Finding the Baby

...

{Phew, it was a hot day outside as two large feathers appeared in the mass of people on the marketplace. The man's purple eyes were filled with joy, while his body was sweating from the crowd's dense athmosphere and felt tense. Still his mood was a serene one as usual. It couldn't be said if it was just because he wasn't able to sense the strange looks others gave him or if he ignored them by will.

Anyway, Faiga whistled an old tune of his tribe and his steps were of a swinging kind as he managed to dig through the people's sweating bodies. He enjoyed the market, because he was able to have some company but nobody tried to talk to him or supressed him to do anything he didn't wanted to. Sometimes people stepped on his toes, but after all he was used to that kind of touch.

His eyes trailed back to the small hill were a yellow spot was moving slightly in the wind. Giacomo was still there, fine. The breeder of chocobos hadn't expected the big yellow bird to run away, but there were always some kids who thought it was funny to chase the animals.

He had come here to get some supplies he wasn't able to grow on his farm alone. Especially some butter was needed. The chobocos' feathers always became extremely soft if they ate butter regularly.

A smile crossed Faiga's features as he noticed the small man not far away from him who was standing on his little booth. His red beard seemed to shiver like a bird baby as he laughed and offered the can of milk to an older woman nearby. "See ya later, m'lady !" He called out as Faiga came into his view. With a happy leap he almost jumped into the breeder's arms and hugged him so tight that Faiga had problems to breath.

"
Nice to see you too, Morton." The well-tanned man coughed and smiled at his favourite booth owner. "Faiga, how may I suit you today, my lad ?" The bearded one laughed and moved back to gather some packs of butter and some milk. "Looks like you very well know what I need." The purple eyes watched the packages of butter and the three cans of milk while his hand was about to put the three empty ones he had been carrying with him on the wooden booth.

"I really don't understand why we never see you in town besides market day." Morton continued as he waited for the gold to wander into his hand. Faiga shrugged as he dropped some coins and gladly accepted the heavy cans and the butter.
"Well, the birds need a lot of care. Have a nice day, Morton." The smaller one nodded and wished him goodbye as Faiga tried to make his way back through the masses. Giacomo was sure still waiting and his gaze focused on the horizon and then concentrated on the well-known hill.

A sigh escaped his lips as he was slightly pushed by a teenage boy and Faiga tightened his grip on the cans. He had often enough managed to spill the milk and had had to go back to the booth and ask for some new one.

As he had almost reached Giacomo his arms became lame and he put down the metallic cans for a moment. Wiping away the sweat on his forehead he realized a shadow close to him. Turning aside he was just able to gasp as a small boy grabbed one of his cans and tried to run away with it. Not being able to carry it properly he was pulling it across the grass.

"HEY ! " It probably wasn't the most intelligent thing to say in that kind of moment, but Faiga was still shocked that somebody dared to steal his milk. Still the boy didn't seem to mind and continued to get off with the just bought can.

Faiga snorted and his feet started to follow the boy as quickly as possible. He was a lean man and quick as well as it suited his profession. Soon he made up to the boy who became more and more nervous and tried to hide behind a large bush. It was just that moment when Faiga tripped over a root and hit the ground with a thud. He heard the boy's giggles and rubbed his aching head. Too dizzy to get up again he crouched towards the bush and pushed the leaves aside.

The boy was already further away, but two yellow eyes stared at him intensively and just a few seconds later a large scratch decorated Faiga's face. With a yelp the man jumped up and started to curse.

Calm, Shiver. The black cat hissed again and then turned towards a small baby girl who was lying on the grass and stared at the sky. Bedazzled about the attack and his found Faiga forgot about the milk thief and picked up the baby girl. Her black locks looked awesomely pretty just as her clothes did. She had to be from another part of the country, Faiga knew nobody with such kind of clothes and such a pale skin around here. Well, indeed he wasn't somebody who knew many people anyway.

"What's your name little one ?" It was more of a rhetorical question as he looked at the girl's eyes, but the small one seemed to understand very well.

"Lys'yum." Faiga laughed friendly and shook his head. What a strange baby girl. The small arm was extened as the hand pointed at the black cat with large ears. "Shiffa."

"Where's your Mommy, Lysium ?" Expecting another answer Faiga watched the baby's expression, but the girl didn't seem to be willing to say anything to that matter. She didn't seem to be scared or exhausted either. Just...calm ?

"Nice to meet you. Come on, let's look if we're able to find your Momma." Faiga mumbled and shouldered the baby insecure. The small black cat followed him suspiciously.

Mayhem in Durem

Playdate with Elias ( Huni Pi )

{Haze was taking a delightful stroll down the streets of Durem. Of all the towns in Gaia, she found herself the most comfortable here. Gambino was too sunny, and too tropical for her tastes. All that sun and she was still incapable of getting a tan. "Wyndres don't tan they burn" was a popular addage back home. Barton was too suburban (if she understood that term correctly) for anything to catch her fancy. Besides, it was a popular residencial area rather than one of commerce. Aekea was too industrial to be relaxing, or comfortable. Machines, machines and oh look, more machines, how interesting.

Durem, on the other hand, was composed of a balance between malls, boutiques, and apartment buildings. It had everything she would ever want or need. And right now she needed to get away from that horrible man, Irlan. The mere thought of the Silarian made her unconsciously grip the handles of the stroller extra firmly.

Elias was in a foul mood that day. He didn't like the new man who now lived with them, and it seemed he wasn't going to leave anytime soon. His older sister Retta accidentally spilt oatmeal on him and was given second bath within the day. And to top it all off he was in the stroller! He loathed the stroller with his entire being.

Uninhabited trotted beside the wheeled contraption, cawing and squawking comfort to her bonded.

We be back home soon, then we play with cousins and pets, yes? She assured him.

Elias didn't seem convinced. Rather, he didn't seem to want to be convinced.

Something big, yellow and feathery made it's way through the crowded streets of Durem City. Coughing exaggeratedly a purple eyes narrowed before turning to a small baby in front of him. His hands were clutched around the leathery attachment of the huge bird and in between sat a girl who looked at her surroundings with curiousity. It was nice here.

A small black cat accompanied the couple and had taken his seat on the bird's head. He appeared to be grinning from time to time when the chocobo ran a bit faster.

We never ever had so much fun ever ever so much fun...

The girl looked at the companion as he said so and shrugged as far as a baby is able to shrug.

Faiga, the man, instead tried to look across Shiver, which was a pretty hard task. He didn't like the city and the cars and the people screaming because he was riding on a bird and not on some kind of swoop bike or car or...

SCREEEECH !

Quickly he pulled at the leather and tried to avoid a crash. The chocobo screamed and Shiver rolled down it's neck to bump right against Lysium, who giggled madly.

The big yellow bird now raced towards a woman and a small boy within a stroller.

"TAKE CARE !" Faiga yelled.

Instincts and reflexes enabled Haze to maneuver herself and her charge out of the oncoming creature's way. Uninhabited tried to run away and tripped on her own feet. She ended up rolling away to safety.

The stroller dashed forward to the sides, avoiding the stampeding, what was it? Once the pounding that was her heartbeat returned to normal, her first reaction was to fix her hair and clothes before checking to see if Elias was alright.

The Forgotten had held his breath the entire time, chubby hands clutched so tightly on the stroller's straps his knuckles were white. With chocolate eyes he frantically searched for Habi. He knew she was still alive, he felt her presence.

Habi? Where? he asked, trying to fight the panic rising in his chest.

The daemon squawked out to reveal her position, she was a few steps away from the stroller and wobbled to her bonded.

"Well you seem alright, I would have expected you to be bawling your eyes after that. You are even worthy of the Wyndre name! But it is too late to recant, an Injo you are and an Injo you shall remain." Haze sighs before narrowing her eyes at the cause.

"Oh no, I'm so sorry, Miss ! That's how they are when they get scared and they get scared easily let me tell you. I mean, I apologize. Are you alright ?"

The chocobo had stopped on the pavement and looked around hastily. Fortunately people seemed to avoid to try to pet him so they were safe for a moment.

Shiver enrolled himself and shook his head while stretching his paws. Hate birds.

Lysium had already spotted the other pair or Forgotten and with a sly grin she pointed at the other daemon. Look !

The cat's features froze and he seemed to frown as he looked from her finger right back into her face.

In the meantime Faiga had gotten of the huge bird and tried to tie him to a lantern. The man was really embarrassed. He didn't come to the city often and most of the time it ended in a disaster, because he just wasn't just to the rules of this place. Since he was taking care of Lysium though he had to come here to buy the necessary baby stuff. Diapers and so on.

His hands moved through his untidy blonde-brown hair as he turned back to the lady and the small boy.

"I should say so! You could have killed my charge and I! And what on Silar is that creature?" Haze asks in obvious distaste. It wasn't that she disliked animals, it was just they reminded her too much of Irlan and his shape-shifting abilities. Her blood boiled at the thought of the man who was now living with them.

Elias wouldn't concentrate on anything else until he was certain Habi was alright. After inspecting the daemon, Elias was assured enough that she was a little dazed but relatively unhurt. It when then he took a good, long look at the large, yellow bird. But it was the pair seated on the chocobo that drew his attention.

Uninhabited followed her bonded's gaze and she squawked in delight. New!

Faiga rubbed his forehead with his temple and grinned. "Which one ? Following the woman's gaze though it became obvious to him what she was talking about and blushed right away.

"Oh yeah, that one ! Chocobo. I'm a chocobo breeder. They are made for riding them." He didn't meet people outside his tribe often and so he hadn't estimated that anyone could not know about the beloved birds.

Lysium focused on the boy for a moment and then looked at the daemon. Her face didn't show any emotion for a moment and then her mouth twitched slightly.

Shiver instead started to hiss at once. His fur became thicker and he looked like a fluffball glaring down at the bird.

Calm. Lysium looked at him with a mixture of disgust and amusement.

It was the noise that made Faiga recognise that Lysium was still up there and he quickly pulled her off the bird's back to cradle her in his arm so she was still able to see Elias.

"Could I invite you for a coffee to say sorry ?"

"You breed these things as your livelihood?" Haze didn't seem impressed in the least. She often viewed breeding any animal that didn't fall under the exotic category as menial and involving little skill or intelligence. Her hands akimbo, she was about to turn his offer down when she heard Habi keen.

Uninhabited was cawing and keening in delight and triumph at her bonded's success at escaping the dreaded stroller. Yayayayayaaaa!!! She chirped, flapping her wings in the same manner as clapping.

Elias winced, knowing that Habi's squawking would draw Haze's attention to him. He had wanted to get a good look at Lysium and her daemon before Haze interfered. And now that his guardian's eyes were focused on him, he only gurgled proudly that it was indeed what it looked like.

"By Yrast, Elias don't embarrass me!" Haze hissed as she bent down to scoop up Elias into her arms. "Coffee does not sound too appealing to me, a salad would be preferable." She tells Faiga.

The Forgotten seems apprehensive of the sudden proximity with the ground but he sets his attention to the small girl in Faiga's arms. She was like him, wasn't she?

"Haaaa!!" He greets her with a bright smile.

The winged daemon pads up to rest beside Haze's feet, and she balances herself onto her hindlegs, her front paws waving at Lysium, Shiver and the Chocobo. After all, the large yellow bird was a bird! And Habi was part bird.

"Yes, I do, Mam." As usual Faiga quickly thought was he had said something wrong. This was a very usual behaviour for the young man and so he rubbed the back of his head quite embarrassed.

"A salad it shall be then. Do you recommend a place to sit ?" His eyes trailed around before petting the chocobo's neck to calm him.

The cat didn't stay calm as he was told though and circled around Faiga's legs while his eyes trailed towards the new pair again and again. Hate birds, Lys.

The girl looked down at him from her position in the man's arms and for a moment you could see a grin on her face. She turned back to the creature that waved with it's paw and the guy with the long hair. It was a boy, wasn't it ?

"Shoo." Lys pointed at the pair and nodded.

Shiver hissed at the sound and his fur started to rise as he moved closer.

