In the middle of Barton Town, some committee or other is holding a festival of sorts for some event or another. More likely than not the reason is something completely obscure and just an excuse to raise some money, but most of the people there don't seem to know or care since it's a way to have family fun and/or occupy the kids for a day.
Mouse is hoping that this event will help get her octopus lad out of his little myterious, unsettling rut. Okay, so maybe she isn't thinking straight because her work as a test subject at a paranormal study facility has taken his toll on her: the thought process involved in coming here includes that she saw a flyer for a cookoff at the event, Sylvest likes cooking, hey maybe this will help. Contacting the Eden Project HQ was a thought that had completely and utterly eluded her constantly-monitered mind.
In any other world, the two probably would have been seen as a miniature freak show: the Viking-helmeted woman with mottled orange hands popping a peppermint in her mouth every two minutes, and the kid who looks like he had done a lot of growing in the past few months with writhing octopus arms sticking out of his back walking mechanically wherever his mother led him.
Sylvest decided that although the dreams he had been having a smile and a tear were rather unsettling and urgent, he might as well get some cooking practice in a smile and a tear while he tries to think of how to fulfill the green-haired girl's request.

It was something she had wanted to do at the fair for years and the first time in a long time she had managed to do it. Her friend had helped her alot but here they were at their own stall.
Trista had been told she was good at staring, showing no emotions at all, so this time they got a stall where people had to make her laugh, or cry, or shudder or anything to show some sort of emotion. If they did, they won a prize. Not many won.
Infact, because not many people were winning, not many were coming to the stall now and it was just her. Her friend had gone off to look around the fair a little more, which Trista would have agreed to be more interesting, for now though she was sat at her little stall.
((hope thats ok ^_^))

The sounds, the sights, the atmosphere; It was all way too much for Calvin to handle.
All the vendors hurrying to set up their stalls while the onlookers oohed and aahed in excitement as each new attraction was erected. Yet, his thoughts strayed to the tear-shaped jewel hanging around his neck. It had magically appeared last night on Calvin's bedside table.
Questions buzzed through Calvin's mind distracting him and causing him to unwittingly bump into an unusual girl.
"Oh! I'm so sorry miss..."
((This is directed toward Sylvest so feel free to answer))

((Erm Golden, the green-haired girl is not actually present here. XD; If you want to bump into anyone, it would probably either be Sylvest or myself.))
