The music world lost another well known and loved organist.
Billy Preston came to public aclaim as a studio performer with The Beatles during the Let It Be sessions.
He had a string of solo hits during the early 70s and continued as a sessions member of several bands including Red Hot Chili Peppers and Ringo Starr's All Star band.
He was in his late 50's.