"Seems like our children like each other. Cute little one has a pet too ?" Faiga continued his conversation and looked at Uninhabited wondering what kind of species it was. Quickly he tried to hush Shiver. "Bad kitty, don't do that."

Haze was not in the least bit concerned if she offended Faiga or not, "Yes, there is a place I frequent not too far from here. Although I highly doubt it would let your-" she gives the Chocobo a once-over "Means of transportation inside. It would have to be kept in a stable of sorts, or a roost, or whatever it is their homes are called. But you probably have no trouble with eating in simpler settings."

Elias frowned at Shiver's reaction, he reminded him of Fray's daemon. Why have all the daemons they've met been so unfriendly? "Meeeen~" he pointed at the cat. "Shoo? Noo! E'yas!" he declares, pointing to himself, "Habi." he then gestures to his daemon.

Habi cocked her head to the side in dismay, why was the cat so angry at her? She hadn't done anything to upset it. Yet. She cringes at the possibility of her screwing up again.

"Elias is not my child, he is my charge." Haze corrects, "I assume that these two are Forgotten Documents as well? My name is Haze K. Wyndre, by the by."

And whether they like each other is yet to be determined.
Haze thinks to herself.

Faiga understood her implications very well and frowned slightly. Instead of feeling offended he felt guilty as usual. "He's able to stay outside." The man mumbled and made sure that the chocobo didn't harm any people. Scratching his throat in the right way the bird became drowsy and tired.

CALM, Shiver.

The cat stopped and looked up towards Lysium. He was just about to protest as the girl nodded at him. Shutting up his tail curled around his left backleg and he just watched Elias and Habi now. He wasn't mean, he just didn't like birds. Point.

"E'yas." The girl's voice was firm but not unfriendly as she repeated the name. "Lys'm." Pointing down at the cat she smiled. "Shiffaa."

"Forgotten what ?" Faiga had started to move closer so the woman could lead the way as he was startled by her question. "Faiga Cerecenar. Sorry for asking, but what are Forgotten Documents ?"

Perhaps the woman was talking about the cat and the bird ? Strange relations ?

Haze was still unimpressed by the chocobo, or by Faiga for that matter. However, her coldness warmed slightly as he asked her what Forgotten Documents were. He reminded her of her own lack of knowledge, and she answered him nicely.

"These children are called Forgotten Documents. They arrive from a book found in this very, very, very horrible house with a library inside it. Their animal companions are supposedly called daemons. At least that is what I have learned so far. How long have they been in your care?" She asks as she returns Elias back into his stroller. She does not bother to strap him in this time, realizing he would manage to escape somehow.

"Hiyeee Lys'm, Shiffaa," Elias greeted brightly with a wave. He pat his lap, signalling to his daemon to get in the stroller with him.

Habi complies, her wings still drooped in dismay at Shiver. She squawked and cawed at the pair in apology, though she had yet done anything wrong.

Faiga tried to listen but his attention span was pretty short and so he quickly drifted off and watched the cars. When she came to the question part he turned back to her face and seemed a bit irritated at first.

"Two days. I found her at a market all alone. Perhaps her true parents will send me a message and Lysium and her kitty can get home. Although I doubt it because the paper she had attached to her forehead said 'Take care, Lysium and Shiver'." Faiga shrugged and watched Elias being put back into the stroller. He needed to buy such a thing.

Lysium waited until he shifted her into a more comfortable position. Actually she didn't dislike to look down from above. Shiver was much closer to these people though. Look at cloth. The girl demanded and the cat, who had been about to lick his paw rolled his eyes. Nah...

Still he moved towards the stroller and eyed the bird cautiously. He was still a very little kitty and the bird's beak looked dangerous.

"Shiffaa loog." Lysium explained to the other Forgotten.

Well, Faiga certainly lost whatever chance he had for getting on Haze's good side. It was one thing for her not to pay attention, it was another to have him not pay attention to her!

"I see, then you never experienced the horrible thing that is the House." It was evident she wasn't impressed by how he found Lysium and Shiver. And it was also evident that she wasn't all that bothered by the fact they had been abandoned.

Habi cawed happily at Shiver, her wings flapping as she extended one of her front paws at the cat.

"Hiyo." she squawked to Shiver.

Elias nodded in understanding at Lysium, Shiver was more than welcomed to look. If the cat wanted he could even ride with them. Come to think of it, why doesn't he offer?

"Shiffaa wan up?"

"House ?" Faiga's head snapped back and cocking his head to one side he tried to listen. "What kind of house ?"

Shiver definately looked like a cat which had been washed. Disgust could be seen on his face for a moment as he eyed the bird. Well - at least he looked a bit like a bird. "Hey..." Pulling up his right front paw for a moment before allowing it to get back in place, he grinned a bit and revealed his teeth by doing so.

"Go and loog." Lysium told her daemon, who wasn't very fond of this command. Still he did what she wanted him to do. Actually he had wanted her to go on her own, but she COULDN'T. Damn Faiga guy...

Shiver jumped onto the stroller and almost hit one of Habi's wings, because he still was a bit clumsy with movements and jumping. What now ?

"An insane, maniacal, megalomaniac house that sends you places against your will. And before you even consider that I had not been in my proper state of mind, I was. There was something magical and insidious about that establishment." Haze warns as she flips her hair indignantly at having been trapped.

The stroller was small and was a tight fit, and in Habi's attempts at making herself more comfortable, she ended up falling out of the stroller entirely. With a keen and a pained squawk, she tried to kick herself upright and only manages to upset the stroller.

A cry of surprise barely escapes Elias' lips as he found himself falling onto the sidewalk. He lands on his shoulder and instinctively gasps in pain.

"By Yrast! Elias!" Haze gasps, quickly kneeling down to pick up the baby. "This contraption is so unreliable." She mutters.

Faiga nodded at the adjectives as if it helped him to remember it better later on. Lysium still in his grasp he moved his hand slowly along her curly hair. The girl smirked and watched the scene. Shiver had ruined it all.

As Elias hits the ground Shiver tries to jump off and luckily lands on his feet - well, and on his tail. Yowling like he had been hurt heavily the cat dashed off into Lysium's direction and dramatically dropped himself in front of Faiga's feet.

The man seemed a bit overwhelmed at the scene and just blinks. "Shivvaaa." Lysium demands and is set down on the pavement by Faiga. Quickly she strokes across the daemons fur. "You not hurt."

Shiver sniffles and looks back at the other pair.

"Perhaps we really should go and get something to eat so the kids can forget about this ?" Faiga proposed whereas Lysium seemed to look at the hurt Elias curiously.

Uninhabited pads towards her bonded and their guardian, wings drooped in apology. She nudges Haze with her head, squawking pitifully. I sorry.

"This is all your fault, you clumsy little beast." Haze hisses at the daemon, "I wonder if I can get rid of her before she causes any more damage."

Elias rubbed his shoulder to ease the pain, but is otherwise fine. He looks down and instantly tries to reach for Habi. Is 'kay. He assures the daemon.

At Faiga's suggestion, Haze nods "Yes, onwards then." And leads the way to her preferred bistro. The stroller is left on the street, but if Haze had looked at it more closely, she would have seen that the strap looked like it had been eaten away.

Lysium opened her mouth, but didn't say a word as she was picked up again. After all she disliked to be carried around, but her clothes hindered her from crawling faster and this place was so dirty.

"It's just an animal. They usually just want your best." Faiga commented more secure and made sure that Shiver followed. The cat was still pouting.

Why you say sorry to woman ? Shiver asked the bird thing and waved his tail slightly as they entered the bistro.

"Where do you want to sit ?" The man addressed the children with a smile and then looked at Haze uncomfortably.

Habi quirked her head at Shiver, why shouldn't she apologize? She did upset the stroller after all, and then there was the time she knocked over a vase at home, and when she accidentally pecked at Haze's calf. Habi seems to be a real magnet for accidents.

"Cuz is my wrong?" She responded, round eyes blinking. Was that a wrong answer?

Elias was fine, now that the pain was gone he focused himself on Lysium more. She wore funny clothes, they were a lot like the ones Haze wore except smaller. And in different colors. He wondered if she chose to dress like that or if she was forced into them the way Haze constantly made Elias dress up in gaudy baby attire. Why couldn't the red-head understand he preferred minimal prints?

"In the far, far, far back. Where hopefully no one will-"

"Haze, love!"

The woman cringed at the voice, she didn't need to turn around to see it was Irlan. How could he have known she'd be here?

Shiver moved alongside the bird with a very self-conscious expression on his face and flicked his ears.

Stroller wrong. The cat explained the bird. It had hurt his tail, the stupid stroller thing. It should suffer for it.

Lysium was very interested in Elias' hair and smile slightly as her hand tried to make it possibly to touch it. The other one didn't seem to mind because he was watching her as well and so...

The girl was distracted by another approaching person and eyed him with interest. Faiga had been about to follow towards the back side of the bistro as the voice startled him. "Erm..hi."

Uninhabited chirped in surprise, so it wasn't her fault that the stroller fell over? She cawed in delight and relief, her wings flapping to express her joy. "Yaaaay, not me wrong!"

Of course, this little action ended up hitting Haze's ankles, thus surprising both parties. The Silarian gave a startled gasp, half-leaping and half-stepping forward. She ended up pressed against Faiga, with Elias and Lysium sandwiched between them.

This was the sight that Irlan saw when he caught up to Haze. His eyes seemed to flare with mad jealousy, but he kept a smile on his lips. "Fancy seeing you here, Haze. Who's the runt?" He sneers at Faiga.

The cat nodded to stress his wise attitude and was able to move away from the bird just in time. Ouch, she was clumsy. Perhaps it indeed WAS her fault.

Woah, woah, why do you not fly ? Shiver quickly moved below a chair and watched the scene making sure that Lysium was alright.

Said girl felt herself pushed against Elias and his mother and frowned hardly. Still she was able to get hold of his hair now and grabbed it with a smile. "Sof'." Lys added with a affirmative gesture.

Faiga's face became as red as the stripes attached to his cheeks as the woman ended up so close to him. Oh boy, oh boy, oh....
Purple eyes grew wide as the lad came closer and called him a runt. Come on that wasn't fair. Besides the guy was her husband or something, then they were in trouble.

"F-F-Faiga. You ?" He managed to stutter and tried to look friendly, which ended up in a dumb expression.

Uninhabited never considered why she was always travelling on her feet instead of flying. Why doesn't she fly? "Dunno, mebbe wings no strong?" That seemed a good explanation to her as any. After all, if something was amiss it was usually her fault.

"Wha sof?" Elias asked, was the other Forgotten talking about his hair? He hoped Lysium wasn't the sort who pulled on hair, after all he loved pulling Haze's. Reaching out to Lysium, he stopped inches away from her locks. "Can tach?" he asked for permission first, it was one thing to just grab Haze's hair, it was nother to grab another Forgotten's. There was just something about it that he felt he needed to be allowed first.

Irlan was a good half-decade older than Haze, but age wasn't something Silarians considered relevant, especially those from Irlan or Haze's country. Before Haze could say anything, Irlan cut in "The name's Irlan, Fega."

Haze glared at the cerulean-haired man, but rather than stepping away from Faiga, the red-head stayed put, she even went so far as to move in closer to him.

"Now, now, Irlan. That's not nice, you knew perfectly well that the mislabelling technique is reserved for enemies." Haze could see right through his tactics.

Shiver looked at his paws and noticed that he had once again forgotten about drawing in his claws. Quickly he sat down on the scratches so they weren't visible to the others. After making sure nobody had noticed he looked back at the bird. "You no bird then ?" The cat was confused about the other daemon's behaviour.

"Hair." Lysium mentioned and moved her hands along the long hair with a thoughtful expression on her face. Indeed she didn't want to tug on it, but perhaps she could take a bit of it for other purposes. She hoped that a little strand would get lose and then...

Gasping at his question Lysium's eyes grew wide. HER precious hair ? It was curly and made pretty and... wouldn't he like her anymore when she refused to do so ? "Take Shiva." She finally concluded and pointed at the kitty.

