leaving it for days, even weeks on end. If she was there for too long, she'd only dwell moodily on her parents and her siblings that she'd never remembered meeting, and that got depressing after awhile. A little voice in her head has often commented that she should go out and look for them...but another, more cynical voice typically points out that finding them would be next to impossible. Besides, she'd probably be quickly disposed of if she went back to the Motoujamii.
She wonders where Finar-si's been these past many moons.
So one afternoon, a dark red lioness can be found padding her way aimlessly across the savannah after having eaten a good meal of zebra, finding herself on the Prideland borders and not really caring too much. She'd be in and out of here, probably, before any of the pride members would find out.
Or so she thought.
Dhyn pulls up short as she spots the very dark form of Hakan nearby, her eyebrows narrowing swiftly. As an adolescent male, she doesn't think he poses too much of a threat...still, she doesn't want to get into a fight, and where there's one lion, there are often others. They are a normally social species, after all. Warily, she continues her path, which will lead her right past Hakan. But she keeps her eye on him. Kimaria Hakan had dipped his head to continue washing his paws and did not notice the approaching ex-firekin until she had come close enough for her scent to be carried to him.
With a start his head jerked up, a growl at his throat - not as a warning but more in surprise. It was not often that one could sneak up on him without him knowing about it so this certainly was an unexpected turn of events.
It was as he settled his eyes upon the dark crimson figure however that he tensed suddenly. Her build, her colour...could she be from the Pride he had so recently visited? He hadn't thought that such narrow-minded creatures would have dared to leave their 'sacred desert' but if he was correct this creature was indeed a child of that so-called 'Finar-si'.
Some could say - and rightly so - that Hakan was in a way similar to the more traditionalist Firekins. He followed his God without questions and did whatever he asked and yet to Hakan his predicament was much different. Mrost appeared to him whilst this Finar-si character did not. For all he knew this Goddess so worshipped by the legendary warrior Pride did not even exist.
He stood then and stretched, being careful not to appear threatening. She may have been female but she looked strong and he was sure that if he picked a fight with her he'd definately aquire a few new wounds.
"You mean to walk by without saying a word? Or do you think yourself better than me because of your birthing?" Okay so he was assuming she was Firekin and if she wasn't he was sure that this stranger would put him right. dustfeather The question comes as surprise, a little; in all her years of traveling, she's never once been pinpointed back to her former pride. It unsettles her, enough so that she gives him a very cold look, pausing a few strides away from him. It can't hurt to be too cautious, and she has no particular wish to get into a fight today, even if weight is on her side. As she does so, she studies him. He's awfully dark for a Pridelander, but perhaps times have changed, or there was takeover by a dark rogue male, and this is one of the offspring.
"What do you care?" She demands, matching his tone. "It's not a crime, is it? It might've been rude of me to disturb you, whelp."
"And," she chuffs, adding in a slightly more subdued tone, "I'm a renegade of the Motoujamii, thanks very much." It's perhaps a bit reckless to say, but she doesn't, at this point, care. "I don't think I'm better than anybody because of my birth, but I might be a little better than some at common courtesy," she snaps. Kimaria "A renegade?" He repeated, one eyebrow arching. That certainly did capture his interest only because he thought the Firekin - or the Motoujamii as she had called it - were too set in their ways to ever leave the desert.
Such a thought prompted curiosity and excitement in him, for surely if one had left the Pride there would be others too. Firekin were known for their strength and such a trait would prove usefl for himself and his Master - the infamous God of War.
"There's no need to get snappy with me." He continued with a chuckle, "though your kind are known for their temper so I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. I was merely bored and wished to find company, it was just mere coincidence that you happened to pass by." Or was it...he thought silently to himself. Perhaps this was some sort of sign.
"So does the lioness have time to chat or must she come and go as quickly as a playful breeze?" He smiled. dustfeather The change in his mannerisms surprises her so much that she collapses onto her haunches, looking wrong-footed, puzzled, and a little sheepish. Her tailtuft twitches, as if it were trying to dislodge a particularly unwelcome fly; she didn't particularly like being associated with mother's former pride. Not privy to his inner thoughts, she is hasty to respond to his question.
"I'm not going anywhere," she says frankly. "So I do have time to chat, I suppose." She winces inwardly at the gracelessness of this statement, and so quickly follows it with a rather apologetic: "My name's Dhyn. I'm a bit of a wanderer in these parts." Kimaria "Hakan'mawasii. Rogue born. Pleased to meet you Dhyn." He paused a moment, seeming not to notice the way in which she spoke her words. Hakan himself was not often great with communication but when it was a matter of business he was always up for trying. The fact that he gave his full and true name was also something to be regarded - or so he thought - as an honour. For more often than not he would give false names with those he deemed strangers.
"It is not often that I am blessed with the company of one from far-away lands. So, tell me. What are you doing away from your desert in a place such as this? Did you give up your life of strength and power for one of pacifism?" He was keen to learn as much as possible about her. dustfeather That was a name and a half. She blinks, before resolving just to call him 'Hakan' after that...she wasn't going to remember the rest. She blessed her Aunt Mwezi for calling her something short and sensible.
At the questions, something akin to a smirk settles across her muzzle. "Not quite. I was one of the offpsring of one of the princesses there...but she had mated with a rogue and we were considered a bit of a blasphemy to the pride." This last is said with a sardonic drawl; a 'bit of a blasphemy' was an understatement. "The king - my dear old grandpa - supposedly went ahead and killed my mother, and would've killed me and my siblings, too, but my aunt Mwezi got me out of there alright." She doesn't mention Finar-si at all, mostly because she's not sure if she'd even be beleived if she did. In any case, she has her own mixed feelings about the goddess, and she figures that she's better without that one in her life anymore. In finishing, she rolls her shoulders into a shrug. "So, you see, I wouldn't be exactly welcomed back with open paws even if I did want to go back...which I don't. As far as I'm concerned, they're not my kin. Sp. you still a rogue, then? I wondered what had happened to the Pridelanders...thought they were mostly golden coated." Kimaria His name to him had a very important meaning. He was the 'fire guardian' and had been named appropriately by his mother. As he listened to Dhyn's story a note of familiarity rang in his mind. Her story - though holding some differences - could also be compared to his own.
"Your Pride seems so narrow-minded. They do not realise the strength of outsiders nor accept change. They fear what is different." He flicked his ears. "I will tell you something though Dhyn, I know a little of what you speak. My mother too was a part of that pride once, I have half brothers and sisters living in those lands which I have never met. I am half-blood too, though my mother never chose to mention it. I believe she shares some of your dislike for her old Pride."
He knew nothing of Kinja's background, or her life before her pelt was changed. Of life when she was Kimondo; a Pridelander whose pelt was as gold as his own brother's. As far as he was concerned, Firekin blood was in his veins and would probably believe this for the rest of his life unless told otherwise.
"Pridelanders on the other paw are more disgraceful." He sneered, "they need to be cut down and slaughtered...every last one of them." His vendetta against the peace loving lions was something that had begun since his cubhood and would probably remain with him for life. dustfeather "It's ironic, really, since Finar-si is the goddess of change." The words are out of her mouth before she even thinks about them, and they startle her. Now that Hakan's pointed it out...why are the Motoujamii so set in their traditions? It just didn't make sense, with their patron goddess. She frowns, brow furrowing as she stares at nothing in particular. It's worth some further thought...but it's not her problem, it's nothing to do with her.
At his story, she eyes him curiously. A half-blood, like her? And half rogue...well, there's little wonder where they got their wandering streaks from. "Interesting...I didn't know there were any others. I was under the impression that desertion was punished by death." Maybe her grandfather died and someone else was in charge of the pride...one of her uncles, maybe? Or a cousin? The thought is unsettling. Whatever the case, it looks as if they're losing control over the pride if lionesses are deserting so easily. Or...maybe things are changing.
His next statement is met with a cautious stare. "Cut down and slaughtered? That's rather...extreme. What makes you say that? It can't be weakness, they can't have held their lands for so long by being weak." Kimaria Hakan's eyes glittered at the new information, a Goddess of Change indeed. "Perhaps that's why the Goddess does not appear to them, perhaps she desires change and her poor blinded followers cannot." Though with half-bloods cropping up perhaps there was a change in progress. "Either way, it isn't our problem, I don't intend to be tied down to a Pride. Ever." He was adamant to be independant until the end.
He gave a small shrug at her next comment, "no idea, all I know is that mother left for some reason. She doesn't talk about it and I haven't had the heart to bring up the subject. I have the idea that perhaps her mate died and that is why she left the lands. Heartbreak can do strange things to a lion."
He laughed at the look she gave him over his comment about the Pridelanders, taking the time to flex his claws and sit back slowly on his haunches. "On the outside they may seem like harmless creatures who would do no harm to anyone. I'm telling you now that they aren't all kindly. I know atleast three or four lions living there that have done terrible things. Attacking my sister and getting my best friend pregnant for one thing." He didn't seem to realise he couldn't judge a whole pride by a couple of it's members. "Their strength lies in their size, the Pridelands has many members." Mkodi "Maybe," she agrees readily, but personally she thinks it's more because Finar-si was a bit of an idiot. She offers a vague "Mmm" at the news about Hakan's mother; Dhyn's never been in love and would have no idea of how heartbreak would feel.
