i usually cry near the end of the movie when they are yelling at each other and i never stop after that.. until the credits are done..

i dont know.. i just feel "so much emotion" on that part.. heh.
but i agree with a lot ofyou.. the part where christine gives him her ring and leaves him.. THAT makes me cry even harder... crying

|Love me|

When I saw PotO onstage, the lady in front of me kept talking and giggling. She laughed during "Stranger Than You Dreamt It" when the Phantom was sobbing "Christine, Christine..."

Freaking b***h *strangles*

I feel like a heartless wench because I instinctively smile when I'm close to tears. Instead of sobbing when I am most depressed, I start laughing. I feel awful. JOJ singing "Christine, I love you..."

Dammit, I smiled when I saw that, even though I was starting to tear up. *hits self in the face* I feel like the worst person on Earth...

Believe me, you are not a bad person. I can be so much worse than you.

Like, I have so few feelings it's scary. I honestly think I could do very bad things if I didn't have a code that I hold myself to by the pure will of my mind, instead of concience or whatever.

I never cry when somebody dies. I feel distressed...but it's usually the most selfish feelings of "This person won't be around for me" or "Things are changing in my life that makes it so much different than before". It's disturbing.

But I kind of learned to stop hiding it as I tried to when I was younger. I just learned to deal with myself and learned self control. So I'm not as unpredictable as when I was younger. I'm just so cold all the time, and I figure, what's the use trying to act all empathetic and integrated. It's not me and people will have to deal with it.

So, no. At least you feel these feelings. The smiling is just sort of how you deal with it. It does not make you a bad person. At all.

And pardon my slightly off-topic rant. I just felt as though it needed to be said. *Shrug*

The saddest part for me, is when he goes, "It's over now the Music of the Night."
T.T
And when Christine goes back to give him the ring, I'm always like, "Don't do it this time!"
And then she gives it to him.
@_@;;

The "Craziest" thing Phantom has made me do?

I don't think it's crazy, but some people do. *snort* Like I care.

However, I've decided to name my firstborn son Erik. I love the name and it's meaning anyway, but the fact that I hold Erik's character deeply in my heart and have for years, I think it's a sound decision smile

HAH. And now for the weirded-out leers!

1. I think Christine should have been with Erik.
2. She looked back, obviously showing she loved him more.

3. End is really sad.
4. RAOUL IS A GIRL MAN! Is not. neutral
5. Raoul can go to hell for all I care... We take offense to that

Sorry about the Raoul things... I read the book and I hated him even more since I watched the movie before I read the book...

Oh geeze. The never-ending debate. I'm not sure if I should be mean to the author of this thread and go off about the bolded statements or just shut my mouth.

To add to the thread:
I think the part where Raoul coerces the story of Erik from Mme. Giry is the saddest. She obviously loved him as a brother and to betray him like that probably broke her heart.

Actually he sortof is by his appearance, well at least he's supposed to be, because Gaston Leroux descirbes Raoul as having the compexion of a girl...

I don't really get sad during this, but when I am singing WYWSHA my eyes tear up because it reminds me of my kitty, Clyde. crying Don't ask me why, but it does.

That song always reminds me of my own dad, whom I don't ever see anymore. We weren't that close, but I care about him. So it kinda makes me sad.

I saw PotO when it came down to my state. Gary Mauer was supposed to be Erik but didn't show. I'm glad I didn't see him though; his understudy (Stephen Tewksbury, I think) blew me away. The chemistry between him and the woman playing Christine was phenomenal, and for an understudy he could SING! You had to be there...

The parts that made me cry (this is how Mr. Tewksbury performed it, I know it's not the official choreography of the scenes):

1. Erik finishes "Prying Pandora" bit and can't even look at Christine. Christine reaches for Erik, then pulls away and hands him his mask instead.

2. Christine says "Angel of music/You deceived me/I gave my mind/Blindly..." Erik turns and raises his hand like he's gonna slap her and practially screams "You try my patience!" Then he lowers his hand and turns away from her.

Listening to Mr. Tewksbury sing "It's over now, the music of the night" made me sob.