Faiga couldn't help but feel good as Haze came closer and a triumphant grin appeared on his face as he looked at Irlan. A few seconds later he remembered that he didn't know about the other guy and his position and that it probably wasn't such a good idea. Still he wrapped one arm around Haze and narrowed his eyebrows. "Nice to meet you, Erlan."

Alright, the behaviour was childish, but Faiga was fond of being childish.

Folding her wings behind her, Uninhabited mimic-ed Shiver by sitting down as well. She blinked her eyes in confusion at the other daemon's question, "Birdie? Noooooo, I no birdie. I Habi!" She squawked in a manner almost akin to giggling. "Habi not kitty, not doggy, not fishie, just Habi." She beamed, she felt somewhat proud to be unclassified. Unless of course that would make being friends with Shiver more difficult, and that possibility made her wings droop slightly. "You like birdies?"

If Lysium wanted some of Elias' hair, all she needed to do was ask. Of course, Elias didn't know Lysium wanted a strand or two so he made no attempt to tell her. He pulled his hand back at Lysium's reaction to his request, good thing he had asked then!

"Shiffa sof', yes." He grinned, having already managed to touch the feline daemon.

Irlan still continued to smirk, and yet he clenched his fists ever so slightly. Oh, why does Haze tease him so? "Were you all going to grab a bite to eat without a proper chaperone?" he asks.

It took a great deal of Haze's will power not to twitch or lash out at Irlan's question. How dare he invite himself? "Regardless, you're neither proper nor a chaperone so it really doesn't concern you. Shall we, Faiga?" Her smile was unbelievably warm, quite the opposite of how she had appeared when she first spoke to the breeder.

Shiver watched the other daemon and allowed her to accompany him. Once in a while he glanced at Lysium to make sure she was alright, but after all she was the larger one of them. Yellow eyes switched back to the partner in conversation. "Habi, yeah ?"

The cat wasn't sure what to think of it, but perhaps it was a kind of race. He hadn't known chocobos before, too. "Good. Nah, don' like birdies."

Lysium appreciated Elias' behaviour and looked at her own tiny fingers. A tiny hair had become lose and was in her possession now. "Mine ?" It was hard to define if it was a statement or a question at first, but after all it was meant in a polite but demanding way.

After reminding the other daemon's name Lysium nodded. "Habi fun-e."

Faiga was quite sure know that he'd never understand women. Watching Irlan's behaviour and listening to his words it was pretty obvious that the other male liked Haze. Jealous.

One hand was still resting on Haze's body as he looked at the woman. Woah, she was smiling so friendly. Perhaps she liked him and just wasn't able to show it ?

"Of course !" It blurted out of the guardian and he tightened his grip on Lysium. That had been to quick, he guessed. "I mean - sure, no chaperone needed."

Habi was practically oblivious to anything outside her conversation with Shiver. Her chest puffed out slightly in delight. Finally, another daemon who didn't want to bite her or her bonded. She was beginning to relax around Shiver and a relaxed Habi was the best sort to be around. "What Shiver like?"

Elias nodded enthusiastically to Lysium's request. "Ya, yous." He was glad to be able to give something to Lysium, even if it was just a strand of his hair. At the praise, Elias beamed, it was a rare thing for someone to say good things about Habi. Most of the time, the people at home weren't very patient with the accident-prone daemon.

"Ya, Habi aw-thom." He grinned in pride before adding "Shiffa nais."

Haze fought back a twitch, she figured Faiga was either unaccustomed being around women or it was his first time to be the scapegoat. Given his reaction, Haze couldn't decide between the two guesses. "If you wish to actually be useful, Irlan, then I would advise you to leave." She smiled at him in a manner that made lesser men break down and cry.

Irlan was used to this sort of treatment, and he could always ruin their fun in another way. He moved closer and bowed graciously to the pair, before idly stomping down on Faiga's foot. "Oh my, did I do that?" he blinked in feigned innocence.

Shiver watched the other ones feathers and wondered why Habis looked so bird-like. Startled at the question at first the daemon answered quickly. "Lys." Looking up at the baby in Faiga's arms he smiled a bit. "And - play. Habis play ?"

Lysium attached the strand of hair to her clothes and made sure it wasn't able to go away. "Tanku." The girl really appreciated the gift and leaned against the guardian's chest. Not quite sure what aw-thom meant, but it sounded good. Lysium herself didn't know if Shiver was something to be proud of, she never had thought about it actually. He was Shiver and always there and sometimes he scratched her accidentally. "Shiffa is Shiffa."

Haze was really a woman who knew what she wanted even if she was direct. Faiga felt a bit overwhelmed by the situation. First he received Lysium and the cat and now this woman and....

Faiga noticed the other one's movements and also the pressure on his foot, but luckily he was used to this kind of treatment when working with the big yellow birds. They had often stomped onto his feet. Smirking slightly he just shrugged. "Don't worry, I'm used to it."

to be continued ...

Meadow Whispers

Lysium's Thoughts

{Curly black locks were pressed against a tickling blanket of green grass as Shiver sneezed and accidently his whole fur began to brizzle. Lysium giggled. The cat looked like a little fluffball and she felt warm, because of the sun which was shining happily down on her belly. The baby girl was lying on a meadow and the little cat daemon was situated next to her.

Faiga had put her down and was now working a few metres away with the big yellow birds she had already got to know. It's nice, Lys. The cat purred and licked one of his paws to gently rub it against his head. Lysium watched him and nodded quietly.

The baby was thinking about the meeting they had had before. Her finger were playing with the soft silk of her clothes and the movements of Shiver made her calm down. This place was a nice one, it was warm and peaceful. The wind was making the trees shiver and Faiga offered her milk regularly.
Still she didn't feel comfortable. Reaching out for Shiver's fur she started to rub his belly a bit and the cat enjoyed the treatment.

A small smile was conjured onto Lysium's face.

Apples

Playdate with Althalus ( Kel-Chan )

{Althalus peered around the corner of the building before stepping out. Mother had wanted to go into the House, but he wanted to be outside...it was going to be cold soon again, best to enjoy the weather while he could, he thought optimistically.
It's not exactly warm today. Came the caustic answer to that, and Althalus laughed slightly, reaching a hand to the disgruntled daemon on his shoulder.
"Best you'll get soon enough," he said pointedly, before pattering a few more steps onwards, towards the approach to the House. Mother could go get lost in there; he'd be fine outside.
"And besides, there are still trees around out here," he went on softly, looking across to the scrubby foliage along the outer wall. "We could get more food..." The pockets of the skinny child were already bulging with previous attempts, and thinking abut it the Forgotten pulled a small, wrinkled apple from his pocket and rubbed it on his sleeve, dark eyes bright.

Lysium refused to wear something like THAT ! She stared at Faiga in disbelief as he tried to push a something out of wool onto her head. It looked horrible, he totally had no taste in anything and it wasn't nice for her skin and after all it was...yellow. The girl frowned hardly, but no sound escaped her lips as she watched Shiver who didn't seem to understand her behaviour. His tail was curled around his legs as he was seated on top of the chocobo's head, a large riding bird the three of them were sitting on.
Bad stuff ?
Makes scratching, like fleas.
The girl let him know.

Faiga had wanted to show the child something else, but he hadn't manage to leave the damn cat alone. Being an animal friendly person he didn't mind too much and so they were riding through the streets and Faiga tried to keep the little bobble cap on the baby's head.

Shiver knew only one way to help her : He jumped of the chocobo right into Althalus' garden.

Althalus' head snapped round at the lithe black shape that darted over the garden wall. Mau? Was it his cat?
Daemon. Stealth's voice echoed sharply in his head, and the boy blinked. Daemon? One from the Library?

He shoved the apple back in his pocket, and ran over to the wall, crouching slightly beside the daemon, but politely not reaching to touch it, looking up in bemusement at the wall.

"Hey, little guy.... where's your girl? What are you doing here?" He asked quietly, Stealth unlatching her tail slowly and deliberately walking down his arm, scales fading to brown to reflect the fabric her little claws hooked in.

Shiver watched the one approaching and stretched his muscles before giving the stranger his best don't come to close look. Actually it didn't seem to work out properly. He started to feel uncomfortable already and hoped Faiga and Lysium would come closer quickly.

Now,what was that ? The other one talked to him and he felt strangely...familiar ? Smirking Shiver noticed a movement on the other one's arm and hissed slightly. What was it ?

Lysium watched the cat with curiousity as Faiga sighed and got off the chocobo. A little boy and a lizard ? What had he gotten into actually...

"Come back, Shiver." The man mumbled while Lysium extended one finger and pointed at the stranger. Get hat.

Althalus stood slowly, peering up at the face that was appearing over the wall. A man? That wasn't what the daemon meant, surely?

"What're you looking at?" He asked candidly, blinking dark-circled large eyes. "You this one's daddy?" He pointed the arm which Stealth balanced easily on down at the cat-like creature that hissed oddly. What was with it? Had it never come across another one or something?

Hey, don't look at me like that, Stealth sent snarkily at the other daemon, rolling to grip on the underside of Althalus' arm, peering down at the other. She knew other daemons could talk to her, she'd talked to Curiousity, hadn't she? Maybe this one would reply.

Faiga blushed slightly as he looked at the young boy and scratched his head with one hand while the other one made sure that Lysium didn't fall off the big yellow bird. "Sorry, my name's Faiga, this one is my daughter's cat." Aware that it probably would take a bit longer to get Shiver back he decided to pick up the baby girl and put her on the wall. "This is Lysium."

So-called cat had nothing better to do but squint his eyes and sniff at the other daemon. You are same as me. Shiver declared and looked at the interesting other one. He looked just like the other one's skin. Perhaps he could ask this one for the hat ?

Lysium watched Shiver intensively and then pointed at Althalus' hat again.

We want the hat.

Althalus snorted. Ignorant! He pattered over to the wall and clambered up it agilely to sit, dangling his bare feet over at the street side.

"Not a cat, silly. Daemon. Like mine." He tilted his head at the silently pointing baby. "Lysium's daemon?" He smiled charmingly at the little girl, ignoring the hesitant man. Stealth returned to scamper up his shoulder, latching around his neck and turning a tan shade to match his skin.

Close. You're from the Library too. Name? Stealth's bright black eyes blinked once. Names were important, somehow.

Faiga really didn't know how to deal with the boy. He was probably better with chocobos and so he just grinned sheepishly and looked for a way to make sure that the riding bird stayed. "Daemon...uh...yes." Hadn't another person told him about that ?

Lysium instead smirked and looked at Althalus curiously. She hadn't met a taller child before and so this was something that interested her a lot. Extending one pale hand delicately she nodded. "D'mon." Her voice was unexpectedly dark, but not in a bad way.

Shiver. How you do that ? He was talking about changing colour. It was something he'd like to do as well. Sometimes when he stood inside the shadows you were only able to see his eyes, that was always a lot of fun.

"Lysium speaks?" The boy brushed the scruffy fringe away from his eyes and tucked it more away under his bandana, though it almost immediately fell away again. "Pleased to meet you. I'm Althalus." His voice was sweet and friendly, but he was almost ignoring the tall man. "Stealth says your daemon is called Shiver?"

Cause I'm clever like that, came Stealth's cheeky reply.

Lysium nodded slightly and her tiny hands were wondering down her fabalous clothes to straighten them a little. She didn't want to look that dirty at all. A conversation was always difficult, but talking wasn't her best ability. She could do things with her hands, nice things. "Shiva." For a moment a soft smile was conjured onto her lips as she eyed cat. She wanted that thing on Althalus' head and Shiver had to get it for her, walking and moving and such was...difficult.

I'm clever TOO ! Shiver pouted. He was an honourable hunter of everything and now that little thing that changed colours wanted to insult him. Not directly, but...she wanted to, didn't she ? We make fight bout thing... Looking at the item Lysium wanted he became afraid out of sudden and his claws extended unwillingly. He wasn't good at holding them back yet.

Althalus blinked slightly as he gauged the reaction of the enigmatic babe and the suddenly nervous daemon. What had he said wrong now?
Stealth, play nice, he chided gently.
I am playing nice, the small gecko-daemon grumbled slightly, but wrapped her tail more lovingly around Althalus' neck, before blinking back at Shiver.
Thing, what thing? No need to fight....