But she's able to pick up the thread of conversation again when he comments on the Pridelanders. "I suppose you get bad ones no matter where you go. And if they're so big, their rulers probably have a bit of a problem keeping track of them," Dhyn notes philosophically. "Probably one of the reasons why I'm not in a pride," she adds darkly. "Your fellow lions would be a bloody nuisance half the time." Plus, she adds privately to herself, she doesn't like to take orders from anyone, particularly a king or queen. She supposes Hakan is probably the same...he doesn't strike her as someone who would be particularly obedient. "But you're right, it's probably best to stay away from the larger ones." Kimaria He nods slowly, already finding himself liking this female. They were the same in many ways and it had been a long time since Hakan had met someone who he could familiarise with. In fact he had spent hardly any time making friends in an effort to aid Mrost with his cause.
In a way he was serving a pride by recruiting allies for thhe War God, but he didn't like to think of it as that. Mrost gave him strength and he gave it in return, it was a give and take relationship and Hakan respected the blue male more than any other.
"Which goes to show how stupid their ruler is for letting more lions in when he can't keep track of them. I've heard he's weak and frail anyway, probably too old to know any better. I'd kill him myself if I could be bothered but I seem to be quite busy now-a-days and I'm sure such an act would put myself and my family at risk." And he couldn't ever do that.
"Prides have never captured my interest, I intend to remain a rogue for as long as I live."
He paused and gave a small sigh, "Dhyn..." He began slowly, "what are your thoughts on the deities? Do you despise them or do you see their worth?" It seemed like a bit of a random question, but it was one that he asked of all who crossed his path and seemed worthy enough. Mkodi She shrugs. "Maybe he thinks that that'll solidify his position, if he makes enough allies. If he's old, like you say, he's probably worried about some young male coming into his turf and taking over. But if his lionesses are loyal enough to him, they'll fight off any contenders without him having to lift a paw." She's never met the king of the Pridelands, and only a few of it's members...and that was long, long ago.
Her gaze darkens a bit at the casual tone he takes with potential murder, but she shrugs it off uneasily...after all, he's still young yet, and the young tend to say stupid things like that. Heavens knew, she did.
The question does not surprise her as much as it might have done, once, but it is a loaded one. She's never considered it too deeply, however...probably because she's been too close to Finar-si. "I've...er...only met one," she says, fumbling a little in her honesty. "That one didn't really strike me as too incredibly...well, I mean..." She takes a minute to gather herself up, frowning a little as she looks at the adolescent. "From what I gathered, they don't tend to care about us as...ourselves. More for our worth and what we can do for them than anything. This is just what little I've seen, understand, but I think they're...well...self-centered. And a bit like a cub with a favorite dead mouse or stick that they carry around all the time. They don't care if they beat it up or not, but if anybody else touches it, they throw a fit." Kimaria "You're probably right. Safety in numbers and all that. Still...I don't think he has to worry, as you say he would have many lionesses who would protect him."
Hakan was not a murderer, in fact he had come close to killing enemies numerous times before only to set them free. He did not want the blood of others on his paws unless there was no other option. He talked big but really he was more of a bully, showing off his strength at every opportunity.
He listened to her explanation with interest, suddenly realising that she could very well be correct. She almost described Mrost perfectly and that worried him. "Interesting." He replied finally, letting his eyes meet hers as he mulled over the words she spoke. "You could very well be right and with power such as theirs it's only to be exected. Creatures of power tend to seek more power, though that could be said for some of us mortals...myself included in that perhaps." He smiled, "I too have met a God, a God that holds much power." There was obvious admiration in his tone, "but unlike most Gods who hide away he appears often and he helps those who believe in him. We help one another on occasion, he gifts me training to increase my strength, offers me advice and wisdom. He was even the one who took me to the Firekin lands and placed an illusion upon me so that I could walk with relative safety. His gifts do not come without service of course but what I do for him comes with it's rewards."
He paused, "he would welcome someone as strong as yourself if you deem it. His believers are not a Pride, we are not gifted ranks. We are warriors and equals. In a way we are family." dustfeather It rather pleased her that someone thought her opinion worth listening to; nevermind that she's had experience with the subject before. As he expands on her theory, she listens quietly, even intently.
She shakes her head, however, at the offer. "No thanks. I'm not one to care for owing anybody else a debt," she explains, with a wry smile to show that she meant no offense. "Nor for following orders from anyone else but me." One thing she did inherit from her mother, if nothing else, was a sense of pride...maybe self-centeredness, really, but she's not about to listen to anyone who doesn't think of themselves as an equal to her.
"Just curious, though...but this god of yours, what's he god of?" To Dhyn, this is important. From what she's seen of Finar-si, gods tend to have a lot of the personality that their 'domain' is...which is probably why she finds her dealings with the goddess terribly frustrating. Finar-si enjoys changing her mind about every little thing, and expects Dhyn to keep up with her without a qualm. Kimaria He nods in complete understanding, knowing she would turn down the offer before she even replied. She was freedom, she was wanderer and she had pride.
She was - in his firm and honest opinion - a true lioness and he found himself admiring her for such strength.
"Sometimes I think if I turned back time I would turn down the offer of the God I serve, but the past is history and cannot be changed. I have to live with the decision I made as a cub or face the death of my family." Strangely Hakan seemed to care about what this female thought of him and at her question on Mrost he shifted uncomfortably.
"He is..." he could not lie, "the God of War." He let his eyes fall to settle upon his dark paws, "I met him here a long time ago at the verge of a waterhole. We spoke and he saw in me something which could be of use. I pledged loyalty to him and in return he would give me strength, a strength that would enable to protect my mother and siblings from danger." He had never told anyone this before. "But if I ever show doubt or falter on my path then the God himself will kill my family. So you see I am tied to him as he is tied to me. He needs me to give him power and I need him so my family can remain safe and sound." dustfeather She almost chokes on the revelation. He had allied himself with the god of war? Wasn't that, well, dangerous? It's a good thing the adolescent male is looking at his paws, for it takes a moment for Dhyn to compose herself again, her incredulous look downgrading into only mild amazement. There's a number of things on the tip of her tongue, from "Are you crazy?" to a rather sarcastic "Well, I bet that certainly makes life interesting for you..." but she instead settles for something a bit less dramatic. "God of War...sounds like it'd be a little dangerous." She's struggling to catch up with the rest of what he says, but she's not really surprised at the extremes the god would go to in order to get believers. He was the god of War, after all. And, provided Hakan was loyal, she couldn't see much reason for this god of War to kill him. Still... "You probably know this already," she begins, hesitant to say what's on her mind for fear of belittling him, but needing to say it nevertheless, "but you really ought to be careful. War isn't the best of companions. Maybe this god won't hurt you...but that hardly matters if you're in that profession. And war breaks minds...and hearts. Your family might be in danger already just because you're with him. Can't you...can't you ever get out of it?"
She wonders why she's bothering. But she herself was tired of being tied to Finar-si...in a much less suicidal way than this young male was, but tied just the same. It's like a fist had slowly decided to close over her heart. They shouldn't be allowed to do that...not mess with lives. Confused and a little angry at herself for caring, she lapses into silence. Kimaria At her reply he decided to raise his head to gaze at the adult. It is quite clear in his eyes that he knows the foolishness of his actions and yet he knew he could not show regret. Mrost would never forgive him and if he dared falter he would lose not only his family but the respect of the God he loved and his futuretitle of High Priest.
No. No matter what Hakan couldnot turn back. His fate had been sealed and there was nothing more to be said on the matter.
"I know...I know war is a terrible thing but...I needed to do it. I'm stronger now than I would have ever been in my life if it were not for the God. He may rule over a harsh element but he is not so cruel that he does not care for his followers." He drew in a long breath and tipped his head up to gaze at the sky. "He teaches me and guides me. He is the father I never had and though it may be hard to believe, I love him and look up to him as a son."
"He is my father, though not in the traditional sense. He raised me, aided me, he made me who I am. To let him down would be to let myself down and with his help I can protect those I love."
He shook his head, his eyes softer and more kindly than they'd ever been before. "I'm stuck as his apprentice until I take my final breath. If I turn from him now my family will be slaughtered and life would no longer be worth living." dustfeather A soft little sigh escaped her; she had not really expected him to say he could easily wriggle his way out of it. She struggles, momentarily, with the concept of a god being like a father...Finar-si definitely was no mother to her, or any other relation. She felt no kinship to the goddess of change, despite being her descendent.
"I suppose," she says, a little awkwardly. "I hope it works out for you." At this, she's sincere; even having just met Hakan, she likes him. "I - well, I've had some dealings with a goddess before." She wonders if she could somehow convince Finar-si to grant this Mrost a favor, and let the youth and his family go...but she doesn't want to be in Finar-si's debt. She values her freedom too much, especially much more than a stranger's. Kimaria "I'm sure it will. I have many thinks I want to accomplish in my life and I'm sure that with the God's help I can achieve them." He grinned darkly, a shadow falling over his eyes. One would quite easily be able to tell that what he was planning wasn't very nice.
The thought of massacre flittered briefly through his mind and an image of Priderock barren and destroyed soon followed.
However at her next words he snapped from this ghoulish thoughts and moved to curl his tail around him, the dark tuft falling to lie cradled in his forepaws.
"Dealings with a Goddess? I assume by your tone and previous conversation that it couldn't have been good. I admit some of them are probably troublesome but I am sure just as there are bad immortals there are good ones too. There has to be a balance."
He paused, "but tell me, who was this Goddess?" He was keen to learn about the deities. dustfeather The dark red lioness is taken aback at the look, then seems to decide, on further reflection, that she doesn't want to know.
He's been honest to her - or at least, as far as she can tell he has been - so she feels no qualms in letting him know something she's let nobody else know. After all, it couldn't hurt, and the goddess never actually said to not tell anyone else. A little guilty feeling in doing so, however, makes her think that perhaps it was implied. Still - "Finar-si. Goddess of Change. And no, it wasn't, much. And I think all of the gods are troublesome," she adds darkly. "That's the impression I get from her and this God of yours." Kimaria He flicks his ears idly and let's his eyes focus solely upon her. It was very strange indeed to hear a Firekin talk badly about their Goddess. Very strange indeed.
