Kamiki
It was late, and the moon shone brightly overhead, basking the river and the feilds in a beautiful pale glow. A larger puppy entered the new wolf territory, her head straight up in a soulful gaze at the moon above. Her silver eyes were transfixed on its glow, and every few seconds she would squeak out a howl, if you could call it that.

Of course, being so watchful of night sky above, the purple pup, who looked like she was reflecting the sky as though she was a still body of water, wasn't looking at where she was going at all. Nor trying to be stealthy, which would be the wise thing for a pup all alone to be.

She padded, quiet noisely, out into the feild, her steps uneven and swaggered, as though she was dizzy or something.

Jiora
Tobar stretched lazily, slowly working out kinks in sore muscles tired from the long trek through the woods. He finally sat down, giving his head a quick shake and stretching his maw in a yawn, and..and..

What was that sound? He crept out from beneath the bush he'd taken refuge in and peered out across the field. Maybe it was a two-legged thing?

..a pup? He sat down and cocked his head quizzically, waiting for her to get a bit closer before speaking up. "How come you're makin' all that noise?"

Kamiki
It took a few seconds for Polaris to register the other voice. She lowered to head and started at the other pup, her silver eyes taking a while to focus, which actually made her look a bit creepy.

"I ain't making any noise," she said defiantly, after looking like she had to process the words in her head before articulating them into speech. Her voice was surprisingly clear and beautiful, certainly older sounding than her body looked. "I'm just sitt'in here looking at the staars. It's probably my brothers and sister that are-a-makin' the noise."

She gave a dramatic look to the right. Then to the left. Then she turned completely around, looking behind her. "Where'd they off to? I don't 'member this place at all." She looked utterly confused as she turned back to face the young male.

Jiora
His head only tilted further to the side at the other pup's odd behavior. His ears flopped down in a somewhat shocked fashion as she spoke. "There's no one here but you an' me, an' I wasn't makin' any noise."

Tobar followed her gaze to the right and left, finally settling for watching her in utter confusion as she turned about. Maybe it was some weird kinda ritual in this area? "Where'd who go off to?" He leaned just a bit closer to her, sniffing curiously. What a strange wolf.

Kamiki
"My brothers and sisters. They was here a moment ago."

She looked deeply saddened for a moment, then cocked her head at the wolf as he came close to sniff her; tho she didn't pull away. "Hey, how comes you look so funny. You're all neon colored, like a bug."

Jiora
The male glanced around for a moment, ears perked attentively. "Well.. I didn't see anyone else with you when you showed up."

He blinked sharply when she commented on his coloring, twisting around to get a good look at himself. He didn't really look like a bug, did he? "I've always looked like this. And I do not look like a bug!" He pinned his ears back and ducked his head in the wolf equivalent of a childish sulk.

Kamiki
"I guess you don't look like a bug. Cuz you ain't got attenae or eight legs or nuttin. But you're all bright. Like a bug. Ya know, the ones with big purdy wings that flutter around in the day time" She nodded decisively.

Jiora
The ones with the...? "Oh oh! You mean th'...uh...th'.." He scrunched his eyes shut as he tried to remember - he knew he'd heard someone in his old pack mention what it was once. "A...flutter..thinger." ...close enough. "One o'those, you mean?"

Kamiki
"Yeah, a Flutterby. Thats what they are. Thats what you look like. A Flutterby." She nodded again, as if she was stated a stone-solid fact.

"So why are you out here all 'lone?"

Jiora
Yeah.. A flutterby sounded about right. He nodded in agreement with the term, glancing at himself again. ...maybe he did kinda look like one after all.

His head jerked up at her next question though, and his mouth hung open just a bit before his brain caught up enough to come up with an answer. "Cuz I got separated from my pack. And so I kept walking and trying to find 'em and ended up here."

Kamiki
Polaris watched him intently, her silver eyes almost haunting. Her maw hug open in an "o" shape as she listened.