Althalus stared at the little girl, a sudden brainwave hitting as he shifted around more carelessly on the wall. He reached into his pocket, pulling out one of the small, sweet apples and holding it out with a smile. "Here, Lysium want an apple? They're nice, you know...."

Lysium didn't show a sign of interest in Shiver's idea of a fight. She was well aware that he used to hunt everything he could get and that was fine as long she received the something.
As she didn't pay attention an apple was offered to her and her eyes suddenly focused on the fruit. It had a nice colour and so she gladly accepted the offer. She knew how the game went, you get something and give something in return. Wrapping her small fingers around the apple she looked up and smiled slightly at Althalus. "Nice."

What to make out of this, Shiver ?

Thing on your friend's head...that thing...but no fight then...'s alright... The cat purred and managed to give Stealth a look which said that he knew what he was talking about. As usual he didn't have a clue. Smelling the scent of the apple he turned to Lysium and rubbed his head against her side. Smells good.

"Eat apple?" Lysium moved the fruit towards her mouth and looked at Althalus.

"Sure! Apples are for eating. I've got more," and the boy patted his pockets cheerfully. What did she think they were for, wearing? He grinned again, Stealth laughing in the privacy of their heads before she suddenly darted down Althalus' shirt to perch on his knee, staring at Shiver, fading to the muddy black of his trousers.

Fighting is silly. Words stop fighting. And those things are ours, she said sweetly.

Shiver felt stupid as he listened to Stealth words. In some ways he was still a baby himself and so he couldn't comprehend the deeper meaning behind the lizard's sentences. It just made him feel uncomfortable and so he pouted.

What you like to do ?

Lysium comforted the cat by promising him to pet him at home silently, while she tried to believe Althalus. Still there was more about apples. Nibbling on an edge of it she quickly managed to see that beside the red there was something more yellowish. And the red stuff could be created into new things. Slowly she started to peel the apple with her fingers. "Stalth..."

"Hey, you're right," Althalus blinked, and smiled again, eyes calculating as he watched the methodical babe peel at the apple. "Stealth is here," and he reached a grubby finger to stroke the small lizard's head tenderly. "My version of your Shiver. Your daddy know that?" He addressed his words to the little girl, but the question was still pointed at the guardian that still hovered nearby.

"And you eat the stuff on the inside. Ca'ful, you'll get sugar juice all on your fingers," he warned absently.

Lysium was very careful, but laughed slightly as Althalus pointed at him daemon. "Nooo...Stalth...'ere.." The peeled of red skin from the apple was formed into something new by her tiny hands. It looks scrumbled and couldn't be detected at first, but slowly it looked a bit like the small lizard. At least it had a tail and legs and even eyes. The girl giggled slightly as Shiver started to purr.

Faiga instead just watched the scene and scratched his head. "Sorry, Althalus it was, right ? Well...what do you mean by version ?" Sometimes kids were just strange, the man knew. He didn't have much contact with other children, but it was an accepted fact, wasn't it ?

Althalus looked up, his expression slightly scornful. "Lysium come from the Library, like me. She 'n her Shiver are together, like me and Stealth. Didn't you even know that?"

Stealth meanwhile was eyeing the busily moving hands of the babe. Was she squishing the skin up, and trying to make it look like -her-? The small gecko-daemon was half highly amused, and half affronted, and she brought Althalus' attention to this pointedly. The boy blinked, and twisted his head back down to peer at Lysium and her forming creation.

"Of course I knew that !" Faiga mumbled, but he wasn't a very good liar. The woman they had met in the city had told him the same and the boy had had an animal as well. It was a bit creepy. "But say, what makes your kind so special again ?" He was the grown-up, the other one had to respect him. Yes...perhaps...

Lys good with hands. Shiver announced proudly and watched Stealth with amusement. Perhaps she liked his new apple-self ?
The girl herself smiled as she managed to smooth the apple lizard's surface and handed it carefully to Althalus. "Stalth..."

Althalus shifted around his position on the wall again, tucking one foot underneath him as he took the small creation just as carefully.
"A gift for me? Hey! Thank you," and he smiled charmingly again. No harm in making a good impression, even if the appleskin lizard was fragile, likely to go off, and not really any use. But still, it was a gift... he grinned, and put it on top of his bandana, the red merging with red.
"Is a bit like Stealth, huh..."
I look like nothing of the sort, and the daemon on his knee opened her mouth in a silent reproach, pink tongue appearing scornfully for a moment and then disappearing again.

Come on, does a little, -smileimage-
You are growing a bigger fool than I thought then -DISAPPROVAL-
Doesn't that mean you are too, dearest?
......

Althalus laughed out loud, taking another apple from his pocket and throwing it up and down in one hand idly.
"The gift is pretty, Lys," and he grinned. "Don't forget to eat apple too though...."

The man's question he pointedly ignored.

Lysium giggled slightly and a pleased smile was conjured onto her lips as Althalus appreciated the gift. Now she started to nibble on the apple and watched him while Shiver was jumping around. The daemon didn't seem to have any patience left. This was boring.

Can we play ? Please ? Can we play ? Lysium watched him for a moment before returning to Althalus. She knew that Shiver would calm down if she ignored him.

Faiga watched the scene full of misery. It just wasn't fair, the kid was laughing at him. Perhaps he should try it in a nice way ? Coughing he slowly petted Shiver and smiled. "So, do you visit this library often ?"

Lysium was startled by the voice but then continued to eat the apple.

Althalus stared. He hadn't met that many other Forgotten with their guardians as well, but the man was allowed to -touch- the daemon? He put his hand instinctively to cover Stealth on his knee, and she wormed her way back into his touch slightly, tail wrapping around his wrist, colour fading to shadow and skin. He couldn't imagine anyone else touching Stealth except him...

He blinked a little, to regain his composure. Maybe it was just a them thing. After all, that little girl he had met in the summer had an elephant-daemon. Her mother must have had to touch it... he shook his head slightly, the easy smile reappearing as he jumped to his feet, balancing perfectly on the wall.

"Sometimes. Mother takes me to the Library, but it's weird there."

Lysium seemed to listen to the conversation out of sudden. She had noticed a certain unease in Althalus' behaviour and so he received her attention. Where did that feeling come from ?

Tilting her head to one side she looked at the jumping boy and then leaned back. Her head was still a bit heavy for herself, but she managed to look at Faiga, who was standing behind her. She didn't mind that he stroked Shiver, the daemon enjoyed it.

"'brary."

Faiga smiled at Althalus with gritted teeth and then looked at Lysium. "Oh you want to visit this library thing, Lysium ?" The baby remained silent again and grabbed Shiver who was pushed onto her lap gently. The cat purred and rolled himself around. Lysium started to get tired, this was an exhausting meeting.

"Perhaps...your Mother could take down the address for me ?"

"You want me to go in and ask her?" Althalus removed the small applemade lizard from his head carelessly, slipping it into his pocket to rest on the other things there. Stealth remained in his hand for a while longer, before winding her way up his arm to his shoulder again as the boy jumped agilely off the wall into the garden again.

"I'll go get her. Nice to meet you, Lysium! Don't forget apples are tasty, 'k?" He grinned charmingly again before pattering swiftly across the garden to disappear into the house.

A short while later a flustered looking red-haired woman came hurrying out, a piece of paper in her hand.

"Hello? I'm so sorry that Althalus kept you talking at the wall, you could have come inside, you know..."

"Thanks." Faiga mumbled and watched Althalus move away.

Lysium nodded and moved her hand in a silent goodbye. NEXT TIME WE'LL PLAY ! Shiver shouted after Stealth and grinned at the girl as she gave him a strange look. He knew she didn't like it when he was that hyper.

Her 'daddy' was instead busy with trying not to blush. Damn, why did he have to have such a problem with women ? A slight smile crossed his lips as he greeted Kel. "I hope you don't think I'm one of these bad people talking to kids..uhm..Althalus said something about a library and..." The words just didn't seem to come out right.

Lysium felt that the man was insecure and looked at Shiver, who nodded. "Lys-um."

Faiga stared at his daughter and then became as red as a fresh tomato. "My name's Faiga..."

"Pleased to meet you, Faiga." Kel smiled warmly, coming over to lean on the wall. "And don't worry, Althalus told me you had care of a Forgotten as well, so I figured you couldn't be all that bad...."

"And the Library?" The woman looked a little puzzled as she idly waved her fingers in a greeting at Lysium. "Surely that annoying place is where you found this little one?"

Althalus hung at the back door, still watching, eyes guarded and thoughtful. Done the introducing, now the analysing...

Faiga was glad that Kel didn't seem to mind his insecurity and nodded slightly as he heard her speak. Putting his hands on Lysium's shoulders he smiled. She was an adorable little baby, of course a bit strange, but adorable.

As the woman started to talk about the library though he shook his head slightly in disapproval. "No, I'm sorry, I found her close to a marketplace in the grass. There was already another woman who told me about the library, but Lysium...I didn't find her there. Perhaps her former mother ?" Scratching his head he looked at the girl, who wasn't able to show him the truth.

Lysium just studied Kel and listened to the mumbled words of Shiver, who was sure that Althalus and Stealth were still around. Somewhere.

Kel blinked. And blinked again, before passing over the piece of paper gravely.

"Okay, on here is an address. To a House..." the capitilazation slipped almost unconsciously into her speech, ".... and perhaps if you can, find a man called Pippin. He'll be able to tell you a lot more about your little girl, I'm sure, more than I can ever explain. Needless to say... it's probably important." She smiled weakly. "Did you happen to find a slip of paper with her, at least?"

Faiga listened and appreciated the paper. "Thanks, I'll try." Thinking about the words he quickly shook his head. "Nah, no piece of paper..." Lysium squinted her eyes at his response though and so he tried to remember some more. "Wait, I found a strange paper inside her clothes as I washed them the first time. It was old and it had something strange about the night and a city of light on it...yeah..is this kind of paper important ?" Faiga was sure he had it somewhere at home, hopefully.

"You've still got it?" Kel let out her breath slowly. "Don't lose it. It... almost defines her, you know?" Her smile was slightly worried. "Go to the Library, and find out. I'd be terrible at explaining, but it's probably important for you to know. " She scratched at her head, and then pulled a pencil from behind her ear, tugging at the address she'd just handed over and reaching to scribble a number.

"THis is my number though, if you still can't find it, and I'll take you there, okay? I think Althalus would get mad at me apart from anything else." She shrugged, and looked back at the house, where a pair of chocolate eyes blinked and disappeared further into the shadows of the doorway.

Confused didn't describe Faiga's expression well enough, but it was the closest description possible. He swallowed and then nodded slightly looking at the piece of paper in his hands. This sounded serious and serious was often a problem especially when it was important for somebody else. For Lysium.

Smiling at the baby he picked her up and nodded slightly gesturing towards Shiver to get on the bird.

"Thanks a lot, Ms. Kel. You've been a big help and greetings to Althalus. I hope we'll find that house." Pushing the baby onto the big yellow bird's back he sighed and followed her up there. "Perhaps we meet one day again at this library." He blushed slightly. "Goodbye."

Lysium opened and closed her hand slightly as she looked towards the garden where Althalus had been. Shiver purred and climbed onto the bird's head. With a squeak and a lost feather they were gone.

Let's Have a Party

Fedee Anniversary Party

{Faiga looked at the piece of paper he had been given by Kel. This had to be the house they all were talking about. The library house ! Climbing of the big yellow bird he was riding on he allowed Lysium to slide of the back as well. With a slight whistle he made sure that the chocobo wasn't able to leave and carried the Forgotten Document towards the huge building. It appeared a big freaky to him, but still... wasn't that what everyone had told him beforehand ?

Lysium shifted in his arms and looked down to make sure Shiver accompanied her. The little daemon was happily walking besides the large man's feet and looked around curiously.

Hearing voices from the gardens Faiga moved towards the source. Was a party going on ? Oh no...!

It was noon already?! Geeze. Latifa blinked and stared up at the Durem clock, fixing her glasses and looking down at the list in her hand. Damn her parents! They'd challenged her to live a normal life for the week.