He actually laughed then, the sound more pleasant than he had meant it to be.
"You know. I never thought I'd see the day when a Firekin talks badly of Finar-si. To be honest I don't know much of her and I certainly don't have any love for her but I thought it was in a Firekin's genes to worship her. Was she not the one who created your kind?"
He laughed again, quieter this time, "perhaps her name was made sacred only by stories that were changed overtime to make her seem more wonderful than she actually is?" dustfeather "Ex-Firekin," she corrects, but looks slightly more cheerful as she says it. "And yes, she was. She's my great-great-great...well, I won't go into the details, but she's my ancestor of sorts." At his last statement, she laughs, dryly. "I think that about all gods, actually. I mean, the stories probably start out fine...but over the years they get really twisted. Finar-si would say that's because mortals love a good story...and that's one thing I am inclined to agree with her on." She rolls her shoulders back into a shrug, not elaborating, her look dipping back into moodiness. Kimaria "Ex-Firekin." He repeated with a nod, his grey muzzle curving upwards with a smile. This Dhyn definatley didn't want to be thought of as one of the desert pride that was for sure. Well he didn't mind either, he didn't blame her for wanting to be free, to be a rogue. It was the same thing he wanted.
"It's only to be expected, lions exaggerating sections or adding things they thought would sound good. Stories rarely comply to truth but I agree, they are fun to listen to."
He sighed, "actually, my mother Kinja told me a tale not long ago. She told me a story of death, though it's not as violent as it sounds. She spoke of the stars being the lights of great lions long dead. They supposedly watch down on their Prides and loved ones from up there. I find it hard to believe but it's a comforting thought."
How ironic that Hakan was sharing and liking a religion which was believed by the Pridelanders he so hated. dustfeather "Hmm, I never thought about anything like that," Dhyn says, a little apologetically. The only religion she's heard about has been bits of pieces of Finar-si's (and always only things that show the goddess in a good light, something Dhyn was quick to pick up on and critisize). She doesn't believe it, anyway. She's not quite sure where she'll go when she dies, but she supposes she'll find out when she gets to that point. "Stories nearly always have a grain of truth to them, but it's impossible to know what it is unless you were actually there yourself. Sometimes they become so warped in the telling that they become different things entirely." But she does smile. "I like listening to them, though. My aunt, Mwezi...she told me a lot of tales when I was younger. All about Finar-si, of course, for my aunt doesn't know about anything else...but still, they were good stories."
Her brooding look deepens as she glances to the horizon. "She wants me to change things," the lioness says irritably, clearly meaning Finar-si rather than Mwezi. "All I really want is to settle down and have a family someplace." dustfeather "Hmm, I never thought about anything like that," Dhyn says, a little apologetically. "All I really want is to settle down and have a family someplace." Kimaria He smiled gently as he listened to her, understanding parts of what she said. "That is true, though I always think of stories as entertainment rather than fact. To enjoy them as they are is nice." His words were laced with a purr now as he became more relaxed in her company. She wasn't ike the annoying hyperactive lions who kept bugging him - probably because she was older and wiser.
In a way she reminded him of his mother, just wanting to live how she pleased without having to contend to others, obey rules and serve ones who thought themselves higher up in rank.
"Change things in your Pride you mean?" This must have been one of the reasons that bugged her about Finar-si and he could not help but notice how she seemed to grow more serious when speaking about the deity. It was her last phrase that definately reminded him of his mother and he now decided fully that he could trust Dhyn with anything and everything.
"That sounds like a pleasant life to lead. Sometimes the most simple of existances can be the most rewarding. Those like me who fight for fame and honour are the ones who suffer, another reason why I sometimes regret my choice." dustfeather 'Well, that's what they're meant for. Besides teaching cubs lessons, that is," she adds, a soft smile curling her lips. At the question, she nods, then shrugs, then stops. "Sort of. Not just the pride, but in other places, too. Finar-si," she says, whimsically, "...is sort of a grand thinker. But the problem with being a goddess of change is that she does change, constantly, in mind. In any case, she hardly ever gets anything done about it, which means she mucks about with our lives just as badly as most gods seem to."
If she were a pridal lioness, or a normal rogue, she would have had her first litter of cubs by now. Instead, she has conversations with a half-crazy old lioness who can't remember her name half the time, and a goddess who tries to persuade her that she can 'save the world' - nevermind the fact that the goddess is very vague on who, precisely, she'll be saving. Dhyn strongly suspects that some lions will get the short end of the bone, or none at all. "Fame and honor are overrated. Being a part of a family and having others to care for...those are more important things." It's natural that she should think so, however, never having actually had one. "But your life does sound a little more exciting." She grins. Kimaria "That sounds like a big job for just one lioness. To be honest I think that's what my Master wishes too, though he's gathering lions from all over to join his cause. Though since his element his war it would only seem natural of him to want an army."
"This Finar-si sounds like she's a bit...mad if you ask me. Though once again perhaps that's because of her element rather than herself. Changing all the time must mean chaos I'd imagine."
He listened to her ideas on family and found his heart warming slightly, "I've never really thought about having a family, though that's probaby because I'm still young." It was true that Hakan was very much one for families, though having his own cubs was somewhat daunting. "Maybe one day though I can't help but worry that any children of mine would somehow get caught up in the web of war. I don't want the same thing to happen to my cubs that happened to me."
"Exciting is one word for it." He laughed, flicking the mane from his eyes. "Though there are many other...unpleasant words that could be associated with such a concept." dustfeather The red lioness shakes her head at the incomprehensible (or perhaps all too comprehensible) actions of the gods. "That's just ridiculous. We're each only one lioness - or lion," she says, with a nod in his direction. "And as heroic as taking on the world seems, it also tends to be a little suicidal."
She grins. "She is. A bit mad, anyway. She'd get along great with the god or goddess of chaos, if there is such a thing. Well, maybe...I'm under the impression that the gods don't do too well in groups. All that conflicting power, and everything."
This time, the grin Dhyn gives Hakan is rather feral. "I'm not letting Finar-si anywhere near my children." She doesn't want the cubs growing up, and perhaps being swayed, by any gods or goddesses. It was lucky, perhaps, that she had inherited her mother's reckless streak, and her aunt had been around as a living role model of what truth and legend did to you. "And I hope, if you ever have offspring, that the god of war never knows about it."
"At least it's never a dull moment," she murmurs, but she also looks amused. "And life can't be perfect, and all that. If it was, I just don't know what I'd do with myself." Kimaria "Suicidal is right but I don't plan on dying any time soon." He sounded adamant but there was also somethnig else there, apprehension perhaps?
"I'm definately not jealous of the deities, it sounds like they lead lonely and troublesome lives to me. Where is family and friends for them? It seems non-existant really."
He finds himself grinning as she does and nods slowly, like all females it seemed when the time came she too would be protective of her little ones. "Life can't be perfect, no. Nothing is perfect in my opinion. I just hope that somehow when the time comes and we both find ourselves with youngsters of our own that no Gods or Goddesses think it their right to meddle with their lives."
He got up then and shook himself, turning his head to gaze off to the west in the direction of his mother's den. It was becoming more crowded in their now but none of the siblings had yet wanted to leave their mother's side. They were all too fond of her.
"I'm sorry to cut this meeting short but I've been gone a little too long from my family. My den is just to the west of here if you ever wish to find me again." And with that he stepped back, bowed his head in respect and turned to lope slowly off.

Hakan'mawasii RP A Pridelander and a miniature MrostKimaria Well it seemed the last few days had proved rather interesting. First he and his brother had teamed up to show an overly large rogue a thing or two and then he had bumped into a Firekin whom he had found a connection with. He sincerely hoped that he met Dhyn again only because he felt he could tell her anything. He had released a lot of worries and concerns in their short meeting and it had left him feeling lighter and refreshed.
In fact this was the second day in a row that Hakan had been feeling happy and it was this mood that saw him trotting closer to Prideland borders than usual.
He was hoping to meet up with Kizuka as he hadn't seen her recently and was loping through the tall grass in an effort to pick up her scent. It was under a tree that he finally picked it up and decided to take a breather before he followed it.
Humming contentedly to himself he let his tail flick slowly from side to side with the beat as he gazed around him. Being here did put him a little on edge but he was sure if any Pridelanders did come his way he could surely send them skittering back to their comfy little cave. Taejira Amleth slunk along, looking side to side as she went. She wasn't meant to be here; Tanaka and Kiuma had told her to stay by the tree.. but they had been gone so LONG! She figured a bit of wandering wouldn't go amiss...
Peeking up out of the tall grass, the juvenile spotted Hakan's dark form a bit of a ways away. She sniffed, and lifted herself off of the tummy-on-the-ground position she had been in. Padding lightly towards the darker lion, she perked her ears... curiously, cautiously...
"Hello...?" Baneful Vitashki was bored of a decadent life, the pridelands were plentiful and comfortable, rolling grasses and easy sunlight, it didn't sit well with her nature at all, in fact it rubbed her all the wrong ways. She wanted thrills, risks, enjoyment, not a life where the highlight of the day was a hunt of fat lazy animals who didn't even put up a fight. It was for this reason that this particular day she had made a decision to strike out to the borders, who knew, she might even meet someone who wasn't a pridelander.
Even if she didn't it was a walk regardless and kept her moving, anything that did that put her one pawstep closer to finding her grandfather.
She grinned to herself as she approached the edges of the pridelands, now THIS was wild country she decided, still unaware that there were places in the world where even the long grasses edging the pridelands would be considered luxuriant. Kimaria Hakan's humming stopped the instant he heard the greeting and as a habit moved to stand to attention, fur raising ever so slightly along his shoulders.
