This is a forum for anyone who likes metal. The types of metal are:
Metal: Generalized
Hair Metal: Also called glam-rock, they thrived in the 80's but now have been reduced to tribute bands. Ex. Cinderella
Black Metal: Metal that usually contains screaming but with a sort of high pitched-grunge tone.
Death Metal: Like death usually contains hoarse screaming but without the high pitched-grunge, just the great coarse tone so many love. Ex. As They Sleep

And more!

PM me if you have any more to add or if you see any flaws.

Lamb of God isn't Black Metal. >>; And there is alot more sub-genres of metal then that.

Not really. It falls more into emo than it does metal.

My mistake sweatdrop Well just think about it as an all out metal forum. From Slipknot to As They Sleep disscus them all!

You forgot "Stoner Metal" and "Nu Metal"

and there are some subgenres only represented by unique bands:
"Boygroup Metal" - Knorkator (from Berlin, singing in german)
"Humppaa Metal" - Finntroll (Party-Folk-Hair Mix)
"Gabbergrind" - The Berzerker (from Australia)

I just listen to Finntroll...

OMFG! How much influences do they have! lol kewl!

My fav genres:
Thrash, Death (which is faster Thrash), industrial.

My fav Bands:
Fear Factory,
Chimaira,
Static-X,
Rob Zombie,
Strapping young lad

I love Metal ;D

Faveourite Metal band has to be Lamb of God. No competition.

I have something against Trivium though. Can't stand them.

I just have Narcoleptic and Nazi Punks ******** Off from them... need more! twisted

And there are some more genres you forgot - Grand Orchestral Kamikaze Metal and Rhythmic Trancecore Metal

Favourite genre would be either Black or Thrash, favourite band probably being Immortal - can't wait to see them at Wacken!

Speaking of Wacken, who else is going this summer?

Me maybe!

It is only a few hundred kilometres from my area.

"True Metal" is really funny. I don't care for "true" or "untrue", I listen to bands I like. I hate this stupid debate "No! This band is untrue!" it ends up in nothing more than discriminating people who don't share the bands.

Anyone heard of "One Man Army and the Undead Quartett"?

They are more than cool...
They are my current favourite.