She was almost to the grocery store when a very brightly colored billboard caught her attention. Someone wanted attention! She'd spotted another one just like this across town! Hm...well...anyone who went through this much trouble to invite people to a party deserved attendance. A party sounded like more fun than grocery shopping anyway! The woman turned toward a shop window to make sure she was dressed for going to a party, giving a nod of approval and walking off in the direction of wherever this thing was.

Now Latifa was expecting a grand building...if not grand then at least well kept. What she saw in front of her after fifteen minutes of walking was quite unexpected. Maybe she'd gotten the address wrong...? How strange. This place's yard could use some extreme attention.

Finn had been ambling around that early fall afternoon, hoping that he could find something to do. In between working at the bookstore and going to school, he had little spare time to just hang out, with himself, or with his friends.

Today was a solo day though, and he was enjoying his walk, watching the birds cross the sky, and admiring the colors of the leaves that had changed early. He turned a corner and something quite large and very lime green caught his eye. It was a billboard--and obviously, it was meant to be eye-catching.

As he surveyed the information about the party, he made a mental note of the address, noting that it was close by. A party could be fun, he thought, noticing that he was only a couple of streets away. He continued his walk in the general direction of the party, and as he approached the address that he thought was the right place, he shook his head.

Certainly this wasn't the right house.

It was run down, and the grass in the yard grew tall and untamed. It looked ancient and unkempt--not exactly the place one would expect to have a party. But as he walked around to the side of the house, he could see decorations adorning the back yard. Perhaps this was the right place.

Finn walked up toward the house, taking a deep breath. He wondered if he'd know anyone there.

Sara had a horrible sense of direction that never failed to get her horribly, horribly lost.

Now, while she had heard of this party (everyone within a 3 block radius was gossiping about it) she wasn't really trying to find it. In fact, she was very definitely NOT trying to find it which is exactly how she ended up there.

"Oh boy..." Sara said glumly. She was busy staring at the garden and wondering just how she was supposed to navigate her way through, for while she didn't want to join in on the party, she DID want to find someone who could point her in the direction of the DMV.

Sara stood silent for another minute before shrugging and heading into the building. "I suppose missing my chance at standing in a line for forever and a half might not be such a bad thing."

Elwryn shifted her attention from the strange running woman to the new arrivals. Looks like this party was finally heating up-

"AAAAGHHH!"

Maria huffed poutily, one chubby hand tugging insitently on El's earring. She looked in the direction of the other partygoers, her blurry baby vision allowing her to make out a few distinct moving shapes. A knowning smile suddeny spread across her face.

"Goo?"

Damnit, now there were more people arriving. That totally didn't look like a librabry book-sharing thing... Faiga slowly retreated and was about to turn around as he almost bumped into Latifa.

Shiver instead had noticed somebody just as small as Lysium and moved towards Maria and Elwryn. Where is her daemon ? His voice asked inside Lysium's head who started to whine slightly. She wanted to meet that person and not talk to that older one.

As Sara walked behind the house (she had briefly though about ringing the doorbell, but decided against it when she realized all the noises were coming from out back) she caught sight of the most adorable little red-haired, chubby-faced, little girl she had ever seen.

And stopped dead.

Because Sara was OCD, and babies are notoriously unclean.

Maria was in quite the situation. No matter how hard she tugged on Elwryn's nose, ears, and hair, the woman wouldn't move! And there were so many NEW THINGS. And they were all moving away.

"GAAAAAAA-urp." She blinked hazily, noticing a diminuitive creature approaching. It walked on four legs instead of two, and it was black...But what REALLY interested her was the twitchy thing sprouting from it's bottom.

Giving up, Elwryn let the baby down on the grassy and unkempt lawn to crawl around on her own. If she could even manage THAT much.

Hmm, Sara thought to herself, I think I'm going to walk away and try not to be molested by little drooling creatures. Yes, that's what I'll do!

So Sara strode over to the refreshments table, hoping to get there before anyone else so that she could be sure that no one had previously touched her food (oh the germs!).

"Ohh, I love punch!" Sara said brightly as she poured herself a cup. Things were starting to look up already. They would probably stay that way too as long as Sara stayed on the opposite side of the yard from everyone else, enjoying her punch.

Still a bit startled by almost bumping into a lady Faiga listened to Lysium's demands and allowed her to sit down beside Maria. He smiled a bit at Elwryn and then turned back to Latifa. "S-Sorry."

Shiver simply stared at the very red one in front of him. He couldn't see her daemon, where was it ?

No 'on here. Lysium let him know and waved at Maria slightly. She knew that was a greeting thing, she had learnt that by now.

Maria stared. After the fact, El almost felt sorry for her. After all, the baby had never seen a cat before.

Not responding to Lysium (she hadn't quite figured waving out herself) her arm shot out at Shiver's tail with every intention of making it a chew toy.

Uh oh... Shiver smiled at the child. He hadn't experienced that anyone tugged his tail yet. Lysium was able to talk to him and so she knew that he liked to be stroked carefully and didn't like grabbing. The other children hadn't bothered him so far..so..he didn't react.

Lysium wrinkled her nose at the other one. No saying hello ? Perhaps she just wanted to cuddle with Shiver. It was HER shiver...

"Shiffa." Lysium mumbled and pointed at the daemon.

When the creature didn't do anything, Maria carefully placed one chubby finger on the appendage and prodded. It was soft...and kind of furry. Not unlike Elwryn's dog.

"Fuufuu!" Maria exclaimed, delighted with her discovery. But the twitchy thing was getting kind of hard to grab...

She looked over at Lysium curiously when the girl spoke. This blob was kind of...greyish white.

"Shuufuu?" Maria cooed, trying to sound out what she'd said. She stuck a grimy hand in her mouth and sucked it thoughtfully.

Elwryn looked down at her in exasperation. "No, sweetie, that's not a Fuufuu. It's a kitty. Fuufuu is a doggy." She was perplexed as to how the child could confuse a 50-pound giant schnauzer with the diminuitive kitten, but decided there was no point in arguing.

Lysium watched as Maria poked Shiver. She felt how the cat became tense, which caused her to giggle. No fun.. Shiver mentioned and started to move around Maria looking at her curiously. He shook himself as she called him Fuufuu. He definately wasn't a fuufuu...what ever that was.

What's a fufuu ? He asked Lysium, but the girl was distracted by Elwryn's voice. She was tall as Faiga, but a girl, like Lysium. The baby wondered what a doggy was. She wasn't able to figure it out by looking at the woman though.

Pippin approaches the microphone and taps it twice, sending two thuds across the speakers. "Hey - HULLO!" he laughs into the mic, taking it off the stand and unwinding the cord. "I'm glad you all could be here for this event! If you haven't already, please help yourself to our complimentary barbeque and buffet.."

He gestures toward the food tents, then smiles broadly at the turn out. Some familiar faces, but mostly new ones! He clears his throat and winces as a little feedback from the speakers sends a shrill noise through the air. "Er, whoops," he mumbles, stepping away from one of the speakers. "Anywho! The first event is about to begin! Please join me in the clearing for.. musical chairs~!"

He slips the mic back into the stand quickly and hops off the stage to help his sister and her family, who were enlisted.. or more like bribed.. to work at this party, to set up the chairs.

Walter, dressed dapperly in his favorite suit of white dress shirt, suspenders, black pants, and black shoes, tugged on the brim of his hat and looked down at his large daemon, Oblivion with a smirk. She had the tiniest bit of a metal pole hanging from her mouth like a dog with a bone. She had stolen yet another street sign on the way here.

The teen hadn't bothered to tell his mother or sisters that he was coming to the party. He doubted they would notice he was gone if he only stuck around for a little while. And if Ice did... well, he'd talk her out of grounding him later. He wanted to see if Annie had come!

Elwryn was a little disturbed by the penetrating stare of the other little girl but decided not to let it bother her. She just hoped she wasn't upset after Maria's prodding of the cat.

She tapped the shoulder of the man who brought her, trying to make pleasant conversation.

"Excuse me, sir, is that your daughter? I see she brought her cat, it's very cute!"

Meanwihle, Maria discovered her head did not turn 360 degrees, much to her disappointment, as Shiver circled her. As the cat when out of sight, she turned back to Lysium. She noticed the other girl had gold things in her hair that were similar to hers.

"Baa," she drooled, pointing and waving. And her hair was longer too...She reached forward to pet it uncertainly.

Faiga turned around as he was tapped and seemed almost scared as he looked at Elwryn. Babies were bad things, he had never met that many women before he had received Lysium and now...THEY WERE EVERYWHERE ! Not that he didn't like them, but he always becamse clumsy and...

"Yes, Lysium is my daughter. The cat is called Shiver, she won't go anywhere without him." Alright, he had managed conversation so far. "Your daughter looks adorable." Glad to find something to talk about he pointed at Pippin. "Do you think the children could join in ?"

After checking her out Shiver followe Maria towards Lysium and watched her strange behaviour. At least for a cat it was strange.
Shall I scratch ?

Lysium shook her head and looked at Maria. At first she wanted to grab at her shiny purple eyes, but then she noticed they were eyes and eyes were stuck somehow. So she quickly decided that she wanted the other one's golden stuff, too. It looked nice...

Half listening to the friendly young man talk, she watched Maria reach out for the other girl's hair...

"Yesthatsoundslikeagreatidea!" She says quickly, scooping up her charge before any harm can be done. "By the way, this-" she indicates the mass of fiery hair and clothing in her lap- " is Maria. And my name's Elwryn." She smiles and offers him a handshake.

Pippin steps up on his toes after setting down the last chair. "I see five participants! Any late joiners, or shall we begin?"

Lysium was disappointed as Maria was lifted away, but she didn't have to wait long and she was also taken away from the grass and was planted into Faiga's arm. The man smiled at the girl, but Lysium still pouted while looking at Maria. She had wanted the accessories...

Shiver instead just watched as Faiga started to walk towards the game. "Nice to meet you, I'm Faiga. Look Lysium, what a nice game we're going to play." He wasn't sure if it was going to be nice, but after all that was what nice dad's say, wasn't it ?

Walter shrugged as Oblivion moved to the side, chewing slowly on her pole and watching the kids with blue eyes. Little kids were a pain, but as long as they didn't mistake her for a toy, she was fine.

After grabbing some BBQ and eating it rather quickly, (Finn was quite hungry. He couldn't remember if he'd eaten yet that day or not...) Finn heard the announcement that a game would be starting.

Deciding that it might be fun, he volunteered himself, looking around the crowd for the other participants. Funny, he'd be playing musical chairs. You never saw many adults playing musical chairs, that was certain. It would be a funny sight, he thought to himself, waving to the other people playing. There were other adults too, so it shouldn't be too bad. Surely he wouldn't make too much an a** of himself.

He picked out a chair to stand in front of, and waited for the music to start.

Sara nervously sidled up next to one of the chairs. She had only ever played musical chairs at her brother's birthday parties, and his friends were really too rowdy to be playing such a game. She always managed to get sat on, or something like that whenever she played with them.

Elwryn lifted the baby and let it sit on her shoulders, her tiny hands grabbing fistfuls of her hair. She held on to the baby's legs tightly to ensure she wouldn't fall and proceeded to the game area, picking out a chair to stand next to.

Meanwhile, Maria surveyed her domain. She giggled happily and the sunlight glinted off of the golden laurels in her hair. She followed the reflected beam to it's source- the metallic hide of a very strange creature. She stared, jaws agape.

"Oooowwaaahhhh."

Not only Maria had noticed the other daemon, but so had Shiver. The cat was quickly attracted by that thought and stumbled towards Oblivion with a smile. You are like me.

Lysium made sure that Shiver was close to her and then looked around. There were chairs and everyone stood around. Faiga had put her belly on his shoulder and now she was able to look down his back and see everything.

Pippin flashes a grin, and pushes aside some of the extra chairs, clearing a nice path around the four chairs.

"Alright! When you hear the music stop, grab a chair, and be quick about it! We'll be playing three games of this. Best two out of three wins our jackpot; if we wind up with three separate winners, we'll play them against one another for the prizes," he explains into the microphone.