No...he wasn't the best at greetings.
"Who're you?" He barked, brows furrowing at the approaching female, oh what a charmer he was! And this was him in a good mood? Oh dear... "You shouldn't go sneaking up on people, it's not very polite you know." His tail flicked and for a moment it looked like he was going to say more. That was until he caught another scent on the wind. It teased at his nostrils with the faintest touch of familiarity but with differences that made him sure there was another stranger about.
Great...was Kizuka really worth all this hassle? Taejira Amleth yelped and lowered her body to the ground almost instinctively - she was used to people who used that tone of voice also rather enjoying using their claws - and then peered back up at Hakan hesitantly.
"I.. I'm sorry," she replied haltingly, "I didn't mean to sneak." he didn't seem to mean any actual harm, but it was always best to be careful...
"I'm Amleth," she answered obidiently, glancing in the direction he had, and spotting the blue shape approaching that was Vitashki. Baneful Vitashki was only familiar with the scents of her siblings and parents and it was for this reason that when she picked up on a mix of other scents, ones that were nothing like any of the ones she was used to she was put immediately on edge. It was one thing to come out here looking for lions and quite another thing altogether to find them.
She almost turned back, almost, but to do so would be the height of cowardice and for some reason in the maze of skewed and tilted morals that littered her mind, cowardice seemed like an unforgivable crime. Steeling herself she plodded onwards towards the scents, cursing her small stature for her inability to see the lions she headed towards.
For all she knew they could be aware of her already and be getting ready to strike.
She picked up her pace, eventually emerging from the grasses to where Hakan and Amleth stood, as she did so seeming to study them in detail, a defiant and tiny lioness. Without even waiting to say hello she stated "I'm not disturbing anything, am I?" before adding a familiar smirk that basically stated that she could care less if she was. Kimaria The female's response to his questions was somewhat distubring - if only because he had expected a little defiance. He was used to others using an angered tone with him in return...not...not this. One would think that a bully like Hakan would have liked to be obeyed in such a manner but in all honesty he found it disturbing.
It took him a while to respond but when he did his voice was kinder than it had been before.
"Apology accepted." He sat himself down again and turned his head to scan the area for the other stranger, eyes focusing upon movement in the grass. Smoeone small approached that was for sure.
"Well Amleth I would give you my name but I do not give it easily. You'll have to earn that honour. Tell me...why do you cower so? Do you have no respect for yourself?" He snapped and would have continued if the cub had not chosen then to emerge from the grass just ahead of him.
His eyes visibly widened into an expression of shock as his eyes traced the form of the blue-pelted cubs with swirls that so resembled...him. She was a cub and she was female but the familiarities in her were unmistakeable.
This definately was a surprising turn of events.
"No, you weren't." He finally replied, gathering his wits about him. Taejira Amleth relaxed visibly as his voice became less harsh, and she attempted a smile, seating herself and wrapping her tail around her spotted haunches.
Earn his name? What a strange lion! Not very friendly.. but then, he didn't seem to want to hurt her, so that was alright.
"I.." she blinked. She was smaller than he was, and he had seemed angry..why NOT cower? "I was just afraid you were might hurt me," she admitted, ears flattened to her skull. She looked round as Vitashki emerged, and nodded in agreement with Hakan's response. She did not know Mrost, and so her reaction was vastly different than the other lion's. Pleased to see a cub, someone who looked even younger than herself, she smiled brightly. "Hello!" Baneful Vit was simply pleased that after a few moments she hadn't been eaten yet, perhaps there really had been nothing to worry about, though she wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet. Hakan's look of surprise threw her slightly, leaving her wondering what it could have been about her that seemed to startle him so, it certainly wasn't her stature, she was only a tiny cub, positively dwarfed by the dangerous looking adolecent.
Still, she tried to look as regal as her mother often did when she sat herself down, curving her tail around to rest at her feet. "That's good to hear."
As Ameleth addressed her, she nodded deciding to be civil for now, it always paid to be nice to lions who were bigger than you and had sharp teeth even if at that particular moment they didn't look inclined to use them. "Hello."
She just hoped she didn't look too obviously pridelander for these (in her opinion - rough and tough rogues) "I'm Vitashki by the way."Taejira "Hello, Vitashki," Amleth replied with a smile. Once she'd gotten over her initial fear of Hakan, she turned out to be quite friendly, and besides, she was quite pleased to see another cub..she hadn't in absolute ages. "I'm Amleth." She added, in case the blue lion hadn't heard her introduce herself to Hakan. She glanced back at the dark lion as he spoke, looking mildly confused. He was an odd one, that was for sure.
"Alright," she replied agreeably, not bothering to wonder why he seemed so unfriendly.
Gazing up over the land towards the Pridelands, where Vit had come from and Hakan had been heading, she perked her ears.
"Are you from the Pridelands?" She asked, glancing at the other two curiously. Baneful Vit snorted dismissively at Hakan's comment on her pelt, in her eyes it was a double edged sword, on the one hand it was proof to her that she carried the blood of this celestial and unknown grandfather of hers but on the other it was not useful at all for hunting unlike the green pelts of her siblings which would most likely serve them well someday in hunting and concealment. "Interesting it might be, camoflage it isn't. It's the same colour as my dad's fur, cept he doesn't have the swirlies." Swirlies was the only word she'd been able to come up with "He doesn't like them though, I can tell, says they remind him of my grandpa."
She distractedly played with the white tuft on her tail, her dark eyes on the ground. "I like it though. I want to be like grandpa , not dad, dad's weak."
As Amle introduced herself she turned her gaze back up at her, smiling slightly, Vit might have considered herself strong and an individual but she still appreciated friendliness in others. "Good to meet you." Following her gaze towards the pridelands she nodded "Yeah, I'm from there. It's Bor-ing." Kimaria "Pridelands? I don't think so. It is an insult to be compared with those weak, pathetic creatures." Hakan snapped, the words hissing past his fangs. "If it's so boring there why don't you leave? Pridelanders are worthless creatures and one day they're all going to die anyway so you might as well get out before that happens."
It was then time that he adressed the second issue, "do you happen to know your grandfather's name?" He was obviously very interested in that fact. He could guess that it was indeed Mrost but he didn't want to jump to conclusions so soon. Taejira Amleth looked very taken aback by Hakan's response. This was certainly not her experience, Kiuma was a Pridelander.. and she was quite strong.. to the point of being alarming. Though not as strong as Tanaka, but he was... Amleth wasn't sure. Different, somehow. She tactfully said nothing to his outburst, instead commenting on Vit's bright swirls.
"I like them, they're quite nice," she said, extending a forepaw delicately to bat at one. They looked as though they could fly right off that blue background of her fur. Baneful
Vit frowned at Hakan's acidic comment on the Pridelanders, she herself didn't think too highly of them but again it was a case of lions who lived there having some sort of right to dislike the others but outsiders disliking them was an attack on them all. She didn't dispute this fact however, just looked slightly displeased. "Leave? And where would I go? I'm not even old enough to hunt yet." she raised a brow, puzzled by his comment on how they would all die one day "You sound like dad, he's always saying nonsense like that. No one's sick in the pride, why would anything harm them?" She was still young and naive to the fact that there were lions out there who would gladly kill all she called her own.
"Granpa? Well I've never met him and my dad doesn't let me ask about him. I've only ever heard him talk about him once or twice, at night when we are all meant to be fast asleep and he mutters in his dreams. I don't know if his name is War , Murauusst or something else." she flicked her ears back. "Whoever he is dad doesn't want me seeing him, ever. I think they had a falling out over something silly"
She flicked her tail happily at Amleth "I like them too, think they are pretty. I just wish my dad would see that. Sometimes I think he thinks I'm ugly, he always looks at my brother and sister all smiles but when he looks at me he looks sad, horribly sad."Kimaria He enjoyed the look of shock on Amelth's face but said nothing more on it. Instead he placed a calm smile on his face and tipped his ears towards the cub.
"Where would you go? Well I can think of some places, but you're right. Hunting for someone so little is indeed quite impossible. Though I have a feeling you won't be in the Pridelands all that much longer." He chuckled and the sound wasn't exactly pleasant.
"His name is Mrost and you'd do well to remember it. He is a lion who deserves respect whether he is a relative or not." It was with this statement that he confirmed his knowledge of the God but he wouldn't give any other details just yet.
"You say your father is weak, it is only understandable why Mrost would hate him. He is a failure, a disgusting creature who doesn't deserve to be called a lion." The words were harsh and he had no idea how Vit would react to them but Hakan didn't care. His loyalties would always remain with his Master.
"Sounds like he's jealous that you might become stronger than he, more worthier in the eyes of the God of War. You don't need a father like that." Taejira Amleth smiled at Vit again. She liked the blue cub, who seemed calm and sensible. "He shouldn't do that," She comforted, once again admiring the markings. "Even if they remind him of your grandpa, that doesn't mean he has to take it out on you!" she nodded and stared back at Hakan. He seemed so angry... and to say such things about Vit's father, in front of her! Did he even know her father? It appeared he knew this "Mrost"... but still, his words were very harsh, especially when aimed towards a cub like Vit. She frowned.
"That doesn't sound very fair..." she replied weakly, unable to not say anything after Hakan's outburst. "After all, he is her father..." Baneful Vit's eyes went wide at the realisation this shadowy rogue knew of her grandfather, the lion she'd been looking for all this time! With such a strange name surely it couldn't just be coincidence? Nevertheless she was now officially interested in what this lion had to say. No one in the pridelands had even heard of this mystery lion before and she had been starting to think what she overheard a lie. "Really?" she asked, marvelling at the idea of having anything to do with a lion who commanded such respect, in her mind her grandfather must have been a great hero, a lion rescuing those in need, feeding the hungry and other things of the hero stereotype, she had no clue as to his real nature. "Mrost." she said committing the name to memory with a smirk.