"Thats sad. You must be tired. I was walking with my siblin's because our pack made us go 'way."

Jiora
"Not really.. I was resting before you showed up, so I'm not as tired as before." He was kinda hungry...but that could wait until later. It shouldn't be too hard to find some mice to catch somewhere...

He cocked his head at the other pup again. "They made you leave..? How come?"

Kamiki
"Cuz my mom wasn't susposed to have puppies or something. But she did anyway, and she wouldn't tell anyone who the daddy was. And when she had us, it took her all day long. 'An we relfected the sky we were born under..." she stopped for a moment to gaze up at the stars above, as if she longed to be amoung them.

It took her a moment to continue. "The other wolves didn't like that, so Momma told us we had to go 'way as soon as she taught us how to catch stuff to eat."

Jiora
He ducked his head again when she answered, as though realizing he'd asked something thoughtless. It could've just as easily been the sadness of her story though. "That sounds awful. I dunno what I'd do if my pack had made me go away." It was bad enough just losing them, but being chased away?! That was just...horrible.

Kamiki
Surprisingly, besides a troubled look behind her eyes, telling the story didn't seem to shake her much. Just made her alittle more quiet. She always just associated the problem with the other wolves. She didn't view herself as any different. Of course, she didnt have much to base off comparison. But still, she didn't know what else to be but herself. And being her just came completly natural.

"My name is Polaris," she said after staring silently up at the sky above. "See that star," she asked, pointing to the Northern Star with her nose. "Thats the first thing I ever remember seein' Its name is Polaris, too."

Jiora
He watched her for a few moments before shrugging mentally. Maybe it didn't bother her as much since she'd never gotten attached to her pack?

Tobar glanced up at the sky, eyes darting from one star to the next. Which star now? Best to pretend he knew. Nodding knowingly, he sat up a bit straighter. "It's neat that you're named after a star. My name's Tobar. I think it was somethin' my mom just made up."

Kamiki
Polaris smiled as she looked back down to Tobar. She hadn't smiled the whole night. Strangely enough, the air about her changed completely. While ealier, she might have given off creepy or spazzy vibes, there was a serene aura about her.

"I think thats a very pretty name, Tobar. You should be proud of it."

Jiora
He shifted his weight around for a moment and grinned back at her, puffing his chest out when she complemented his name. "I guess it is a nice name after all.. I mean, a mom has to give good names an' everythin'." Behind him, his tail twitched in a lazy, proud wag.

Kamiki
Polaris nodded and then opened her jaw in a wide yawn. When she finished, she looked around. "I've never slept by myself," she stated simply. "I don't know where to go."

Jiora
He cast another searching glance around the field, stretching up on his hind feet a bit this time. "Well...I don't remember seeing anyone around here before." He glanced at her from the corner of his eyes, then at his bush. "Um. You could stay with me for tonight. It's always safer with more wolves around anyway," he said warmly, nodding towards the bush. "I wasn gonna sleep over there tonight."

Kamiki
"Okay!" she said cheerily. "I guess I am pretty tired. I've been walking alot." She headed over towards the bush, smelling at it f or a moment, then promptly began to paw and pad at it, digging up a small groove under its brances.

Jiora
He grinned lazily, tongue lolling out one side of his mouth as the other pup wandered towards the bush. He trailed after her, pawing at the ground once or twice before flopping down in an unceromonious heap. "Maybe tomorrow your siblin's will come lookin' for ya."

Kamiki
Polaris snuggled close, having always shared a den with three other siblings, personal space was not something she had any concept of. "Maybe..." she trailed off as she yawned again. Feeling warm, content, and comfortable, she was fast asleep in a matter of minutes.

Jiora
Tobar didn't seem to mind the close quarters at all. It was a nice change from sleeping by himself for so long. Almost like being back home - minus a dozen or so other wolves lazing around as well. He stretched his front paws out before him as far as he could, laying his head down between them and drifting off to sleep as easily as Polaris had.
