A picture that happened really randomly: This is where I'm currently at on my commission for Yuzi_K: Her face is pretty much finished, her hair is half finished, and her jacket is mostly finished. The rest I'm still kind of sketching at every now and then. ^^ Detail: Any comments? whee

This is a huge change from your old work. Pray tell, what made you change your outlook/the way you do things? You've captured my heart. crying

The Iconoclast This is a huge change from your old work. Pray tell, what made you change your outlook/the way you do things? You've captured my heart. crying I think having Drawing classes in college helped a whole lot. Before that I didn't draw from life all too often, and in middle school/high school art classes it was mostly looking at pictures to make drawings. I started getting a bit better at the beginning of this year and then I got a tablet and it got a whole lot easier to put detail in pictures so I started putting a lot more detail in pictures. XD P.S I dunno if you know but since like 2004 I wanted your approval artistically 'cause you're like the Coolest Person Ever and I look up to you as an artist. ^^

Jeebus, these are gorgeous! I really like how detailed the hair in the detail shot looks - how do you get that kind of effect?

the ruffles on the first dress are sooo nicely done and the way you colored it to me translates as fabric so well, looks like that shiny prom dress fabric

Ooo. I want the shiny satin gloves!
The face on the second is coloured really well. I always like sharp shadows on a face.
I can't get over how smooth the whole thing looks. Gorgeous.

Waoooaw, even though i'm still not a great critiquer (ignore that that isn't a word ;D) I just really love how that torso is drawn. (the first one)
And on the second one, she looks a bit distressed, even though she's in a pretty cheerful looking pose. since her mouth is somewhat obscured, you might try to give her a less distracted look in her eyes, maybe modify her eyebrows a bit? Unless that's what you're going for~
Also, the wings (?) are a bit... well, they look really really good, but they kind of distract from the girl. I don't have a suggestion for it, but it was just something i noticed.
overall, i really like how your art looks now biggrin your ideas aren't quite as supafresh as they could be, but i think they have enough of a personal touch to seperate from anything like them. It seems like you're working more on technique at the moment though...?

Pocky-chan Waoooaw, even though i'm still not a great critiquer (ignore that that isn't a word ;D) I just really love how that torso is drawn. (the first one) Thank you. ^^ Quote: And on the second one, she looks a bit distressed, even though she's in a pretty cheerful looking pose. since her mouth is somewhat obscured, you might try to give her a less distracted look in her eyes, maybe modify her eyebrows a bit? Unless that's what you're going for~ I did mean her to look that way, her eyebrows are what changed the expression. ^^ The mouth is also obscured on purpose, I couldn't figure out how to draw it so instead of having a crappy mouth, her hair is in the way. XDQuote: Also, the wings (?) are a bit... well, they look really really good, but they kind of distract from the girl. I don't have a suggestion for it, but it was just something i noticed. Hm...I dunno. It is a part of the commission, so I'll see if I can't work around it. :3 Quote: overall, i really like how your art looks now biggrin your ideas aren't quite as supafresh as they could be, but i think they have enough of a personal touch to seperate from anything like them. XD (semi)Current WIP: (and headphones) ...does anyone have any good cloud tutorials? @_@