However she looked worried at Hakan's blunt statements about her father, as if she too was being tarred with those sharp comments, tainted by her relation to her dad. Was he really that bad? So vile and repulsive as to have been cast out by his own father? For a moment she was torn in her young mind, torn between what this lion said, the supposed truth of a lion who was a failure and her own memories of the times when he'd picked her up with a smile after a fall or when he'd given her a big blue hug when she was scared. He was weak but in that perhaps lay his strength? She looked at her paws guiltily "You are probably right, I just hope that I'm not the same way, I want grandfather to like me"
But jealousy? She'd never have guessed. Perhaps it was because of jealousy that her father seemed to become snappish and nasty at night time, maybe only then he showed his true colours. She looked hurt, hurt deeply by the prospect that her father might simply be out to make her feel bad, a traitor from within her family. She narrowed her eyes, suppressing childish tears. She shook her head at Amleth "No, he's right, my dad doesn't care about me, he's just jealous." She didn't even know what he'd be jealous of but was just so confused by it all that she accepted it as truth. "He doesn't love me so I don't love him. I'll find Mrost someday, he'll understand."
She looked up at Hakan, her innocence already twisted so easily by a few words, gaze pleading. "You have to know where I can find him." Kimaria He winced again at Amleth's words and cursed silently. What was it about this femme that made him feel guilty about his mean traits? He turned his eyes to gaze at her pelt and sighed.
"I do wish you'd stop trying to make me feel bad, guilt doesn't do well for the soul." He huffed and moved to lay down, crossing his forepaws in a casual gesture.
He took his time replying to Vit but there was a sparkle of glee in his eyes. He was thoroughly enjoying teasing this cub with the slithers of information he could give.
Curiosity did kill the cat...or so the saying went.
"Oh, I'm sure he'll be very pleased with what he sees." He said with a flick of his whiskers. In all honesty he wasn't quite sure how Mrost would react. If this child was the spawn of a hated son surely his Master would not want anything to do with her, not in a friendly way atleast. Though if she did show qualities that would prove useful maybe Mrost would find this information interesting.
"Mrost is an unpredictable God, no one - not even those who know him - can tell you where he is. He goes where he pleases and does as he pleases. Though..." He trailed off here, leaving Vit hanging, "next time I see him I could pass on word of your existance." Taejira Amleth's eyes softened as Vit spoke. She sounded so sad.. She didn't know Vit's father, but she certainly hoped it wasn't true that he didn't love her..
She placed a comforting paw gingerly on the blue cub's shoulder in a manner that she hoped was reassuring and not an invasion of her space. "I'm sorry." Glancing at Hakan, she blinked. Trying to make him feel bad? She wasn't doing anything of the sort!
"I wasn't.. trying to make you feel guilty!" she retorted, ears folding back. "I was just... it didn't seem like a very nice thing to say, that's all." she mumbled, looking at the ground. "I'm sorry if I made you feel bad, though." She lifted her head and offered him a shaky smile. This wasn;t a good time to make the bigger lion mad, after all.
Hakan's next words left her, too, feeling curious. A God? What sort of God was this little blue cub's grandfather, anyway? The word "grandfather" put one in mind of a kindly sort of figure, but something baout the way Hakan spoke made her feel this wasn't so.. Baneful Vit looked a little relieved at his comment that Mrost would be pleased with her, her ears perking back up just a bit from their dejected posture, she still couldn't shake the feeling that she had somehow just stabbed her father in the back, a crime on par with kicking a puppy. "That's good." she smiled weakly, no longer as overly confident as she had been. Where normally she would have shied away from physical contact she was actually reassured by Amleth's action, drawing strength from the fact that a lion she had only just met sympathised with her unashamedly.
At Hakan's next proferred scrap of information, after all, he was the one holding all the cards, she perked her ears properly and looked exceedingly keen. "Really?! You'd do that for me? Thank you!" she didn't ask how Hakan knew the god, too caught up in the prospect of meeting him. He sounded so powerful able to wander whereever he wanted, something that was beyond her capibilies, as reliant as she was on her parents.
She didn't even consider that revealing herself to the god could in some ways be as good as suicide. Taejira {Agh, all these cubs and breedings are making me wanna breed one of mine xDD *hides from temptation*} Amleth looked relieved that Vit didn't mind her comforting. She offered the cub a small smile and glanced at Hakan long enough to catch the eyeroll. "I won't," she replied, in an uncharictaristically careless tone. She was finding Hakan more and more abrasive, with his teasing the cub who was clearly a bit distressed, and his outbursts of extrordinary hatred towards the Pridelanders.
She wondered vaguely what Mrost was the god of, and what use he would have for Vitashki, but she kept silent, simply watching Hakan with an odd look on her face.Baneful Vit stood held her head up high in an attempt to look proud and impressive but only really succeeded in looking as though she was trying too hard. "I hope I will be as strong someday, right now I'm less than impressive, can hardly even beat my brothers and sisters in a fight." she frowned "But I'll learn and grow or die trying. I don't want to be a lazy lion all my life, not with god blood in my veins."
She tilted her head slightly "What's he like?" She was curious beyond belief and since no one else would tell her anything, she made a decision to ask Hakan. Kimaria "Oh I bet you will." One could not tell whether he was being sarcastic or not. Then in a flash he was on his paws. As much as he'd like to hang around with a female who had it in for him and an overly curious cub he did have somewhere important to be.
He had to find Kizuka.
"What is he like?" He paused, turning to stare off at nothing in particular. "Well I'm sure you'll see for yourself soon enough. I may see you again some time soon little cub of Mrost's blood."
Then with that he began to head off on his way again, tail waving cheerily behind him. "Until then." He called out, his voice rising up as he left the two females by themselves beneath the tree. Baneful Vit watched him go, more torn up now than she had been in her short life, she wasn't sure which way fate would be inclined to take her from here but part of her felt that not all of what had transpired had been positive.
Saying her goodbyes to Amleth she turned and headed home knowing that after having denyed him, she wouldn't be able to look her father in the eye for a very long time.

Pekee'Dunia RP I Spy a Rhino!Lethrossen Poza had been able to go on for a long time, probably because she was walking so slowly and took little breaks every now and then with out truly realizing it. She couldn't help it if her eyes sometimes wandered to the sky and she wanted to marvel at the fact it was one of the most amazing things in her world.
Her bright blue eyes were not on the sky now, however, because they were flickering over quite a few trees in the distance. What sort of land was that? Kimaria And whilst the little femme worked towards the jungle Pekee found himself drifting away from it. Yes it was his birth place, yes it was his home, yes it was where his family was, but no he did not like the place.
He had met with a lion and cheetah just before leaving and had decided that enough was enough. He just could not be happy in a place full of trees and vines that insisted on tripping and strangling him.
He walked now with head down, tail dragging and eyes cast downwards so he could watch the ground for any pesky rocks that might want to send him crashing to the ground.
Life...sucked. Lethrossen Poza has just caught a glimpse of the blue that so well matched her eyes. Her gaze had flickered up and then quickly down as she side stepped as fast as she could so she could avoid colliding with this white... thing. Well Poza was never one for such quick actions, and being that way her paws seemed to tangle up and suddenly she'd tripped over herself! With a little squeal of protest and a loud thud she fell to the ground.
"Eeeeooow." He cried out as she lifted her paw to see if it was damaged at all, forgetting to see who the white thing was. Kimaria He hadn't noticed the other cheetah until her sudden squeal came ringing down his ears and rattled the brain inside his skull. For a moment the little cheetah bristled and jumped backwards, green eyes falling to the crumpled cheetah lying just before him.
What had she been doing?
"Well isn't this a wonderful surprise." He said, his tone suggesting otherwise. "Is squealing your way of communication?" Lethrossen Her ears perked slightly and she sat up, head turning so she could see who'd just said such hurtful words. She was not used to grumpiness. "Excuse me? No, it's my way of expressing pain when I avoid crashing into others and land on my paw funny, to be quite honest." It didn't really have the same rude tone as he had, it was too softly spoken. Kimaria Well it seemed this girl was clumsier than himself! That was quite a relief to be sure, especially when he'd been told that his race was filled with elegant and graceful creatures.
This just proved that those stories were not true.
"Well perhaps you could express it in a quieter way? It hurts my ears otherwise." He flattened said appendages and shook his head. "Oh and some advice - though you probably won't listen to me as no one ever does - the jungle behind me isn't a place for clumsies." Lethrossen Her eyes began to narrow, she wasn't sure what was coming over her. She stood up and moved face to face with him. "Listen you, I was just trying not to collide with you, so you wouldn't get hurt! How dare you repay that with telling me to shut up!" She hissed out, though her tone was still quiet and a little airy.
Really, the nerve of this one.
She eyed the trees a moment as he said that, still standing rather close to the other cub. "It looks strange." She noted, any anger she'd just expressed gone in that sentance. Kimaria Pekee took a step back, surprise on his face at her tone. No one had ever sniped at him like this before and it was the first time he'd gottne this reaction. He'd believed that this was the sort of emotion he wanted to invoke upon others but seeing the look in her eyes disturbed him somewhat.
He gave a small huff, closed his eyes and turned his head away, determined not to let it get to him.
"Fine." Was all he gave in reply, opening his eyes to slithers as he peeked back at the jungle.