Signalling over his shoulder at his sister, who is sitting on the stage with a CD player, he sits back in one of the extra chairs to watch the chaos unfold.

The music dances out of the speakers. It's a fluffy pop tune with sugary lyrics.

What kind of music IS this? Sara thought to herself as she began to awkwardly jig around the chairs, trying not to step on anyone's heels.

"I should have taken my mom up on those dance lessons in 5th grade!" Sara giggled, the fluffy pop-whatsit tune getting to her.

Maria idly picks her nose as Elwryn parades around the chairs with the other participants. We must look like morons...

Walter started walking around the chairs, looking over the competitors curiously. No Annie, and mostly kids. Oh well, maybe he'd win something!

Oblivion looked up at Shiver even as she chewed on her metal pole, the squeaking, chilling sound of metal against metal filling the air. 'You're a daemon?' She asked after a second.

She disliked furry, cuddly looking daemon, they always made her feel ugly. Ever since Immaculate. But she didn't mention that.

Shiver grinned excited and nodded. "Yes. I'm a Shiver. You ? The metal daemon looked like a lot of fun, perhaps he could ride on her ? Once in a while he checked where Lysium was, but he noticed they were only going in circles and so it was alright.

Lysium watched Faiga walk around chairs slowly and totally didn't understand the game, but the man seemed to enjoy it. Perhaps it was because he was able to look at Elwryn's back all the time...she didn't know.

Walking around the chairs to the fun music blaring from the speaker, Finn had to admit that he felt a bit silly. Should he let the kids win? It would only be right, wouldn't it?

He grinned at the others, who looked like they were having fun--especially one in particular, who was dancin around the chairs. He couldn't help but laugh at her enthusiasm.

Pippin moves his head from side to side, murmuring the lyrics along with the track, bemused by the game in front of him. He holds up his hand, and the song cuts short.

Sara raced to sit in the chair closest to her, feeling suddenly competitive. Oh no, Sara was NOT above pushing a few people to get her chair. She was, after all, the sister of a little brother.

One must learn to survive under such circumstances.

'Oblivion.' She replied, still chewing on her metal pole as she watched the overy cheerful little black cat. He wasn't improving her view of furry daemon. Worst part was she was almost positive she was the only metal one.

Walter kept walking, wondering if he could win this without appearing to cheat.

As soon as the music cut off, Finn forgot about trying to lose on purpose. He immediately flopped toward the nearest chair, hoping he'd get a seat.

As the music stopped El stumbled toward a chair, slightly off balance thanks to the drooling baby sitting on her head.

Gosh, I just hope she doesn't wet her diaper, she thought glumly.

Faiga tried to push himself onto a chair as quickly as possible and Lysium squealed. She had feared he would squish her head while sitting down.

Shiver instead nodded. You are pretty, shiney.

Well, maybe they weren't completely worthless, Oblivion thought as she enjoyed the compliment. 'I've been being oiled.' She told him, sounding just a bit arrogant. 'Ice is good with metal.' She added, still not referring to the white skinned female as her mother.

Pippin rises out of his seat and gestures to Faiga. "Sorry miss, you're out!"

He claps, still grinning, and the music comes back on. This time, the song is a little more rock, but still with the same sort of fluffiness that the man must like in his music. "Alright, back on your feet! Let's go, let's go~!"

Pippin swipes a chair to make the count three. The music blares loudly out across the backyard, and when it cuts, it leaves a sudden silence and a few visitors still shouting to keep up their conversation.

"Eep!" Sara squeals as she darts out of the chair. This music was more to her style, but there was still that little bouncy bit hidden in the melody that made her want to bounce too.

So she moved her hips a bit, but then realized that's not what rockers do. She started to bang her head but was so concentrated on her hip-jiggling and head-bobbing that she almost tripped herself on the leg of a chair.

Sara flushed a bit, but danced on, apologizing to the person behind her.

Maria claps her hands slightly off beat as the music picks up again. The shiny thing goes out of sight as El turns a corner around the chair, so she amuses herself but drooling listlessly.

Elwryn waves to Lysium and her father. "Better luck next time!"

she is nearly caught off guard when the music stops- more abruptly this time - and she jumps at the nearest chair.

Walter stood and started walking again, not sure he liked the fluffy music, but not about to complain. Unfortunately, in his home, the closest you got to fluffy was Aleric's collection of Paul Simon CD's.

Finn stood back up, pleased he had gotten a seat. He wasn't usually so competitive, but today--well, it must be something about today...

Though he was somewhat curious to know who the other people around the circle were, he avoided getting into conversations with anyone. And most of the other adults had kids with them. He wasn't sure he knew much about kids in general, so he kept his mouth shut and waited for the music to start again.

Faiga sighed and moved away from the chairs watching the funny game. Lysium didn't understand why they didn't go on, but she waved at Elwryn anyway. The man seemed a bit embarassed, probably he wasn't a good loser.

LYS HERE'S A PERSON WHO IS LIKE ME ! Shiver let her know and Lysium looked at the metal one further away.
"Oil ? What's oil ?"

'It's black liquid that makes metal move easier.' Oblivion explained with only a touch of irritation. He was young, and a cat. She was pretty sure cats didn't need to be oiled.

Pippin clasps Elwyrn on the back as he takes away another chair. "Sorry about that! Better luck next round!"

He nods to Phoenix, who rolls her eyes and changes the CD to what she believes to be better music. An indie rock song pours out the speakers, and Pippin shoots a glare at his sister for replacing his music, which she merely returns with a smug smile.

The music extends over a nerve-wracking 30 seconds before cutting short.

Elwryn suddenly felt something warm and liquid stream down the insider of the back of her jacket. Maria whispered an "Uups" under her breath as her guardian's face went a bright, cherry red.

"Uh. Uh. WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK." She made a beeline for the House, hoping there was a bathroom and a changing station in here somewhere.

That was definately something interesting, Shiver decided and nodded exaggeratedly. Black was the colour of his fur, he knew that. Some people ran away when he crossed the streets and said something bad about black cats. "Can I get that too ?" Being shiny was nice, Lysium would appreciate it.

Faiga waved towards Elwryn. "Join us, here's the place for loser babies."

As he noticed though that the woman seemed to have a typical baby problem he checked up Lysium. No, she was still alright. Phew...

Sara definitely liked this song, but also kind of missed the cutesy little pop notes she had been dancing to before. Shrugging a little she continued to awkwardly move around the chairs, bobbing her head only slight so as not to shake off her glasses. THAT would be kind of bad...

'I don't think cats need to be oiled.' Oblivion said dryly, swallowing another bite of metal.

Walter started walking again.

Finn frowned as poor Elwryn had to run back toward the house to change her adorable red-headed baby. That can't be fun, he thought, his mind moving back to the game that he hadn't lost yet.

As soon as the indie rock turned off again, he dove for a chair.

"Ooh..." Shiver was simply disappointed and dropped his ears. That just wasn't fair, he wanted to be a metal cat. Woah, that would be cool ! Thinking about that his ears poked up again and he watched Oblivion chew on metal. "Do you want to play ?

Lysium watched the game tiredly. She was seated on Faiga's lap and was almost falling asleep.

Pippin sighs sympathetically, leading Finn away with the second last chair. Only one remains! "Y'tried your best!" he assures him as the music starts up again.

Phoenix leans forward as another indie song plays, surprisingly eager to see who comes out on top. Walter's been doing very well, but who knows? She lets the music run a little longer..

Oblivion glanced over at her forgotten, her tail twitching slightly. She would have offered to go swipe another stop sign, but she couldn't get that far away. 'Play what?' She asked cautiously.

Walter dug through his pockets, pulling out a cookie to munch on as he started walking once again.

Finn shook his head as he discovered that the other two seats were full before he could get anywhere near them. Aw, well. He'd rather one of the kids won anyway.

Giving them a graceful loser smile to Pippin, he accepted his defeat. And, he piped up for the first time that day. "Good luck guys! It's gonna be a battle for that last chair." He chuckled and sat down on the grass so he could watch the rest of the game.

Sara was starting to get a little nervous as she was surrounded by kids and, well, they get very competitive...

But, no! Sara would perservere, and she would win!

Yes, Sara though with a determined sparkle in her eye, I can do this! I WILL do this!

It took Shiver a few seconds to ask and he was so excited that he accidently digged his claws into the ground. Pulling them out slowly he finally managed to express his thoughts. CanIrideyourback, pleeease ?

Lysium slowly drifted into dreams.

Phoenix cocks her head to the side, then squints as a puff of barbeque smoke stings her eyes. She waves her hands in front of her face, sliding away from the gust of offending smoke, and knocks her hip into the CD player, accidentally hitting eject and causing the music to stop abruptly.

Oblivion blinked. 'how is that playing?"

Walter dove for the chair, his cookie clamped in his teeth.

Sara is startled by the abrupt silence and pauses momentarily before literally diving at a chair. THE chair.

...

Dun dun dun...

"It's fun. You have fun and I have fun and then we run around and have fun..." It was a very logical aspect to Shiver and so his tail twitched slightly at Oblivion's question. How could somebody not see the fun of this game ?

"Congradulations!" Pippin shouts, forgetting that he has a microphone and really doesn't need to talk that loud. "You're this round's winner! I have prizes for all participants.."

He pulls out little lime shaped keychains from his jacket and passes them out to all who participated, then digs into the other pocket and produces a mass of tickets.

"To you," he says to Faiga, "Five tickets for our raffle!"

"To you," he says to Elwryn before noticing she isn't present, shrugging and continuing, "Ten tickets!"

"To you," he says to Finn, "Twenty tickets!"

He turns to the finalists with a grin. "To the second place winner, forty tickets, and to the winner, eighty!"

He manages to pass out all the tickets before being interrupted by the sound of a gong. The lime haired man perks up suddenly. "Dessert's on!" he squeals, running toward the House before pivoting and waving a hand wildly to everyone. "Come on, there's something for everyone! We'll continue after food~!"

Walter looked at the tickets, grinning slightly as he shoved them into his pocket and stood up from the ground. His butt was bruised, but hey, at least he got something out of it. "Congrats." He told Sara before walking over to Oblivion. "Want to get some snackage?" He asked as he finished his cookie off.

'Sorry.' Oblivion told Shiver before wheeling off with her forgotten. Anything to get out of being ridden!

Sara stared at the tickets, having brushed off her trousers just before they were shoved into her hands. But she was more preocuupied with her pants. All this rough-housing did not bode well for a long and fortuitous life for her poor, abused jeans. Then, remembering she had won, she jumped up in the yair and started celebrating.

"WHOO! I won! You have no IDEA how long I've wanted to win this game!" She shouted, pumping her arm. "YES!" She turned around for a second to thank Oblivion, but then returned to her enthusiasm.

She kept on yelling and hopping as she jogged to the house, like the winning team on their victory lap. Some celebration dessert did not sound like such a bad idea at all.

Faiga catched the tickets and thanked the lime haired man, but didn't dare to move at all. Lysium was asleep and he didn't dare to wake her up by moving too much.

Shiver sighed and quickly moved back towards his Forgotten girl. Curling up beside her he dreamt of riding Oblivion.

Vacations

Fedee Event Roleplay

{Lysium had crossed her small arms and pouted while her small body was shaken by the trembling run of her father. Faiga was quite out of breath and his eyes were flickering around nervously. The small black cat on his head, who scratched him constantly, didn't help to stop this.

He had never been to an airport before. Muttering a hello he looked at the blonde woman and handed her his luggage. Lysium watched everything with interest, but still seemed pretty distressed about this kind of procedure. Shiver enjoyed it a lot though.

As soon as he spotted other daemon he meowed a "Hello !."

"Not late at all!" Pippin responds, offering to help with luggage as people arrive. All he does, however, is drop it down on the carts the blondes continue to load and unload, and earns a glare from one of them that he completely ignores.

Instead, he smiles brightly at Raya, but is quickly distracted by the increase in foot traffic. He raises his hands and points in the direction of the boarding gate, humming a song as he swings his arms.

Another blonde woman stands ready at the gate to check passes.

