I just scrolled trough the recepies sticky and it was as I anticipated; sweets all the way. Now, I'm not much into alot of sweet both because of it's mouth-numbing effects and poor effect on my form (and I think most agree - Vial of Mana's blood, the amulet of eternal thin-ness +10 isn't that common stare ).

There is a modern Finnish party food that is, I think, very loli for it's cake-like decorativeness and it's SALTY. heart

These are sadwitch cakes. They are usually big as they're designed to be catered in large parties, but can be made very small too. The layers of sandwitch have salty paste with fine bits of meat (fish, pork) and vegetables in it. A layer of white, salty paste is put on top of it and it's decorated with bigger pits of meat and vegetables cut in deocrative manner. For example, the fish cake that I had in my graduation party had lemon cuts and "roses" made of cold-smoked trout in it (think sushi!).

I don't have an actual recepie at hand, but can find and translate one if someone is interested. ^^

Those sandwiches sound very much like the mini sandwiches that they serve at Magnolia & Ivy for tea parties. They also serve quiche! I love quiche. :3 Most likely they aren't the same recipe but I'll try to see if I can get it. I'm not all for sweets all the time. ^^;

I'd love to learn new recepies too, though~ I get tired of sweets very quickly and love fish, just needed to lolify it somehow.

Japanese rice is one option I though - not neccesarily sushi, just rice that's sticky. It can be put into various forms and decorated with small bits of herbs etc. But like those cakes, they need to be eaten fresh and preferably cold. Meh.

Shinkie is always up for new recipes. I would love to see how it is made. It'd be fun to test it out. ^-^

I find it fun to make up new recipes, I made one out of a peice of bread cut up in triangles and added a little mayonaise and tuna and decorative slices of sweet pickle. It's very tasty and easy to make and good for those of you who like fish and want to Lolify it. whee
