~xXx~Nikki4187~xXx~ My friend has a really, really interesting book on myth creatures like fairys, dragons, sprites, brownies and things like that but it also has a section for vampires and ghosts and it's very interesting. It explains how the modern day view of a vampire came to be and why they say garlic is a good way to get rid of them. It was really interesting because it was saying the original tale of vampires was that they were more of a ghost type creature with no solid form then a human looking monster. If anyone would like I can get the book from him to get the whole story behind it. The name of the book would be good^-^

I love vampires. My favorite part in movies is when their eyes glaze over after and while they feed. And also when they kick butt and jump off of buildings and land on their feet....awesome.

NostalgicArtist Vampiers are kinda' dumb. Wouldn't that depend on the vampire's traits? I know a couple of vampires who aren't dumb at all...

Vampires.
Heh.
The Vampire legend, or the modern human form vampire legend, began with Vlad the Impaler, who used to drink the blood of his enemy after combat, adding their strength to his own, so he might continue to desimate any who would appose him.
But that's the origin of the modern legend.
Suprisingly Alot of cultures have Vampire like creatures in their mythologies, this i think is proof that at some time, In all countries, a group of people, or as it may be a Breed of beings, devoured the blood of Animals and humans, as their primary food source.
Of course there is also the medical Explenation, like the explenation for Werewolves.
There is a blood disease which alot of people contract, which forces them to require frequent blood transfusions to live, this happened once on the simpsons, when Bart donated his blood to Mr burns so that mr burns may live.
Then of course there is the most recent Incarnation of Vampires. The try hard wanna bes. Kids who have seen Blade, Queen Of the Damned, Underworld, What ever movie, and have decided "******** i wanna be a vampire" so they go out and they tell their friends "oh yeah baby i suck blood let me bite you"
Really, the later is quite sad. Keep it to casual Role playing. Every time i meet someone who says they are a vampire, i deliver a mean back hand.
Why? because the world is ******** enough without people fearing the daylight, biting their friends (sometimes passing diseases, The human mouth is very unhealthy, even when you brush!). Killing small animals so they might have blood orgies (Oh yes it happens) and the likes.