The three individuals walked through the ussual proceedures, except for the lack of baggage. Rogue Dragon smiled at that. True, he and his dragon could go where ever they wanted without the use of planes, but niether had a clue where the destination is to be. The fact that they were to be using a plane to travel didn't meant they would have any bags, except the one RD is carring filled with snacks and such.

Hoshiryuu wouldn't have bothered to use the plane at all, but Cho could use the company. Though true that RD was technically her guardian, the half-elf and porcelain acted more like mentor and student. As such, they got along, but weren't the closest of beings. Hoshiryuu on the other hand had spent the mojority of the last year or two with the juust over two feet tall lady, and one of her best friends. For her the small dragon would put up with the flying contraption, though a disgrace to any dragon not to fly by their own wings.

Cho stuck close to RD. His magic holding off the majority of the emmotions trying to flood her mind. With him near, she only felt those near-by, instead of the hundreds of others. She didn't quite understand how a non-empath could shield emotions, but she is quite glad to have his protection at the moment. Her focus on the emotions and thoughts threatening to engulf her if she strayed distracted her from her normal issues with dealing with humans, for the moment.

Looking around she couldn't really see much besides the countless knees at her eye level. They passed the metal detectors and RD found the terminal, but she hadn't seen anysign of those she;d met at the house. Well, really she had only met a couple of those people, but she had seen several of them at the different activities held at the house.

A moment latter the crowds split giving her the sight of children with creatures and adults near-by. Tugging on RD's sleeve she points them out to him.

Haze smiled warmly at Raya "You're joining as well? Wonderful! I worried that we wouldn't know anyone here." She was relieved that there were familiar faces joining them.

"It's a pleasure to meet all of you." She nodded before introducing themselves. "I'm Haze Wyndre, this is Elias Injo and Uninhabited. And yes, we are joining this vacation, it seems there are more Forgotten Documents than I had guessed." Her tone was neutral, neither happy nor displeased.

"I'm looking forward to this little getaway as well as becoming more acquainted with all of you."

Elias' anxiety of being in a very foreign place seemed to disappear upon seeing Fray. A wide grin preceeded what was an attempt at waving his arms in greeting. And then he spotted Lysium and his grin became larger, his friends were here!

As the group increased, Elias couldn't decide who to focus his attention on. On the one hand, he knew Fray and Lysium. On the other, Walter, Oblivion, Sen, Sevan, and the others were new faces and they all looked so interesting! "Geeeee!!!" he gurgled, as if greeting everyone.

Habi was tugging at the leash while keening pitifully. When she noticed Fray and his guardian arrive, she quickly scanned for Lav and she released an almost horrified squawk at her plight. No nice! she declared to Elias before responding to Shiver with a happy chirp. "Hi hi hiiiii!!! Lav not happy." she told Shiver, gesturing to the caged daemon with one of her wings.

The loudspeaker crackles and a man's voice breaks through the fuzz. "Now boarding flight 218, please report to boarding gate G6, flight 218, leaving in ten minutes, flight 218.."

"We'll have to talk on the plane, though." Ice said with a grin as she tugged both Walter and Oblivion to the boarding gate, following the crowd onto the plane as Walter grinned cheerfully up at the woman at the boarding gate, waving as they passed her, then blowing a kiss.

'Would you stop flirting? We don't have time.' Oblivion grumbled, only to get a pat on her head in response.

Quinn shuffled her way up the stairs, tugging on the leash every few moments to make sure the fluttery pair followed in her wake. Once onboard, she tossed her carry-on into the overhead compartment, using one hand and her head so she didn't have to relinquish control over Sev and then began pulling the girl down to her.

Grasping the winged-child firmly, she placed her in the provided child safety seat and buckled her in, grateful for the momentary break from leash duty. Hopefully, Sen wouldn't be able to figure out how to open all the buckles. Oh dear. What if Sen could figure out how to open all the buckles?!

Tail poofing in worried concern, Quinn sat down quickly next to her charges, eyes fixated on the buckles. Sevan just smiled up at her, innocent as could be, and gummed a bit at Sensations' tail, drool streaming down her sun-darkened chin.

A thought occurs to ROgue Dragon, perhaps with those children having animal companions they might think Cho is one with Hoshiryuu as a companion. Whether or not that is the case the emotional shielding should be done by the dragon seeing how the dragon will be with her more. Nobody here should find that at all odd. With a quick thought toward the dragon they switched who held the spell in place.

Cho noticed a slight difference but it was gone quickly. Looking at RD she queried himabout it. Nothing wrong. Well, that would keep her from having to close her mind, so she is naturally curious. Before she can ask for more details, she is pulled and pushed along by her two companions toward the lady checking tickets and then through some tunnel. Next thing she knew, they were in the plane taking seats near the others of the group. She forgot about the odd feeling. THis is her first time on a plane. RD is perfectly calm, but the dragon is hiding a dislike of planes. Not knowing dragons well enough to know the reason, she wonders about that and the plane ride.

Faiga twitched nervously as Shiver moved around on his head. Hopefully the cat wouldn't jump down and get lost and...

Shiver jumped down from the man's head.

Faiga squeaked slightly, but as he noticed that the cat didn't move away from them, he sighed out of relief. Lysium instead had put the tiniest of her fingers into her mouth and watched the hustle with narrowed eyes.

As everyone else started to move the man started to follow and ushered Shiver along. It was just like being a chocobo following the herd, actually.

Haze adjusted her hold on Elias before following the group while tugging at Habi's leash. She didn't quite know what to expect from an airport, was it similar to the docks? Were they going to ride a cruise ship of sorts? She couldn't help but feel just the slightest bit excited.

Of course she was quite stunned at the sight of the plane. It was certainly not like the ships back on Silar, as it was completely made of metal. There were no sails, no animals that would pull it, how on Silar was this going to transport them anywhere?

"Pardon my ignorance, but..." she nervously bit her lip, moving in close to Faiga. "Is this thing safe?" she asked him.

The loudspeaker crackles again.

"Last call for flight 218, please report to boarding gate G6.."

A small group ran towards the gate, led by a woman in a kimono, pulling a suitcase and herding a few children and a couple large, shaggy winged dogs behind her. "I can see it," she called behind her, waving her free arm. "Hurry up!"

No matter how many times Eriol insisted that he and Viviana and Linnea would be fine getting to the airport by themselves, his mother insisted otherwise. So he was stuck shouldering his backpack and lugging Viviana and Outcry in their bassinet through a crowd of busy people. Thankfully they were almost at the gate.

Linnea was also wearing a backpack, and pulled a smaller suitcase in one hand. In her other hand was a small cup of club soda, which looked bigger than it was due to the thick foam grip around it. It was supposed to be just in case the glass was jarred, a sort of buffer, but Linnea worried anyway. She stepped over to the attendant and let the woman take her suitcase, leaving her hand free to wave to the sendoff party.

"Oh, have fun sweets," DS said, patting Eriol's shoulder as she handed the suitcase she had over as well. "Make sure you call when you get there. And eat properly. And if you need anything, anytime, let me know. And wear plenty of sunblock. And-"

"It's fine, Mom," Eriol laughed. If he let her go on much longer she would probably end up on the plane.

"Eriol-niisan, send us postcards, okay?"

"Take pictures!"

"Remember, you said you'd bring back something!"

"Don't let Eri-niisan boss you around, Lin-chan, Ren-chan!"

Have funfunfunfunfun!

Somehow Eriol managed to get through the throng of the farewell committee and the well-wishes and over to the airline counter, where he flashed his passes. There were four- one for him, one for Linnea, one for Viviana, and one for the Tala next to them who would serve as a sort of chaperone. Once those were approved, he gave one last wave and headed onto the plane.

Viviana wasn't sure what was happening, but it was exciting. Rubbing Outcry's belly with one hand, she waved her other in an imitation of what everyone else was doing. Already this was turning out to be fun.

"Baaaa!"

Twitching slightly because of her sudden closeness Faiga stared at Haze. Oh damn, he knew her, didn't he ?

"I truly hope so. I'll make sure everything is alright though."

Lysium cocked her head to one side and grinned at the lady. This meant Elias and Habi were here as well. Finally her eyes catched him and she waved a bit.

Quickly they made their way inside the plane.

The onboard attendant helps to seat passengers, and, satisfied to see that most of the booked seats are filled, sends word to the captain of the flight's okayed departure.

She then emerges and goes through the motions explaining emergency procedures, while a man narrates with a lack of enthusiasm.

Lobby

Fedee Event Roleplay

{There were many people checking out the hotel and among them was a young Italian woman in a blue top and bright orange skirt. Her outfit certainly was odd. If it weren't for the fact that it was frowned upon to be barefoot in the hotel lobby she would have been, instead she was stuck wearing boots with charms on them that jingled with every step. "That Pip guy sure was generous..." She hadn't even checked out her room her. The bell boy had taken her bags up for her so she could check out her surroundings to keep herself from getting lost--forget that. Getting lost was half the fun!

"Although I'm sorry to whoever I'm sharing that room with, they probably won't see me much." Most people would think she was talking to herself, however upon closer examination one would probably see tiny little ferret curled up in a pouch hanging on her hip. Crescentia hated secluding herself to one place for any length of time longer than necessary.

Faiga was overwhelmed. Why did he have to sign up for this strange trip ? It wasn't even sure that Lys belonged to this kind of babies everyone was talking about. And the cat...was a cat, probably. As if he had heard the man's thoughts Shiver eyes Faiga cautiously. The black daemon was seated on his shoulder and watched Lysium, who had fallen asleep snuggled up to her father's chest.

The feather in the man's blonde hair moved slightly as he stopped right next to a beautiful young woman. If he had recognised this fact at once, he probably wouldn't have stayed close to her, but because of his mental state Faiga didn't seem to care. As he heard her voice though he turned to look at the sound's source and blushed. "...room ? share ?...what ?"

"She said she feels sorry for the people she will be sharing a room with, since they won't be seeing her much." The six feet tall half-elf isn't wearing his usual cloak. Instead he is wearing a green dress shirt and black slacks. He walks into the lobby and stops near the two adults.

Following him is a tiny lady and the three feet long dragon. A little over two feet tall and wearing a green dress, Cho looks like a large porcelain doll because of her size and complection. Hoshiryuu is blue and white with a unicorn horn on his forehead.

Crescentia didn't seem surprised that someone had overheard her speaking in the middle of the lobby, but she did look a little confused about the blush and the stammer. What was that man's problem? That cat and the little girl were absolutely adorable, however, so her undivided attention was won over. She gasped and clasped her hands beneath her chin, bending dow just enough to be level with the girl in Faiga's arms."Aww! How ado--" The woman blinked and looked up to see who had summarized her sentence. Geeze! That guy was tall! Tia frowned and put her hands on her hips, standing up straight and turning to face the elf.

"Were you eavesdropping on my conversation? That was a very private conversation, sir." Crescentia stated with a pout, careful not to crush the pouch her ferret was hiding in. The gypsy glanced down at the little girl and dragon following the elf, her disapprovement melting into adoration at how pretty the little girl was. "Pip was tellin' the truth when he said I would be around a bunch of cute children during this trip."

"Uh..." Faiga blinked as he listened to the stranger's explaination and nodded slightly. "Sorry, I'm not used to so many people." He tried to smile friendly, but it ended up looking a bit fake.

It was that moment in which Lysium awake with a small yawn, rubbed her eyes and stared right into the lady's face. Shiva, whossat ? The baby asked her daemon, who purred slightly to calm her. Person of dad and other person of dad. Can we play with them ? Lysium shook her head slightly.

"Pip ? Oh yeah, the guy who organized this, right ? Nice to meet you, I'm Faiga and this is Lysium." He was nudged by the cat right away. "That one on my shoulder is Shiver." The blonde smiled at the tiny lady and the dragon and nodded slightly.

The half elf raises an eyebrow and smiles. "This is a lobby, and elves have good hearing."

Child? Why do people always assume she is a child. Both eyebrows come down to glare at the woman who had just called her a child. Focusing she telepathically sends the idea that she is an adult, not a child, with a distinctively offended tone. Cho totally missed the fact that she had been lumped in with the children having animal companions.

