It didn't effect my playing as a clarinet/bass clarinet player, yet with some of my friends it ripped the inside if their lips to shreds. But occasionaly it is painful after they get adjusted because I'm pressing down on someting with my teeth. But with flute, it will take some getting used to but you should be fine.

It's better to learn flute w/ braces then get them off.
My friend just got some on. You'll have to re-learn your embochure. ;__;

Doesn't affect it as much as if you played a brass instrument. You just have to get used to playing, but it's not awkward or anything. I speak from experience. biggrin

Not much, you just have to adjust. ((Brace-faced Flute Player Experience here)) You need to re-learn how to place your mouth, but other than that it's fine. But don't play on the day you get them on, it kills.
