Who Is Onyxavia? Wow I look young here. If only *sigh* I offer a wee bit of expertise for my age and, while credentials never mean you'll definitely get a wonderful critique from someone, it always helps. I by no means am the best person to come to, but I hopefully can offer some insight.
Credentials [+] I'm 17. I can relate to many of you here. [+] I am a Studio Art and Education major. I have good knowledge of processes equipped with study of how to help you learn and achieve your goals. [+] I am a Caricature Artist for Kaman's Art Shoppes. I sell my artwork for a living and am employed by a company that allows me to do so. [+] I freelance on the side. I have learned and adapted to a target audience to make sure my work sells.

Some Samples of my Artwork This is an up-to-date post of five of my pieces, so you can see what I can do. You are fully welcome to critique these.
This kid was awesome. I drew him at my work - the picture beside him is my art. We're required to be fast, but I think I spent about 20 minutes on him. Kind of went over my allowed time. Ah well. Prismacolor, ink, 12x16". As always, I find a way to stylize even my most realistic pieces. Some proportional issues, I know. Prismacolor, 18x24". One of my more emotional pieces. Watercolor, 18x24". Still life done during my ART 110 class in one sitting. Graphite, 18x24". Finally, something Anime. Watercolor, ink.

Some Rules [+] Be accepting and understanding. While you may not agree with what I say, please don't try to argue. It is, after all, opinion anyway, and by coming here, you accept that I will give you my opinion of your artwork.
[+] Others may critique pictures here too, but I assume that's what the rest of this subforum is for =P
[+] Try to avoid posting several pictures when you ask for a critique unless you're asking if you've improved or where to go next.
[+] Try to stay on topic. I'd be happy to help you with some artistic choices outside of a picture (such as "Which Major Should I Choose?" Always a biggie), but try to PM me in that case. This is th ePicture post subforum, after all.

Sample Critique Onyxavia amakakeru okay, I think your intention behind this thread is really great, and it's a pity no one has posted their art to be critiqued yet, so I'll go first. 3nodding This is a sketch and work in progress. I am currently working on the lineart, so it's still possible for me to make major changes to the picture. smile and since it's a sketch I don't need a critique on the neat-ness of the lines (although I think I may need to work on that - I do hope you can see what I'm trying to draw here. sweatdrop ). Thank you in advance. Thank you for your kind words! Now onto critiquing.
Initial Comments: The sketchiness of the lines actually doesn't bother me, since I do quite a bit of pencil work myself. I like it; it's very cute, and I can't wait to see the line art. I assume the lined paper will be taken out?
What I See that is Well Done: [+] The wolf, proportions and expression, is incredibly well mastered. [+] Mood and tone has been set well. Kudos! [+] Proportions over all are well done - This one's rather hard for many to achieve, so again, kudos.
What I See that could Use Improvement: [+] The girl seems a little stiff, for whatever reason, especially around the waist area. Giving her a little more depth (a slight view of her rear =P) would show that she's sitting on the wolf instead of straddling it stiffly. I'd also suggest giving her a slight bend at the knee. Her fingers also get lost atop the wolf's head, but I assume that will come out with lineart. [+] The wolf's hind foot disappears behind the girl's foot. I forget simple things like this all the time stressed EDIT Now that I look at it again, I can see the foot, but I feel it should be a bit more visable. Again this may simple as needing to ink it. Once I see the line art, it would be much more apparent to me, but by then, it's too late =P Whatever you decide to take from this will probably look just fine.
Something to Work on for Next Time: [+] Try working on something other than lined paper. It'll save you a great deal of time and your sketches will come out clean and crisp.
Final Comments: Just take care of a few stiffness and simple issues and you'll be well on your way! I can't wait to see this finished.
Overall Grade Well done. 8/10

well, this entire subforum is dedicated to this. i guess this will only let you comment on pictures that wants your indepth comments. which is good i guess.
oh, and also, if you can post your tutorials in the tutorial section of the guild, that'll be great, cause that's where it's supposed to go. makes it easier for people to find things.
thanks. heart

Should have paid more attention.
I moved my tutorials to a thread in the Studio subform, but left a link from here if that's alright.
I like having this thread in all of my art guilds because others understand exactly what they're getting and know that they will undoubtedly get a critique. It also helps me because I don't have to search for those wanting an indepth critique.
Thank you!
