What would happen if a bunch (say, a mole) of same-color quarks spontaneously appeared in one place?

Well, free quarks do not occur, so what would happen is that we would get a bunch of baryons... if they were Δ⁻ or Δ⁺⁺, they would quickly decay into protons or neutrons, with some additional debris. The free neutrons, if any, would then decay into protons. It's only on the order of 1g of matter, but it will be a complete chaos as far as radiation is concerned.

I understand quark confinement and that such an event would probably have to break the laws of physics to occur. The messiness ensuing the event is what I find interesting..