"Strange is one word for it. I'd call it a death trap. It's a place for fools, not for me. No one understands me there." As far as he was concerned his family were fools for settling in such a horrid place. Lethrossen Poza gave a slight giggle, in a way this male reminded her of her little brother. Why couldn't cheetahs just be content with who they were, where they were? But if it really was a death trap, it wasn't a place for anyone.
"Well the savannah is very nice, it's almost as big as the skies above it. My name is Poza!" She said. Cheery was really how she reacted to others, his words had just rubbed her the wrong way before. Kimaria "Savannah?" The word was foreign and strange to his tongue yet it sounded interesting that was for sure. Big too! Surely a cheetah could run as much as he wanted in a place like that! "Is that where you are from? Is it true cheetah country?" He was despearetly curious to find out where he was supposed to be.
He was not a leopard, he was not a snake. He was a cheetah and he did not belong in the jungle. Lethrossen "Idon't know what true cheetah country is... but the savanna is all behind us." She turned lightly and waved her paw across the horizon. "It's very lovely." She said slowly, her eyes moving back toward the jungle. Was he sure that place was a death trap? It looked interesting, and strange.
"Though it gets really hot a lot.. and stuff." Kimaria "Maybe I'll go see it, find out where I'm supposed to be, what I'm supposed to do. No one understands but I'll find out. I'll find out why I exist." He nodded sharply to himself and turned to gaze at the sandy pelted female.
"The jungle has it's own kind of heat. Thick air which is difficult to breath. It rains a lot too, I tell my mother it isn't good to keep getting soaked, that we'll get ill...but she doesn't listen. No one ever does." It seemed he was very fond of that line despite the fact it probably wasn't true. Lethrossen Poza blinked and then turned away from the jungle, sitting and watching the sky. "Why you exist?" She breathed out. She had her own ideas about that, but didn't mention any.
"You momma won't listen? Maybe you don't tell her the words correctly." She suggested. Kimaria "Yes." He replied sternly, "why I am here, why I am alive." He wrinkled his snout. "I want to discover the reason behind my existance. In short, the meaning of life." It was a hard quest to be sure but he was determined to discover the answers.
"My mother...she could listen if she wanted but she chooses not too. I'm not a nice son." Lethrossen She frowned lightly at his words and shut her eyes, trying to imaging what a relationship like that would be like. Her mother would never treat her that way, and she'd never treat her mother that way either.
"Maybe you just need to work on how to behave with her, mm?" She peaked open one eye and then both, leaping to her feet and trotting forward, back the way she came. "C'mon, thirsty?" She had had enough of this silyl grown-up talk! Kimaria He listened to her question with slight confusion, unsure how he should reply to somethign like that. He wasn't godo with other people, probably because of his inability to be positive and cheerful. What was there to be happy about anyway?
Luckily he wasn't given time to answer and made to follow her.
It was the first time he had chosen to take the option of company rather than solitude.
He took one glance back over his shoulder to 'home' and then padded up beside her. "Not really, but I'll come anyway." It was the first time he had been outside of the trees and it was a gnice change to walk without fear of being bludgeoned across the head by a branch or hit in the face by a fiersome snake.
"..." However now he was not quite sure what to say. He was not an amazing conversationalist. Lethrossen Poza hummed as she went along. "It's a bit far." She remembered passing it!
"Oh, do you have siblings Pekee?" She asked, tail flicking. She was okay at keeping chit-chat going. Kimaria "It doesn't matter, my legs like this openland." Pekee replied matter-of-factly, tail still dragging behind him. He seemed incapable of holding it up.
"Siblings? Oh yes, though they'd probably deny having anything to do with me. I'm not very nice you know." He never gave that a rest, "we all look the same, all of us. All white and grey spots. I'm nothing special, they won't miss me one little bit." Lethrossen She giggled. "Do you always feel bad for yourself? You sound like my brother. He has a wonky leg, but he thinks it should be normal like everyone else's. I think we should live by our differences, or even our simularities." She nodded.
After a few more minutes she could see the watering hole in the distance. "None of my siblings have blue eyes, my parents don't either. I think it's really neat! I'm sure something sets you apart from everyone else." Kimaria He listened to her with a frown on his face. Pity? Is that what it was he was doing? No! He did not feel sorry for himself, not one little bit! It wasn't his fault no one loved hi or deemed him important.
He was a nobody!
"I have the same eyes as my father, and the same pelt as both of my parents. I look no different in any way."
"Bland, boring and useless. Why was someone as insignificant as myself given life?"
His eyes sought and found the water hole and he quickened his pace to try and reach it. Somehow it seemed odd and out of place. Lethrossen After a minute she stopped walking, frowning. He was feeling sorry for himself! He didn't even answer her when she asked that, and then went on complaing. "I'll tell you one thing, I've never met anyone who complained as much as you." The words weren't supposed to hurt, it was just that she wanted to point it out. "That's one difference." She muttered, stalking forward again. Kimaria "I don't complain!" Pekee muttered, moving after her and giving her side a nudge with the top of his head. "I just say how it is." Then with that he quickened his pace and loped across the stretch of open ground to reach the edge of the waterhole.
It was here that he stared at his reflection, waiting for the other to catch up. Lethrossen She couldn't help herself as he moved ahead, she started to giggle. Oh he didn't even realize it! After he got farther ahead, and was waiting for her, she suddenly sprang forward in more of a slow run than a slow walk. She lept right for him, aiming to tackle him into the water. "Gotchya!" She shouted. Kimaria And with a strangled yelp he was bowled forwards, legs flailing as he fell with a loud 'sploosh' into the shallows of the waterhole.
He paused, staring at the little cheetah with the most forlorn and upset look one could imagine and then moved to stand up.
His fur clung to his long, lanky body, revealing the slight bumps of his spine and ribs. He was a skinny little thing under that fur.
"What did you attack me for? Are you going to kill me?" He gave her an accusing look, but one that looked quite amusing. Lethrossen She'd rolled right off of him with laughter, soaking herself, into the shallows as well. She continued to laugh until she heard his words, which caused her laughter to cut off and eyes to go wise. "Kill you! N-n-no!" She studdered, not even knowing how he could think se wanted to kill anyone! "I just wanted to play!" She said meekly, cringing slightly and also looking upset. Had she did wrong? Thats how she played with her little brother! Kimaria She was...laughing?
Pekee had never smiled before, let alone laughed and the sound was strange and somewhat horrible to hear. He hated seeing the happiness in others when his heart seemed to be numb to such emotions. He took a step forward, water dripping from his chin that jutted out with his annoyed expression.
"Play? I don't know what that is. Is it the name for almost drowning?" His ears twitched and he gazed down at the water that hid his paws and half his legs from view. Lethrossen Her eyes seemed to widen more. He didn't know what playing was? She scrambled back a little, still looking embaressed and upset. "No, no! I'm sorry I didn't.. I didn't know.. I though.." She trailed off. How was she supposed to explain playing?
"Its... it's having fun.. with other.. cubs.. I though you'd wanna.. wrestle.. or something.." Her words were getting more and more quiet as her words went on, which was saying something. "Friends play." She finally said, watching him. She thought she could consider him a friend by now! Kimaria "Fun?" He mvoed out of the water and shook himself, his scraggly body soaked but cleaned of the mud and dirt that had ruined his beautiful white pelt.
His green eyes looked towards her in slight confusion. He had never 'played' before.
"Wrestle? Pouncing and getting wet is supposed to be fun?" He just couldn't understand. Lethrossen She blinked, still watching him. Wasn't it supposed to be fun? She always had fun when playing with her siblings. "Uuuhm." She fell silent and moved herself out of the water. "I guess not." She sounded very upset, and looked equally upset. Maybe that was not really how cheetahs were supposed to have fun!
"I mean... what.. what do you do with your siblings, then?" She was trying to understand why he did not like that kind of play. Kimaria "Oh come on now, don't put that miserable expression on your face." It somehow made him feel cheerful inside when he saw her smile. "If it makes you happy then you can pounce me, but maybe not into the water?" He turned to glance back at it and shook himself again. His fur puffing up.
"I didn't play with my siblings." He replied. Lethrossen "Dind't play!" She gasped, and then shook her head. "No, you see... you're supposed to pounce back and stuff... like... well there are tons of games to play! Tag, leap frog... hide and seak... racing.. cloud shape guessing.. i spy.." she trailed off, watching him helplessly. He didn't know games! He didn't know play! That was like a mental slap up the head to her. Didn't all children know games? Kimaria "Fun?" He moved out of the water and shook himself, his scraggly body soaked but cleaned of the mud and dirt that had ruined his beautiful white pelt.
His green eyes looked towards her in slight confusion. He had never 'played' before.

That was like a mental slap up the head to her. Didn't all children know games? Kimaria He glanced at her curiously and for the first time felt quite interested in what she was saying. When he listened to others he usually didn't pay attention half the time but now...
"Are these cheetah games?"
Now that his fur was no longer dripping wet he sat down somewhat gracefully and wound his tail around himself. "What is your favourite game? Could you teach me it...perhaps?" Lethrossen Well, she wasn't one for those fast paced games, she really liked games that didn't require much effort.
"Well I really like cloud games or I spy..." She said slowly, and then the smile slipped onto her face again.
"Oh! Yes I could teach you all of the games if you wanted! I spy... is where one person is the spy... and they pick something around them... and they say... 'I spy something.... green!' well, or whatever color it is..." She paused.
"The other person guessed what it is." She waited to see if he liked the idea of this game or not. Kimaria He blinked and for a moment looked like he was going to turn down the offer. What was the point in a game like that? It was clear there was great thought going on in his mind but after a while he nodded and laid down.
