We ended up getting on-post housing. I'm glad, Killeen looks pretty yucky so far.

Hood has some nice housing! Hopefully you ended up in some of the newer stuff.

Sadly, Killeen *is* a hole. I, and a lot of other people I know, would give an arm to not end up back there.

HOWEVER, the base is fantastic and you will not find bigger and better stocked PXes anywhere. I miss the PXes. xd And going bowling on post during the duty day for $1.25 a game.

We're in McNair Village. It's not super new, but it's pretty nice. The house has beautiful hardwood floors. :]

Ooh, you even got hardwood instead of tile! Nice. smile

The only time we were offered on post housing there, they tried to put us in Walker, which was the oldest housing, hadn't been updated and I think it was slated to be torn down in the relatively near future, so they weren't ever going to upgrade it.

Depending on what our next duty station is, we're going to consider on post housing.