Hoshiryuu waited and watched. This could prove highly amusing. Being called a child is one of Cho's pet peeves. Normally she would be a little edgy around most humans but not after that.

Playdate with Quixana ( ShortGreen ) at the Event

{
"Stay right there, darling," Cressida gently admonished Quixana. In his eagerness to be useful and desire to show off his new walking skills, he had gotten his fingers tangled in one of the suitcases and she had to gently pry him out before sending him to sit on the carpet. Courage padded over and sat, princess-like, beside him. She cocked her head to one side and made a questioning noise. Cressida laughed. "Yes. That means you, too, gorgeous."

Quixana absently picked at the hem of his robe while watching Cressida wrestle the multiple suitcases into the room. He knew that one of them was his... The other two and a half were his mother's. He didn't know why she needed so many but figured it was so she could stay as pretty as she always was. Sighing, he flopped down on the carpet, falling onto his stomach and inspecting the light green fibers. "Mama?" he asked.

"Just a moment, darling." With a heave, Cressida finished hauling the last suitcase into the bedroom. Then she frowned. "Wait. Where's your daddy?"

Quixana shrugged. "Daddy?" He rolled onto his back and tilted his head back to look at his mother, a faint pout on his mouth. "No here."

"I've noticed. There must be some mistake. Surely..." Cressida bent to tug Quixana upright and took his hand. "Let's go look." She lead him into the main room, looking around. "Hello?" she called.

"This has to be our room, Lys. Definately." Faiga moved through the floors and kept looking for his room. The flight had been astonishing to him, but Lysium actually didn't seem to take it so well. Her tiny hands were clutched to his chest and she peered at the small cat, who walking close to the man's feet.

As the girl heard the hello though she perked up and pointed at Cressida with a smirk. Faiga was stunned. Oh yeah, wasn't it about sharing rooms and so on ? "Um....hey ?"

It seemed like he wasn't expected, but at least she had a small child too. An adorable boy and a...lion ?

Shiver's tail went up immediately as he spotted the other daemon.

"Oh!" The brunette startled visibly, face blanking for an instant. Then a smile appeared, bright as sunshine and she moved forward, little boy in tow. "Hello. My name is Cressida and this is Quixana and Courage." She crouched, lady-like, and gathered the child in her arms before presenting him.

Quixana cheerfully waved and beamed; his smile was a neat echo of his mother's. "'Loooo," he giggled.

"Um..." Cressida's eyebrows came together for a moment, violet eyes worried. Whatever bothered her, however, was clearly dismissed for a moment, rated secondary to the inspection of a new child. The expression passed as the woman stepped closer and made a soft, happy noise under her breath. "Oh, she's lovely." A quick glance at the cat at Faiga's feet confirmed it. "And her daemon. They're both -precious-. Quixana say hello."

Reaching out, Quixana barely touched his fingertips to Lysium's wrist. Then he pulled back and beamed. "'Loooo," he repeated. "Baby."

Faiga was startled, but still he decided to make a step towards the woman and greet her properly. Unfortunately he almost stepped on Shiver, who was of course very much annoyed by this and decided to climb the man's leg.

A pain distorted face answered the greeting. "My name's Faiga and this is Lysium. And Shiver of course. Thanks. Do we share a room ?" The blonde seemed quite relieved as the cat nestled up to Lysium and watched the lion with interest.

Lysium seemed to watch the woman's lips. It would have been nice to touch her hair, but she was too far away. And there was somebody else close as well. The small girl wrinkled her nose at the touch, but especially at the word baby. She knew what that meant. "Pfpfpfffff...."

"It looks like." Cressida stepped closer and Quixana retracted his hand only to smile benevolently at Lysium. She was now in reaching distance with Courage sitting politely at her feet. There seemed to be something bothering the woman again, though. Her full mouth pursed. "Please don't take this the wrong way," she began, "but I have to admit I'm a bit thrown by all this. I hadn't expected you at all!"

Lysium didn't care to look at the other ones daemon, but still eyes him suspiciously. Seemed nice though. A slightly approving nod followed her procedure.

Faiga didn't notice the bothering aspects and just looked around. "Pretty, pretty...oh, I'm just as thrown as you are. Didn't know who would share a room with me beforehand." He smiled and watched Shiver who decided to examine Courage closer.

"Hey, you wanna play ?"

Courage glanced up at Quixana as if seeking confirmation. When the boy nodded, the lioness gave a feline smile and ducked her head in a polite bow. Then she lowered her front end to rest her chin on her paws, inviting Shiver to play. Meanwhile, her Forgotten gently patted his mother on the shoulder before pointing downwards. "Please?" he lisped.

"Of course, darling." Another crouch lowered the boy to the floor and he promptly teetered over to stand at Faiga's feet. A look of intense concentration appeared on his face, brown eyes nearly crossed. Then, painstakingly, he offered Lysium a wobbly bow.

Immediately, Cressida was distracted from her next thought and she clapped, laughing. "Clever little thing," she announced. "Aren't you just the best sort of gentleman, Quixana?"

Shiver was happy. Finally there was somebody who liked to play with him. With a soft meow he attacked Courage playfully.

Faiga watched the scene between mother and son with a slight smile. They seemed so close, he wasn't able to believe that he was just adopted as Lysium seemed to be. It was an adorable moment as Quixana bowed. He seemed to be a bit older than Lys too.

"He's more polite than I'll ever be." Faiga grinned and watched Lysium's behaviour. She leaned forward a bit and looked at the boy. Her lips were pressed against each other for a single moment in time, but then they parted into a short smile and a nod. "Xanananana..." Very much appreciated.

Cressida laughed. "Just like banana, sweetheart," she answered, addressing Lysium as if she were capable of both understanding and answering.

Xana looked up at his mother and held out his hand. "Nana?" he queried, brown eyes expectant.

"Um, no. Mommy doesn't have any bananas at the moment. We'll get you some."

Courage landed heavily on her side, interrupting conversation, as she allowed Shiver to push her around a bit. She was clearly aware of the weight and strength difference and determined not to let the smaller daemon get hurt. She rumbled a purr and stretched out a paw in a lazy attempt at a swat. Quixana laughed and applauded both demons.

"By the way..." Cressida paused, chin ducking almost as if guilty. "I do want to apologize about my surprise. See, I -was- expecting to share the room. Just not with a strange man." She held out her left hand; a sparkling ring sat on her finger, silver and gold woven delicately around an amethyst. "I'm engaged."

Quixana looked up and beamed. "Daddy," he clarified for Faiga.

Lysium didn't know much about banana's and so she just watched the woman's mouth and tried to figure out if it was something nice. The other one known as Xana seemed to know it though. The baby pursed her lips.

Shiver purred and enjoyed the game quite a lot as he tried to block the swat with one of his paws. Rolling around on the floor he became quite dusty. Dirty Shiva. As he heard the voice in his head the cat stopped and looked at himself. Oh...

Faiga laughed slightly at the scene and then turned his attention back to Cressida. His eyes were catched by the ring and as Quixana's words trickled into his mind he blushed hardly. "Oh oh oh ! I didn't know that it was like that. Definately not !" What did she mean by strange anyway ? "So where is he ? Perhaps we can switch...rooms ?"

Cressida's violet eyes lit with relief and her smile had enough power behind it to run Times Square for a month. "Really? You wouldn't mind? It's not that I don't like you. That is, you seem really nice and your daughter is precious beyond words and normally I wouldn't mind rooming with you at all... Except Leon's on this trip and he might not approve."

Her attempt at explanation was ignored by her son as Quixana waved again to Lysium before padding over to where the two cats played. "C'rage," he muttered. Then he tilted his head at the black cat. "Pretty kitty," he added. He didn't offer to touch the other daemon but the look on his face was clear respect and interest. Flopping down, he landed on Courage's exposed stomach. The little lioness huffed, breath going out at the sudden weight, and then rolled beneath him until she could deliver a rough lick with her tongue to his dusty brown hair. He patted her nose and looked up at Lysium again. "C'rage," he explained. "Mine."

Faiga blushed at the intensive smile and just nodded. He wasn't used to women at all, so it still scared him out a bit. "We don't mind at all, it's not like I want to part a family or something."

Lysium had started to wiggle and mumble so he sat her down on the floor beside Quixana and the daemons. The girl watched the other Forgotten with interest and squeaked slightly as he landed on top of Courage.
Shiver purred slightly and rubbed his head against her hand. Not a kitty... He told her, but Lysium didn't say a word at first.
"Shiva." A soft smile was conjured onto her lips as she pointed at the smaller daemon. "Balack...je..jello..." First she pointed at the cat and then at the lion.

"J-Jello?" Quixana's nose wrinkled up as he thought about her words. Then he pointed at Shiver. "Black Jello? Eat 'im?" That made no sense. Jello was for eating but Shiver wasn't Jello!

It appeared that Cressida was only barely restraining herself from hugging Faiga in gratitude. The way she nearly danced from side to side showed the strain. "Oh, thank you so much," she sighed. "You're wonderful. You'll have to meet Leon and Annie. Annie needs more little girls to play with and your Lysium is quite the little lady there."

Shiver's eyes grew wide as he stared at his Forgotten. Eat ME ? The little kitty looked a bit scared and so his fur started to move up. Lysium shook her head though and crossed her tiny arms in front of her chest. That guy didn't really get that she was talking about a colour, did he ? The little girl herself wasn't informed about jello at all and so she just tried to show it to him. Talking wasn't as easy as it seemed to the taller ones. One tiny hand started to point at Shiver's eyes and other small yellow details on her clothes. "Balack and...yell-ow."

Faiga smiled as he recognised the woman's joy. It was always nice to see happy people and finally he didn't feel like a complete idiot. The circumstance that he had to leave this room was almost a sad one. "Indeed she is. Lys hates dirt of all kinds, but sadly we're living on a farm. Where's your husband though ?" He shrugged.

"... I have no clue." Cressida's smile hardly dimmed, though. "We'll find each other sooner or later. We always do."

"Oh!" Quixana nodded wisely. Now he understood. "Yellow," he repeated. "Pretty." Then he twisted to point at Courage's fur. "Yellow."

Christmas

...

{Candles were enlighting the room silently. The ringing of a small bell interrupted this silence as Shiver shased the small thing made out of metal. Feathers of all colours were everywhere and the little hut appeared astonishingly cosy. Faiga smiled as he stopped feeding Lysium with warm milk and sat down on the old couch. The baby appeared to be satisfied but as usually her features didn't soften before the cat was at her side.

Shiver purred slightly and rolled himself up beside the man and the small girl. He had tried to chase the flickering flames before, but Faiga had forbidden him to do so.

Lysium yawned. The days had been the same lately. In the morning they went into the stables and look at the colourful big birds, which made all kinds of familiar noises. The world outside was cold and she hadn't met any new people lately. It didn't matter much because Faiga carried her and sometimes she just sat somewhere and watched. Sometimes she sat on the window sill and Shiver tried to catch the white stuff which was blown against the window.

Today seemed to be a special day though because there were a lot of candles and everything smiled like trees. At least Faiga had said it smelled like trees.

Although Faiga didn't believe in Christmas himself he had decorated the house nicely and bought some presents. He wouldn't tell Lysium stories about Santa, but since his tribe didn't have such kind of celebrations he didn't want his daughter to feel left behind. Even though she was still a baby...

"It's Christmas today, Lys." Four eyes turned towards the man with excitement. Faiga petted the daemon's head. Shiver didn't mind the gesture but Lysium pouted for a moment. She didn't like Shiver to be touched.

"People give each other presents on Christmas." Faiga continued and got up to get three small packages out of a cupboard. Lysium watched his movements calmly, while Shiver's eyes started to glow.

Loook... The daemon told his Forgotten, who just leaned against the couch's back and waited.

Placing the presents gently in front of his daughter and her companion the father smile. "Ok, I hope you like them."

Can I do one ? Please please please! Shiver moved in circles around one of the presents and looked at the pretty paper with excitement.

'Kay... The girl nodded and reached for one of the smaller presents.