"Okay then. It sounds simple enough." His tail flicked and fell to the ground again. "Does it matter who starts? And...do we have a certain amount of chances before our turn of guessing is up?" Lethrossen She looked a little worried as he took a bit longer than she expected to answer.
At his question she screwed up her face in thoughts. "Well, it doesn't matter who starts... er... yeah, we have five chances to guess!" Oooh, she'd never gotten to add on these rules before, maybe it would make the game fun. "And if they don't guess right uhm... hmm... or guess in five turns, i mean... they have to..."
Looked like she couldn't think of anything, even though she wanted to. Kimaria And for the first time in a long time the frown on his face smoothed out and he actually looked quite cute. There was something about this little cheetah girl that managed to wiggle through all his grumpy defenses, something that made him feel guilty if he upset her.
"They have to...?" He encouraged, "do something silly? Stupid? Dangerous?" He flicked his ears.
"Should I go first? I'd very much like to! Though I might not be that good." Lethrossen Her eyes lit up at the mention of 'dangerous'. She just remembered something she'd seen a while back on their journey. "ooooh, I know." That very cheerful smile slowly turned into a sly, mischevious one. "If you lose you have to.." She paused for a little dramatic effect. "You have to go tap a baby rhino right on it's little horn!" Well, this certainly wasn't a side of her she'd shown yet. "I saw two of them some time back... they might still be there."
And after she declaired this her cheerfulness is back. "Yeah, you can go first, but only the things around us!" She glanced around. Let's see... the jungle was in the distance, the watering hole was right there... she thought she could see some zebras. Hmm, not so much to choose from. "Oh and... if there's an animal you can see make sure it's not a fast moving one, it wouldn't be fair if it... flew off or ran away." Kimaria "A Rhino? Okay!" Despite the fact that Pekee had no idea what one was he decided it didn't sound that dangerous. "That sounds fine!"
Then with a small nod he settled himself and gazed around, sure now that he understood the rules.
"I spy something..." He gazed about him, eyes scanning the area. "Something white." Lethrossen Something white, huh? Her gaze shot up toward the sky, because clouds were her first thought. Were there any clouds in the sky? Quickly her gaze slipped around the area, to see what else was white.
"Hmmm, is it the clouds?" She asked slowly, watching him and foccusing on his eyes. Kimaria Pekee looked first shocked and then slightly annoyed that she had guessed so easily and with a small flick of his tail he glanced away, closed his eyes and nodded.
"Yeah." He said the word hesitantly, "you must practise a lot at this game." Lethrossen She looked happy for a moment, and then she frowned. Hesitantly she said... "No, well I mean I play it a lot, it's just that there aren't a lot of white things for me to guess.." She didn't want that to hurt his feelings, but it would help him to play better, wouldn't it?
Her eyes moved around slowly. Hmm, what should she have him guess? Her gaze flickered toward the watering hole, at their reflections. Oh, hmm. That could be a hard one though. Her gaze moved along the grass and toward the trees in the distance, and then back toward their reflections. She could always test him, though!
"I spy something green!"
Actually.. maybe she shouldn't have made that penalty... Kimaria He gave her a strange look and then came to the realisation that she was right, then with a small nod he re-settled himself and watched her as she decided on her next subject.
Green?
"Umm...the jungle?" He guessed, tail twisting a little in thought. Lethrossen Oh this was so good, he probably wouldn't think of it! Since he probably didn't see it that often... "Nope!" She giggled, purring as she watched. She was very pleased with herself, and it was east to tell. Kimaria He wrinkled his nose and sniffed lightly, unsure of what to guess next. So many things could be green! "Um...leaves?" It was a fair enough guess at any rate. Lethrossen She giggled more and shook her head, looking slowly around and glancing toward the water. "Nope, that isn't it either!" After a minute she layed herself down, rolling to her belly so she could watch the sky. Kimaria Damn! Okay so it wasn't the jungle and it wasn't leaves. So what did that leave. He turned and gazed around, his eyes flicking around him.
"Grass maybe?" He sounded less confident this time. Lethrossen "It's not grass either~" She said, in a sing-song voice. "Running out of things to gu~ess!" Ohhh, this was such a good one to have picked! Though she did feel a little bad for using it on a newbie. But if it wasn't for him she wouldn't have had the chance, would she? Kimaria He gave a small huff, only two more guesses and she was acting like she'd already won! He eyed all around him, wondering what he could have missed.
"Um..." His ears drooped in defeat. "...frog?" He couldn't even see one from where he was but he knew they were green and he decided plant related things weren't getting him anywhere. Lethrossen Poza sat up, gaze flicking around. There were frogs around? Was he just guessing stupidly now? She huffed slightly and looked directly at him. "Not a frog. One more guess." Ohhh, she didn't think the game would be this hard... Kimaria One last guess! Okay he really could not mess this up, there were no frogs to save him and apparently grass, leaves and the jungle were all useless.
What else could be green!?
He got up this time and turned around slowly. Then finally his eyes picked out something he had missed before. It was not grass and it was not leaves. "Reeds? It has to be the reeds!" Lethrossen Poza rolled to her paws and gave a nervous little laugh. "Er well.." Her gaze flickered back toward the savanna. Maybe they rhino wouldn't be there any longer? "No."
She looked back to him, and then gestured toward their murky reflection. "It's your eyes!" She said with a big grin. She liked his eyes, they were neat! Kimaria His tail, ears and head drooped and he gazed at her with a suspicious look. "No?" He looked somewhat disbelieving. Then turned to glance towards the water at her gesture.
"My eyes?" He stepped forth and glanced at his own wobbled reflection, noting for the first time that they truly were green. Well he had known that they were but he had never deemed it of any significant importance, especially not to mention in a game.
"Hmpfh...but I can't see my own eyes." He complained. "Do I get to meet this...Rhino now?" He glanced about nervously. Lethrossen "But you canspot them in the reflection!" Didn't he know his own eye color? Anyways it wasn't in the rules that you couldn't name something about the guesser.
"Er... yep! If he's still around anyways.." She said with a cheeky, but nervous, grin. She began to head away in a brisk trot. Oh she'd be dead is she let another cub get harmed. "C'mon, this way!" Kimaria "I spose..." He agreed skeptically, moving along beside her at a quickened pace. His long legs seemed to work much better now he wasn't hindered by vines, roots and plants. In fact he hadn't stumbled once since leaving that wretched place.
"I'll just follow you then. Umm...what do these rhinos look like? Are they...are they dangerous?"
It was nice to see that his usual grumpiness had gone. Could it be he had finally made a friend? Lethrossen Oh, he had never seen one before? Idiot, he lived in a jungle! Actually, she didn't know what else lived in a jungle. Maybe she'd ask her father some time.
"Er well... they're grey... and the baby ones arent... so big and... and.." She swallowed, this was a bad idea, wasn't it? Kimaria He listened to her despcription with a growing nervousness and suddenly his eyes found an animal very like the one she described moving on the horizon.
He paused, raised a paw and pointed in the direction the rhino was at. "Sort of like that?" He questioned, edging sideways so he could walk closer to her, his side bumping gently against hers.
He didn't bother with an apology... Lethrossen Her eyes moved to what he indicated and she gave him a nervous grin. "That's an adult." She said, nervously. Maybe he would just back down? Oh! "We can play something else, if you want?" She said slowly.
She didn't mind the light contact, nothing like that bothered her. Kimaria "But I thought this was a rule? And rules aren't supposed to be broken you know." He drew in a deep breath, turned to his new friend and clearly looked a little uncomfortable.
"Well here goes nothing." With that said he began a very quick trot over to the Rhino, assuming that Poza would stay behind until his task was done.
His paws led him closer and closer to the great animal, eyes absorbing in it's collossal form. Would he even be able to reach it's horn?! He felt suddenly very small compared and as he moved closer it was clear he was quite skittish and more than ready to dash away if things went bad.
Luckily for the pair the surrounding area was dotted with large boulders that could be used to escape from danger if need be. Lethrossen Was he crazy! She'd said a baby! Those rhinos could kill grown lions! "Eeep no, Pekee!" She called after him, beginning to run toward the other cub. "No! No Don't be crazy that's an adult! I said baby!" This was insane. Kimaria Closer and closer he went and with each step that he took Pekee began to lose heart.
Somewhere behind hi Poza was yelling something and he paused, turning to crane his head back to see what all the fuss aas about. "You said what?!" Apparently yelling like that was a big mistake and the rhino who was already rather agitated swung slowly around to face the little cheetah.
It stamped it's hoofed foot and grunted, joints creaking as it prepared to rid it's ears of the irritating yelling.
Pekee turned back in time to see the creature's rolling eyes and flared nostrils and suddenly his heart sank.
"I don't think this is going to be easy!" He continued, backing up a few steps. Ahanu Poza snarled as she spotted this, scared and annoyed and just angry at herself. She had gotten to where Pekee was and gave him a sharp n** on his tail, tugging hard. "RUN YOU DUMMY!" She screamed at him, though not because she was mad, because she was terrified. That thing was getting angry!
With that she jerked herself around and began to rab a few feet back, looking anxiously over her shoulder for Pekee. "Forget what I said about penalties!" Kimaria "Ouch." He frowned at her, "do you have to keep on attacking me like that, I was just doing what you tol--"
Then she screamed at him and his eyes widened in terror. No one would scream that loud without reason and with a slow turn of his head he saw the angry rhino stamping it's hooves in an attempt to scare them off.
"I think leaving would be a good idea." And with that said he took off, running as fast as his legs could carry him.
Behind him the sound of thunder could be heard and he knew that somehow he and Poza had been placed in a rather difficult position. "Do you think Rhino's can climb?!" He yelled, making a mad dash for the nearest boulder. Ahanu "I hope not!" She squeaked out. She wasn't a very fast runner, Pekee was already ahead of her. Oh gosh, oh gosh! She had to force her eyes to stay forward, she she wouldn't look back.
