Something looks awkward about this, but I'm not entirely sure what it is. sweatdrop Constructive crits are more than welcome.

can't really see anything wrong with it, except maybe the placement of the foot. it's the only thing that strike me as odd. i can't figure out which leg the foot belongs to. if it's the right foot, then the angle is not right. the foot will face forward because it would be nature for this pose. if it's the left foot, then the placement isn't right. i don't really know how to explain it. but the design is awsome!! love it love it love it.

i really like the style of this one. and i've got to agree with sox here, the only thing i can see weird looking is the foot. everything else looks really great. i am particularly fond of the tilt of his head. i dunno, im facinated by small things smile

the hand that hold the staff is kinda weird, If i would hlod a staff i would have my hand turn around the other way. his nech is a little to small, maybe make it s bit more muscular, and his foot stands a bit weird, make it point a bit more forward.

Hi eartkid! biggrin I did'nt know you where a member.
I agree about the foot, I can't seem to imagine a leg to attach it to.
Then his arms are a bit unatrually stiff and straight.
He could have wider hips but I'm not sure here...

He seems to have an underbite but that's your style and he looks really cocky and cool with it. cool

The costume design and cloth is just amazing. I love your style it's toally unique and awesome! heart

the main problem anatomy-wise is that his arms are too short, i think that might be whats bugging you.

Thank you so much everyone. xd

I think arm/leg length might be it, as he looked really short when I first placed the foot so I pulled it down and might have gotten carried away. Plus... I cheated and didn't draw the legs under the cloth. I just drew the big blotchy shape and skipped that step soooo that might be why the foot looks like it's so out there. Whoops. I need to slow myself down and not take shortcuts like that.

I always have issues with arm length, too, though usually it's because they're too long. I may have overcompensated. sweatdrop

And hi Chemie! biggrin I've only been a member since a day or two ago.

Again, thanks everyone. I'm going to remember all this next time. 3nodding

i definitly agree with chemiechan. arms aren't too short. and you should probably just leave the sketch alone. it's still good, dispite the foot looking weird.

nope, arms are too short, it doesn't have to do with the length of his legs

judging by the torso, his arm should be longer.
if you lay your arm down next to you, you'll see that your elbow is almost adjacent to your bellybutton
in this drawing, the elbow is higher than where it should be and the tip of the hand should reach mid-thigh, here it's too high

its such a beautiful sketch with so much detail, to have to erase so much work sucks ;/
but at least it won't be irking you everytime you look at it

The more I look at it I have to say the art is not too short.
The arm is'nt right next to the body so I don't think the bellybutton can be used to mesure. Maybe it's the upper arm that's too short to the underarm, or the hand's too big. But I think the whole arm ends where it should on the thigh.

Actually he's not even too long, maybe just a liiitle but I think its cause he's so slim it creates that illusion. If he where wider it would look more propotionall but it's not wrong to me tall and slim. smile

well, i guess everyone sees something different, i still stand by that i said, though
the right arm isn't that far from the torso for you not to be able to tell the elbow is too high and even if you look at the character's left arm which is resting on his side, you can see it's too short for the torso
i know a lot of guys have long legs, tall guys, so being long like that isn't strange at all to me
and the hands looks appropriate since the head is over-sized and he has large feet, if he had smaller hands i think they'd look awkward
