Unfortunetly the anser to that is yes he does die in the 40th ish book and he dies because they try to extract his demon but once they accomplish that they find out that, that was him and so he's dead. X_X crying

Yeah..He does die, unfortunatley, but he comes back to life because of a Chiyo or other [person...And SHE ends up dying...>.>;
