Ebony shrugged.
"I can understand nothing about our situation at this time, and perhaps it would be best to follow your lead, Third. Glass is barely functioning and is not going to be much help to me if I were to lead. Any particular reason for us to go this way?" Ebony asked archingly.

Kate hunched her shoulders slightly, just enough that no one could possibly notice unless they were either on her shoulders at the time, or had been watching her the entire time; both of which she had doubted. "Alright, we'll try the door." Kate threw the obvious remark out there, as she walked towards the door. She wasn't afraid of the door or anything, just one would assume to try open paths first. But she could see how the first time they tried that worked out. Best to let the older boy go for the lead. If anything else, he would be the first to receive anything on the other side of the door, thus giving her a few moments to react to whatever might happen on the other side of that door.
She reached for the door knob, the cold, and slightly gritty handle made her almost want to let go. It screeched slightly as she turned it, and with a simple sidestep and pull, she opened the door, her body and that of her fireflies, secure behind it. "Who wants to go in first?" she asked, making it plain that she would die before volunteering for such an honor.

Scotty looked at the other two, before stepping forward nervously. "I'll go," he said, finally.
The sooner he could find Trouble, the sooner he could get out of this place.
Scotty started to move towards the door, looking back to check if the others were coming.

Third was right behind him, and Constant too. The next room was quiet enough, normal-seeming enough, but with exits off in three directions. If nothing else, the sheer number of doors boded well for the attempt to relocate Trouble.
Something occurred to Third. "Tell Trouble not to look at any doors in the room." If the doors were changing when no one was looking, perhaps they would change to allow Trouble's location to access the current room when no one was looking.

Scotty nodded.
"Lass?" he called out - hearing his voice echo through the room. "If ye can hear me, dinna look at any of the doors in the room."
Of course I can hear you, came the reply. I'm not deaf as well as dead, you know. She sighed. Alright. I'll do it. I'm sick of being so far away from you.
Scotty blinked. "Did ye say what I think?"
Did I say you? Trouble snorted. Don't flatter yourself. I meant you lot. Yes.
Scotty wasn't convinced, and grinned slightly as he hurried his pace. "Hold on, Trouble. We're coming."
((I love writing the banter between these two - it's strangely fun to write, having them play off each other smile ))

"If we could," Third started, looking back expectantly at the girls, "each look at an exit in this room, since it has four? With each of us covering an exit, we'll be able to locate Trouble faster." Third treated each Forgotten and daemon as a single unit, as any Forgotten might.

Kate had sent her fireflies to examine each door, for some reason their intuition was beyond her own. The Fireflies came back quickly, reported their confusion, and Kate was stuck. She was grateful no one had chosen a room yet; it gave her the best opportunity to get one that, well, wouldn't be scary.
Alright she was scared, this house was doing things she didn't believe in and it bothered her.
Shut your eyes.
Smell the air.
Feel your way.
Which door?
With the guidance of her two fireflies, which seemed no more mature than she, Kate closed her eyes and took deep breaths and considered the doors. She let her innate fear of the unreal lead her mind's touch. She doubted she was doing more then simply picking a door at seemingly random after meditating on which door seemed to look the least scary, but she allowed herself to do it.
She pointed at the door straight in front of them, "I'll take this one." and surely she did. She walked foreword, trying to appear calm, her fire flies floating around her head, shimmering just slightly in the semi lit room. Her hand grasped the cold bronze of the door knob.
No one here to go before you Kate. A warning entered her mind. No one to let it devour first. Just you.
It took her a second to realize the voices in her mind belonged to her fireflies. She gently rotated her hand in the air to give them the signal to back off, without squashing one of them.
She blanked her mind turned the handle and opened the door. She wasn't going to wait, things needed to get done, and...
And...
If she waited, she was afraid she might have lost her resolve before entering. So she entered, and closed the door behind her. No one would follow her. A thought passed through her mind quickly before she focused on the room before her.
How will we all find each other once someone has found trouble?
The dark pun was not lost on her.

"No, don't go--" Third started, but too late. "--through." He let out a loud sigh and looked at Scotty and Ebony and Glass. He was no longer smiling. Children were a bad idea in the House today. "Don't anyone else move!" Third quickly made his way to the door Kate had disappeared through and opened it, hoping Kate and her daemons might still be on the other side.
((Faeyas or Dark or Riannon, any of you can take this. Dark, this is another chance for you to make an entrance, Faeyas, this a chance for you to return Kate to the main group, Riannon, this is a chance to recollect Trouble. First person to reply gets it. Not sure where Natsube went, we'll just assume she joined the room.))

The door revealed Kate, her fireflies...and Trouble.
Scotty laughed. "Oh! You found her!" Before he knew what he was doing, he had flung his arms around Kate, kissing her on the cheek. ((^_^))
Trouble snorted, and rolled her eyes. Definitely should get lost more often. She trotted up to where Third and Constant stood, holding a dark round object in her mouth. Is this one of the things that we're after? the mare inquired.

Ebony did not like this. She didn't like this at all. With Kate and her tiresome little glowbugs missing, along with the horse, Ebony wasn't so sure that Pippin had made a good choice when he chose to allow children to go searching for him.
"So... they've found each other, but what are we to do now? Half of the group is missing."

Kate was most certainly unhappy about being brought backwords instead of forewords. Yes they found the horse, but she was the one who had picked the right door, and on top of that no one else eve had to move! Top be quite honest she would have prefered the group to stay seperate for a bit. Also she could have sworn she found that item first. Once she ensured that the horse and thrid were beyond the door she closed it again. She wanted to get to work, and if it meant the group needed the fear of losing her to start its quest, so be it. She didn't want to be here any longer than nessicary and so far it felt as though all anyone wanted to do was talk sweetly to each other.
The light thought and deception gave off was as bright as any torch as she started to decend a dark stairwell, in her attempt to find the items that were lost.
[EditOOC: Should I maybe get rid of this post?I'm not sure seeing as no one has responded that I'm thinking you all are waiting for somthing but I'm not entirely sure what...]
