So I started my game over (even having a super Alouette with the Goddess Ring crying ) and I was wondering...how exactly am I supposed to super level my characters in the beginning of the game?
I read something on Gamefaqs that said to kill your own characters repetatively, but that just opens a gate to the dark world that's WAAY too strong for me.

Yes, but you get experience just for killing them, just like monsters.
There's no really-quick way, short of possible cheat devices, but my method is to have whichever one you want to level first kill all the other characters (excluding monsters, if you plan to item level), and then leave the level, heal, and do it again. The dark world points don't accumulate if you leave the level instead of finishing it.
If you're willing to put the time in, you can over-level your people and take over the dark world before finishing the first chapter! ...If you're actually willing to do that, that is. It would be a way to try to catch every last boss, if you want to do that kind of thing....

If you do level on your own characters, just be aware when you wail on the monsters. Doing so will decrease their happiness.
I didn't realize this, and now my bear is at Happiness 1. Every attempt I try to make him happy just makes him run away from me. ;_;

yah, I figured that I wasn't going to beat that level 500+ demon lord with only Prier, Culotte, and Alouette. sweatdrop I'm in chapter 3 now trying to get Rocini (because i never got him in my first game). I'm planning on getting both the Angel's Sandals and the Goddess ring before I actually go into the demon world. Then again...having all Prier, Cullote, Alouette, Croix, Rocini, Homard, Yattanya, and Papillion in the demon world doesn't sound bad either.
...But I can't use Yattanya if i get the Goddess Ring... then Croix's gone when Yattanya comes back, and by that time I've already missed most of the boss monsters crying oh the dillema

Why do you want the Goddess Ring, just to check? If it's for the stat building, then I have to say, you can make better things with a bit of effort (and rather a lot of monsters, so some certain clothes can help there).
Oh, and by the way, am I the only other one feeding poor Kyuuni?

Poor Kyuuni. *pets her and gets my soul eaten* Gaaah.
A problem I have with La Pucelle is that I'm still quite confused on how stat building works, even at the last chapter at the game. I definitely feel underpowered for my level.
Staticians (sp?) in Disgaea were somewhat easy to understand. But I still don't get weapon levels in this game. XD; Duuuh.

Weapon levels affect the stats of the weapon/item itself, but they also affect how it fuses with other items.
When fusing items (of any type), make the first chosen thing be the one you want to keep all the stats of, including the little bonus stuff in the box below the general stats. You want this to be a decent level, generally one level for each numbered bonus, whether elemental or stat-related. (I think.)
The second item should be at a level matching it's own bonuses, which only has to be around five or so for most things, and the monster should be a similar level to one of the items (I don't recall which...) I don't recall if happiness has an effect though. (It's been a week or two...*sigh*)
For example, say you've got a piece of armor that gives a +20 to Def and a +2 def bonus, and another one of the same. You'd want them both to be at least level 5 before trying to fuse them, or higher to save more of the +20. The bonus part makes the character's personal def rating go up when they gain xp. The higher the bonus, the faster the gain.
So, now you might have a piece of armor with +40 Def, +4 def bonus. You can now add other items, say, a sword. Now, armor won't increase your attack, but it can hold a Str bonus. Let's say the sword gives a +2 Str, and a Lvl 2 Fire element. Make the weapon at least level 4 or 5, and the armor a little higher than that. When it's fused, you should have armor with a +4 def bonus, +2 str bonus, and fire element Lvl 2. Any item can only hold 4 elements (of any level), so watch out for that.
Like I said, it's been a little while since I've played, but this is at least close.

Lol. I never really delved much into the nitty gritty of the game... I kinda feel left out and unimportant now crying . I didn't do any fusions, or any dark world... I really just played the game without really any thought going into much and not really thinking too far...
I think I'm pretty close to the end... lol. Oh well I'll play through the game a few times eventually anyway.
