Welll...it's acually...The Japanese verision is Atemu
Here in teh US (aka the dubbed version))

She's not incorrect either, though.

Because vowels are almost always present at the end of japanese words(unless they end in n, really) but Is and Us are typically silent.

Atemu=Egyptian name. "Pronounced as it's spelt. But in Japanese, some people may pronounce it without the U as Atem, and that would not be incorrect. Although the Yuugiou cast does still pronounce it Atemu in the Japanese version.

I like Atemu better 'cause it looks better in writing, lik cursive (I can't spell) and it sounds better is a prefix...Atemuness, Atemuologist, Atemuphobia, and others heart

Depending upon where you live in Japan, things are read differently. It was entirely demographic I read.

So I don't feel bad for having Atem on my cartouche then. ninja I got it in January and I was like "Must get cartouche with Atem on it." My mom looked at me like I was nuts when I ordered it. But it's silver just like his was ^_^ I should get a picture of it sometime...

But that just shows I'm a devoted Yami/ Atem(u) fan. Maybe obsessive... but hey that's why I'm here. 3nodding

Okay you put the Obsessed in Obsession. I have an authentic Egyptian cartouche in gold with MY name on it. Putting Pharaoh-sama's name takes fangirl to the extreame sweetie. Kudos to you for having the guts to do that.

As for the "u" discresion, it is properly AtemU because in Egyptian and Japanese the U is included. The stupid freakin dub is wrong. Even in the Shonen Jump manga they screwed it up with just Atem.
