Are you sure? I thought that it was another word for the Matrix (where transformer sparks go after death, not the one in Prime's chest).

Wikipedia is only partly truth because it depends on who is updating it.
As for the Allspark, from what I read in the "prequel" comic it sounds like that's something like Vector Sigma, the "heart" of Cybertron and what "made" the transformers (excluding the Quintessons). Anyway they might have replaced Matrix with the "Allspark" because of patent issues with Toyota and the other movie "Matrix". Although I hope not... gonk

I think that the allspark is a new word tfor the Matrix but also what is in Optimus's chest is now the "Spark of Leadership". I've seen a new line of graphic toys come out and they had a complete section devoted to Optimus and the new "Spark". So take that for what you will I'm just a noob to all this stuff (personally I just want to see the damn movie).

Vector Sigma IS the heart and soul of Cybertron hence the "Key for Vector Sigma" episode in Season 2 which causes Cybertron to be "reborn".

Bear in mind that this movie is 'based' on G1, not a literal translation of G1. There are boundless to be many differences.
