DarkHayama I'm not saying you're wrong, but I've never such a thing, and I have done alot of delving into Japanese culture and history. I'd love for some links and whatnot on this, so I could read it on my own. I'm very big on the defeat of ignorance. If you listen to the Japanese in "The Last Samurai" though, I'm pretty sure you do hear the word "Shinobi" used now and then. I would have to rewatch it to be sure. I don't know what that means, but I won't blame hollywood on the use of Shinobi in the Japanese Language hehe. Anyways, yeah I wouldn't mind some links or something for your sources of this info. I would have to find some links on the internet, most of my information is retrieved first hand from diaries and texts that I don't have access to because of how old they are, and I am not living in museums xp , if I can find anything from that information and not from the crap that people put out cause "Ninjas and Shinobi are cool" then I will send you a few links but I am rather sad to say that there are few if any links that are about how things really were

DarkHayama Keliesto Actually traditionally Shinobi were Mystic Warriors that were of great power, they were Zelously religious and the ones used to keep Ninjas from running wild. Though that is a little known fact due to the Massive multimedia and anime that slaughters what they really are. Their main job was the same as that of a Samurai, a guardian of the land, though they didn't have the same problems as they were more often then not part of a "Secret Organization" living along side the Budhist(SP?) Monks of certain areas, and I am basing 'my' shinobi class, off of the Traditional life of what they were in reality Guardians and mistics not Assassins, though they could do that job, the true assassins are ninjas not the glorified man of the people that the Robin Hood Complexed media has turned them into I'm not saying you're wrong, but I've never such a thing, and I have done alot of delving into Japanese culture and history. I'm just a tad bit confused. My sheet was accepted, and I even PMd Blood to see if I could make some changes, but apparently I'm not playing?

As for what the shinobi are in real life I can tell you volumes worth of historical data that most people are too lazy or too stupid to translate, or just flat don't know Japanese. I just don't know Japanese sadly. I have loads of first hand information and could give it to you if your interested but I think that would be better done in an ooc thread for that subject rather then ranting about them in someone's forum for starting a campaign. As for links all I have been able to find so far is crap on anime and stupid fan sites, finding anything worth while is tougher then it sounds these days.
Now for what Shinobi are going to be in the D&D world depend on their race and history, they are supposed to pick several things on which they focus first off they are either Devine, Arcane, or Psionic casters. They have their own spell progression of spells known that maxes out at 4 spells per day of each level known and run off a unique mana system that I have created. Where the power of greater spells can be broken down into smaller spells or lots of smaller spell's latent energies can be brough together to make the power of a stronger spell. At low levels it is far weaker then wizards in number of base spells but has the potential to be quite powerful. Also I have descided to take their 'guardian of the people' aspect and work that into their class special abilities they pick a single creature race and subtype, or character class and all of their skills focus on hunting and killing that one creature or class type. Though similar to the ranger in that aspect it is also stronger and weaker in certain points. I noticed that if you sit down and look at it all the various classes are strong or weak against one other class (with the exeption of monks that I think are over powered) and have also found out that the way I built shinobi leaves them prone to multiple character classes dependant on their build and creatures of carious kinds have adverse features that can screw with the Shinobi, but I still find it interesting that all the possibilties of each one is so useful in its own right. But enough about my character, I may be blind but I am totally missing the list of accepted players, where is that list so I can look at it ^_^

If your character sheet isn't listed in the first post of the Play thread for this campaign, then post your character now and I'll add it so we can start. If your character is listed then just wait a bit and don't post here so I can get these sheets. wink
I'll be updating the Play thread really soon so we can start playing.
