It's true, I mean look at the older items .. perhaps the grizzly/panda hats they're drawn with good quality graphics etc. But look at the sun staff or the angelbow .. they look kinda sketchy sweatdrop , and I know Gaia is a cartoon but still, you get what I mean? Perhaps the Gaia staff are getting lazy 3nodding

Hm, I can't agree on that...oo There are some items with a better quality and some with less... But I don't think all the new items are better or worse than 03-items oO!
The sword of aegis looks definitely not very good...but I definitely like the angelbow, and think of the mochi puppy oo! That one is drawn really good in my opinion oO!
And I think, the admins do put a lot of work in all that stuff to make it look good! I mean, they need the cummunity to be excited and stay here at gaia, it would be dumb to not put any effort in new items and features oO! (and in my opinions the videos of fanime did show, that they work alot!)
Nya...and in general I don't agree with any idealization of the 03-items...>.- The ports for example are surely not a great example for well drawn donation items...oo" A timespan, or a certain year does not guarantee quality in general...^^"

Concerning the ports, well yea they are barley even seen on an avie n_n. And im not idealizing '03 items .. I mean the Kitsune mask was drawn extremley good .. so was the ang staff .. etc. EDIT: Where did you get the Fanime Gaia Online vid?

Agreed

not as good quality... i prefer the older items to the new ones.... the colouring is blander and mistmatch on new items the detail is nt as good as it used to be.

In my opinion I think the admins are focusing more on Quantity rather than Quality. If you look back at the 03/most of the 04 items most have no more than 6 poses. The 03 items only had 1 pose. Back then admins had a whole month to create one item while now adays admins are making outragous numbers of poses plus how the item look when your avi is turned around, sitting down and doing both. I'd rather see back wings as a donation item with only one pose than a demonbow with 100 poses thats don't look too awesome. Oh and if you look at the chain of command, if you put them on your arms and change the poses of your avi arm wise they chains stay on so that chain of command has a ridiculously large amount of poses while the coloring of the chain isn't the best the admins have done.

it fluctuates really, depends on what ideas they have, I think the older ones are so cool because their so simple yet awesome, and I hate that nearly all the new items don't blend into regular clothing at all. their all the kind of items you base an outfit off of but the old ones you could throw on with any old thing. slippers, hats, hairclips, headphones, they all go nicely with other things but new stuff sticks out like a sore thumb. but don't hate 2006 or 2005, I mean lets not forget may of 2004. I also remember when the chainwallet came out people were like wtf stupid black square, but with time it was accepted, the penguin and seal slippers were mocked for their poofyness, but now they are cool too. overtime people stop complaining about things and start questing for them