As they got to the rock she lept onto it. "What if it breaks this rock!" She squealed, peering down at the ground. Was it even high enough? Kimaria He scrambled desperately up onto the rock and sat, gasping for breath. "It can break rocks!?" He squeaked, "oh great! You've gotten us into a right awful mess. You're a whole kind of new fool I've never met before."
He huffed and glanced over to where the Rhino was charging up, it's pace slowling as it saw the two felines making for higher ground. It threw up it's head, gave a strange bleating sound and stamped in frustration.
Obviously it had wanted to squish the little cheetahs and was annoyed that it had been denied such a treat. Ahanu She didn't think she'd ever been so scared in her life. She'd thrown herself right into Pekee as he'd gotten on the rock, body trembling horribly. "You're the one that went toward the adult! Babies aren't that dangerous!" Actually, she didn't know that for sure.
She was panting as she watched the rhino, and after a little bit it finally it bagan to move off. "That was close!" Kimaria He gave a small 'oof' sound as she knocked into him and wrinkled his nose. "You told me to do it. If you hadn't chosen such a hard colour on I spy we wouldn't have had this problem."
He sniffed, curled his tail and watched the Rhino stomp away. "Atleast you don't get those things in the jungle..." He muttered, "though I think I'd choose a rhino over a poisionous snake anyday." Ahanu It hadn't been a hard color, not really. Just a hard object to guess when you were new at the game. After the rhino was far enough away she collapsed on her belly, letting out a large sigh. "I'm sleepy now." She whined lightly. She hated exersize. Kimaria He looked at her through the corner's of her eyes as she moved to lay down onto the rock, sliding down to the ground himself.
He turned to face her, a serious expression always carved onto his features.
"If you say so." He wrinkled his nose. "Actually I think I'm going to head back to the death trap for now." Meaning the jungle, "I'm too tired to head out so may as well go to the den until I'm rested. You can't journey on an empty belly and tired paws." This was his way of saying 'goodbye, I'm leaving now.' Lethrossen She just grinned at him. "At least the day has been memberable, eh?" She giggled at him, eyes shutting. Her way of saying goodbye to her knew friend. She hoped they would bump into each other again sometime. Kimaria He gave a smalle grunt in reply which meant somethign along the lines of, 'mrrr if you say so.' Then with a yawn he backed away and made towards the jungle once more.
It was actually a relief to be heading back under the tree canopy where he was protected from the giant beasts like rhinos.
The adventure was over and despite the fact it had been an accident Pekee had made a friend. There was no doubt that the two would meet again.

Kiburi RP Set off CourseKimaria Kib had finally parted ways with Kidondo and Kaanga and was heading out on her own for the first time in a long while. There was hope in her heart now but fear also, for why she was free she knew that she was still nto out of danger yet.
The Firekin might find her.
Zenoni could be mad with her, but worst of all her family could be in danger. She had been haunted with nightmares of them the past few days, haunted with nightmares of pain and anguish, or death and destruction. She could not bare it! And in her time of need she had found two young lions who had aided her in escaping. For that she would be eternally grateful.
So here she was, with the desert behind her, heading towards the Pridelands at as fast a pace she could imagine. In the state she was in however, it could take anything up to two weeks to get home, possibly more. Remove ~ Beckikins Maybe it was out of sheer luck or something else, either way Mbali had led her to her dreaded sister where she found a key to turn in her sister's heart. A lioness called Kiburi who had ran off.
After Mbali had left his mother she had mumbled about the firekin desert and yes it was true that Churo was here but rumours were easy things to pick up.
With her cub following at her heels Churo created a plan in her head as she rushed towards the lands that she was hoping to find this Kiburi. She was at a disadvantage not knowing what she looked like but she was younger then her half sister so could definatly find this lioness before her.
Kwaruza was still young and as she followed her mother she knew that this time she would be as much of the plan as her mother, if not more. Cubs can sometimes do more damage, thats what she had been taught.
The two had found some shade to rest, Churo may be hard on her daughte but she would never push her to hard so they had rested, Churo had caught a small zebra which would feed them both while they rested, then they would continue their search, their plan would work. Kimaria Kiburi paused, panting heavily under the rays of the sun. She gazed up and the world wobbled but she knew she had to continue, or atleast find some shade to take a short break.
It was this need that led her to the tree where the pair were resting.
However, with senses numbed by her pain and fatigue Kiburi hardly even noticed anyone was nearby. Instead she dragged her tired paws across the ground and collapsed in a dusty heap on the ground, breathing out a graet sigh of relief.
Her head was spinning but slowly the sensation ebbed away, her body unwinding as the shade helped lower her body temperature. Remove ~ Beckikins Churo heard the lioness approacing and was on her feet snarling in seconds. She didn't share her food or let anyone near her daughter.
When the lioness came into view though she dropped the snarl and stared.
"Whats that mummy? Is it dead?" Kwaruza was incredibly innocent compared to her mother, she was a normal cub being brought up to hate.
Churo looked at her daughter and smiled before walking over to the creature. "Whats your name?" She spoke in her normal demanding voice, she held her head high, her body tense, just in case. Kimaria Poor Kib did not realise that she had company until the demanding voice caught at her ears. Even the threatening growl went unnoticed until that moment.
At the voice however her eyes shot open and she jolted up ointo her feet, cowering back pitifully.
"I-I-I..." Her throat was dry and stuck to her words and as she tried to raise her eyes to see who was close by she found she could not.
Ears flattened, tail tucked and the submissive femme continued to back away slowly, eyes not going past the point of the creature's paws. The only comfort she found was that they weren't red.
"I-I'm..." She coughed then and continued until breath rasped painfully and her back feet collapsed under her. "I'm Ki-Ki-Kiburi." She was used to taking orders by now it seemed. Remove ~ Beckikins At the sound of the name Kwaruza shot up as if it was her cue or something. She walked forward and sat in front the pitiful lioness.
"Your our sister?" She tried to look somewhat sweet and cute like most cubs, her mother, who now was her sister had a smirk on her face that turned to a soft smile.
"Our mother was speaking of you just the other day. Little Kwaruza here and me, we decided to go wandering for a bit and see the sister that abandoned us all." She had no problems being harsh straight away, Churo had no heart. Kimaria Kib shook her head in denial, backing up further still. She didn't like these creatures, not one little bit! Even cubs were a danger to her now, ever since she had been abused by the red-pelt children. Her trust for strangers was little now and she continued to back up, intent on going on her way.
"I-I-I don't k-know you." She stuttered, shaking her head wildly from side to side.
"I d-did n-not abandon! N-no!" Her eyes filled with tears and her legs began to tremble so wildly it looked as if she was about to crumple to the ground again. Remove ~ Beckikins Churo laughed, "You wouldn't know us, we were born after you ran off. Kwaruza is the youngest, she was born on her own, the only one in the litter." Churo was enjoying this, it was what she was good at. Her daughter however was confused, she didn't understand why the lioness was crying, it made no sense to her so she kept quiet.
"You are the Kib I think you are, daughter of Bakhti? You have so many siblings you don't know about. Mum has had loads of children just so she could forget about you. Dad has a new favourite, they hated you for leaving, not cared since. The more cubs, the less they can think of you." Churo smirked now, this is what she was good at, lieing. Her face was glowing with pride, this was far too easy. Kimaria Was this true!? No it couldnt be! Mother and father wouldn't ever forget about her! She frowned and took another step back.
"E-even if t-they did f-forget! My b-brother wouldn't!" A tear ran down the side of her face as her gaze flickered between the adult and the cub. She had to admit they did look and smell familiar, but she knew her mother would never be so cruel.
Her heart sank. Remove ~ Beckikins Churo thought suddenly, she only knew Mbali and he was too young to know Kib. She made something else, she had no idea it was true, it sounded good though.
"Your brother has a mate and cubs, he has his own family. He doesn't think of you Kib. You left us all, broke mothers heart! What did you expect? They would love you regardless of you just leaving them and not hearing from you. I thought you would have been at least a good looking girl." Churo smiled, this was far too easy.
"I am disgusted to be related to you, leaving us, you deserve to just dissappear Kib, mum wants nothing to do with you, she told us all, she dont want nothing to do with you and we were to warn ya off. You hurt our parents Kib, you hurt them bad." She changed her expression so it was deadly serious, though all that was going through her head was Bakhti struggling under her claws. Kimaria "T-They...They...they..." It seemed she was struggling for words again and soon her sentence was lost under a tidal wave of sobbing.
They hated her!
Mchele had moved on with his life!
They hated her and she couldn't blame them. Her nightmares had been nothing but figments of her imagination. They were not hurt or unhappy. They were living their lives without her.
She slowly sat down again. Where wuold she go!?
And then she remembered a place...a place she could go.
"Then I-I w-won't go home. I d-don't w-want to u-upset any...anyone." She gave a great shuddering breath and hung her head. Remove ~ Beckikins Churo smiled, "Good, you wont be in the way then." Her message could have meant something to Kib different to how Churo was saying. Kib wouldn't be in the way of her mothers murder, she had fulfilled this part of her plan!
Kwaruza smiled at her mummy, "Can we go finish her off now?"
"We are going Kwaruza, of course we can." She turned to Kib and smirked. "Good luck surviving Kib." She chuckled and turned to leave with her daughter, her job there was done. Kimaria She watched them go with a breaking heart and turned to go herself. This time she was not heading towards Pridelands. No. She was off to the Kusini lands where she'd live in hiding forever.
And as she walked, her tears blotted the ground beneath her.
